NFL 2013 Part 3

If Percy Harvin is a real factor in the game, Denver is going to have their hands full.

Denver wins.

Their defense stepped up, and Manning is Manning. If Seattle can actually get to Manning, they can win, otherwise it’s done like dinner.

Picks for the SB?

Let the mayhem begin!

Like I mentioned before I’m in a real quandary as to who to root for. Been a Broncos fan since the early '80’s (same with 49er’s). Became a Seahawks fan too about 10 years ago when I moved to the n.w. corner of MT and started spending some time in WA.

Best offense vs best defense. This is going to be tough to pick.[/quote]

Easy pick. Seattle.

I agree. Denvers defense has stepped it up in the playoffs.

I think the best two defenses in the league played tonight in Seattle, and the third best D played SF last week. Denver’s D is like 19 in the league. I think Manning is in for a bit of a shock and Seattle’s O gets a relative break in the big game.

I said in the playoffs they have stepped it up. You can throw regular season stats out the window now that it’s the playoffs. Remember the year Manning and the Colts won the Super Bowl? They had the worst ranked run defense in the league and they played much better in the playoffs.

I liked the Pats-Broncos game even though I’m disappointed in the final outcome being a Pats fan. You had two QBs going out there and playing their game, not making any errors and just slugging it out. It was obvious pretty early in the game the Broncos just had too much weapons. Props to the Pats for getting as far as they did with all the set-backs this year.

Shout out to Kapernick though. Some people have been lambasting his on AND off the field game online, comparing him to Russell Wilson. Wilson is a hard man to hate and Kap is easy. But I can’t hate Kap for living THAT life and posting pics of his cars, biceps, meals and in-the-club (mutually inclusive). As long as he holds off posting pics of the bitches (that’s beta stuff) then he all good. Who consumes that content anyway, or cares?

Just keep picking against us, we don’t mind. Most people were picking the Chargers, then the Patriots.

Now I see we’ve referenced the cold (which we won in), Percy Harvin (dude has to practice first) and our lack of defense.

I’ll take the Broncos to win by 10.

Well hopefully Seattle can get some pressure on Manning, something the pats couldn’t do once the entire game.

I called the game being over after Kaep lost that fumble. You could see in his face he had lost it. It was a good game and that was a stellar play at the end by Sherman. Then he ran his mouth and was just laughable. Again.

For the SB- I seriously don’t think that SEA has the offense to contend with DEN. DEN D has stepped up as said before. The only way the Hawks win is by putting Manning in the turf. His line isn’t that great so it’s not improbable. SEA defense can help them hang in the game but they are going to need the offense to do something or they won’t be able to put it away. I’m rolling Denver in this one

This loss is oddly not that tough to handle for me. I thought for sure that if the Niners lost, I would be in a completely morose, suicidal state, much like I was after the 1992 and 1993 Championship Games. I hate the Seahawks, but I suppose there is some sort of inner solace I was unaware of that I have developed during the slow maturation process I’ve gone through since I was 13.

I think the major factor is the whole Richard Sherman thing. When you’re as diehard a Niners fan as I am, it’s tough to watch your team lose in the Championship Game for the ninth fucking time, seventh in my lifetime. But then you watch a classless fucking punk like Richard Sherman and it makes you appreciate the fact that you’re lucky enough to root for a high-class organization like the San Francisco 49ers. It’s not much solace, but it’s some. I fucking hated Barry Bonds’ guts and never quite reconciled the piece of shit he was with the fact that he played on my favorite team.

Although they’re classless for completely different reasons, they’re still both egregiously disrespectful of the game and the athletes that came before them. I know exactly how many Seattle fans feel today, ecstatic that their team is successful, and yet, also in possession of the sort of deep-seated, inner conflict that can only arise from knowing that you essentially HAVE to root for a guy who you know you wouldn’t piss on to put out a fire if he played for anyone else. It’s how I felt about Bonds, and, to a lesser extent, how I felt about Terrell Owens.

So, Seattle, if you win in two weeks, welcome to the club. Four more and you stand eye-to-eye with the 49ers in terms of championships. But to paraphrase Winston Churchill, someday the 49ers will be World Champions once again, but Richard Sherman and the rest of the Seahawks will still be without class.

Denver scored 26 against the Pats and 24 against the Chargers and gave up 17 4th quarter points against the Chargers to let the Chargers in the game and cover the spread. Seattle’s D is way better than either the Pats or the Chargers D. That said, Manning is capable of carving up any defense, the question is can he do it without tossing some key pics against Seattle.

Seattle has won without Harvin all year long, but he is an X-Factor and looks like he’s going to start. It’s tough to game-plan against an X-Factor without any tape on him. He hasn’t proven that you can count on him because of injury, but I’ve still got my fingers crossed on this one. Coupled with Lynch Denver’s is going to have their Hands full, especially in bad weather.

This is a tough game to predict, IMO, and I could see it going a lot of different ways. But if you are giving 10 points, I’ll take that all day long. Seattle is way better than the Chargers who were actually 10 point dogs and they covered.

(Both City’s have legal pot, so that factor is a wash).

I’m glad you can find some solace in such a devastating loss. You also forgot to mention that a win would have given Kap ungodly leverage in salary negotiations. Now they can tell him, “why should we pay you real money when you can’t win in Seattle.” So that’s a plus as well.

I am surprisingly with you on this one. Maybe it’s because of how the last two seasons ended but 10 minutes after the game I was like “Meh, there’s always next year.”

Anyway, that was a really good game and as a football fan above all else I was happy to see a great game between two great teams that came down to the last play. Same thing in the superbowl last year.

I love Carroll from his USC days and am very happy for him. I really like Wilson and think he is a true class act. I have tons of friends and family in Seattle and am happy for them. The only thing I really can’t stand is Sherman lol. Ever since his Skip Bayless interview I thought he was genuinely a bad person. Heck or a football player but a legitimate POS. That post game interview just reaffirmed it and he is the sole reason that I cannot ever root for Seattle.

With all that being said I would put my money on Denver. They are playing much better as a team and I think Seattle has no shot of winning away or on a neutral field. I think if either of their playoff games this year were away they would have lost both. That’s why homefield advantage is so important but playing the Super Bowl in a stadium other than the Link will be tough for them.

Denver played amazing on Sunday. Even though they struggled against the Chargers, Manning was ON! He has been so dialed in during the playoffs that it’s been ridiculous. He had a ton of drops against SD otherwise that would have been a blowout too. I think this is Mannings year and that he will carve up seattles D. He is just playing on another level this year.

Unless Seattle can find the offense that has been missing for the past 2+ months then I don’t give them a shot. They aren’t going to beat Manning playing the way they have been so far.

I expect it to be a good competitive game but I think Denver just has too many weapons.

31-20 Denver

Seattles d is way better. Their offense isn’t even close.

You think Denver is going to score more points against Seattle than they did against either the Pats or the Chargers?

To Gregron, you would be picking Denver by 10 over SF if Kap scores and wins last night?
