NFL 2013 Part 2

I hope Kaepernick doesn’t OD on Xanex trying to calm the nightmares he must be having thinking about having to travel back to the Link. It would be a shame to deprive Sherman of his well-deserved multiple-pic opportunity in the big game.

Why are QB’s able to achieve massive success with limited fundamentals in college and then completely unable to throw the ball at the pro level? Is there such an extraordinary difference between a pro defense and a college one? Yet defensive players can come in and make an immediate impact in the NFL.
Just think of it this way:

How many starting NFL caliber defenders does Manziel play against on a weekly basis? 0-3? Maaaaaybe 4 to 5 if he’s playing against an insanely stacked D.

How many of those defenders are in their prime? None.

So now he gets to the NFL and he is playing against 11 defenders that are all bigger, stronger, faster, smarter AND more experienced than anything a college QB had ever had to deal with.
Anything in college? He did put up 42 points against Alabama. You can use that same argument against any college player in that respect.
The A&M defense is terrible and that’s the only reason the Tide rolled.
Yes, all bigger, stronger and faster than anything he’s seen in the NFL.

You can’t honestly be saying that alabamas D (who was their worst in years) is on par with an NFL D. SOME of them will end up being NFL starters but none are in their prime yet so I stand by my statement.
Oh brother, the previous year he beat Alabama 29-24. Did that team suck too? Alabama sucks now, is that what we are going with?
No college QB has dealt with a NFL defense. So the same thing can be said about all the prospects. They may succeed, they may suck.

I never said they suck. Stop being melodramatic please.

Fair enough  I don’t want to sit here and suck Johnny’s dick. I am just saying he’s as good a player as college has ever produced. We won’t know if he’s a good NFL player until he’s been in it for 5 years, just like anybody else.

Not true, examples - Tim Tebow, Jamarcus Russell, Tony Romo (oh wait that shouldn’t be there!)

That is just silly. Tebow had a higher passer rating than both Peyton and Eli Manning in college.

Look at his Heisman season. Led the SEC in completion percentage, 3rd in pass yards, 1st in YPA, 32 pass TDs with 6 INTs, and #2 in the entire nation in pass efficiency rating.

I don’t even like the guy. I’m just saying.

I think this is pretty spot on:

Botton line, its going to be a slug fest, Seattle’s offense has been struggling a bit, but Kap still hasn’t shown he can perform at the Link.

Dear sweet little baby Jesus, No. You are soooo very wrong. Tebow, better college player. Luck better NFL ready QB. Peyton, obviously. Hell, he isn’t even the best quarterback choice in this draft. Despite what you think about his skill, his injury issues remove him from that consideration. He is a lot like Micheal Vick only less athletic so there is another college quarterback that you can put ahead of him. LSU was the fastest defense he played, as they are consistently the most athletic defense in the country but undisciplined, and his stats were not surprisingly unimpressive.

Over the two meetings: 45-97 for 900yds 1td 5ints 29 rushes for 81 yards (2.8 ypc) and sacked 5 times (almost all of them were his own fault because he tried to run around and be “magical” instead of playing fundamental football)

What Johnny Football’s NFL Future will look like…

One thing I’ve been hearing a lot about the Wilson struggle situation is that without Harvin they have no receivers who scare you.

Teams are starting to line up, play man to man on the outside and take away the throws into zone coverage that Wilson just eats up. A huge factor in this game is going to be how the refs call the game in the secondary. So far this post season I think there has been a total of 2 or 3 PI calls and 4-5 holding calls so that would definitely be in Seattles favor but who knows what will happen in this game considering Harbaugh always works on the refs and there have been some other coaches (most notable the giants coach) who have publicly called out seattles “perfecting the art of pass interference.”

It’s been a pretty big topic of discussion so it’ll be interesting to see if and how it effects the refs.

I’m with you though, I think this will be a hard fought defensive struggle. I’ve said it for a few weeks now to friends of mine, the way to beat Seattle is:

 1. Run the ball effectively.
 2. Stop the run.
 3. Be +2 in the turnover margin.

That’s how you win IMO. If you can’t do all 3 of those I don’t think you can beat Seattle in Seattle. I think SF is definitely capable of doing that but it’s just a matter of if they will. We just can’t start out with long drives that stall and end in FG’s. That won’t cut it.

If Seattle shuts down Gore, Kap is in for a long fucking day. I think the same is true for Wilson/Lynch.

Sure he had a couple of bad games.

And you are entitled to your opinion and nothing I say or post will change that. So I am done with this topic. I think he’s really good and you don’t. Ok.
The only way to know who is right is to see in the end, no point in arguing about it now.

That’s about as generic as it gets. I think I will withhold any further opinions until after sunday. I can’t wait till Sunday though. Both should be epic. Yay playoffs!

I’m not an NFL rocket scientist.

I am loving the Pete Carroll vs Jim Harbaugh coaching matchup, it reminds of me USC vs Stanford from a few years back.

This game is just too hard to call at this point.

But I am leaning with San Fran to win, Kapernick has impressed me because he is learning that playing QB means more than scrambling to make shit happen. He is making gutsy yet intelligent throws. At this level, the NFL playoffs means doing the little things right, knowing when to throw the ball away, when to get out of bounds, and being disciplined enough to not commit stupid penalties.

Then if Lynch gets on his horse, it’s a whole other issue as well.

Enough of this bullshit, fire up the cameras and let’s get this bitch on already.

I am thinking San Fran win. 6 PI calls against Seattle. Boldin bust loose in the second half and has a huge day. Gore finds no room. Lynch cant get anything going.

1st Qtr
Wilson to Miller 7-0

2nd Qtr
Dawson Kick 7-3
Hauschka Kick 10-3
Hauschka Kick 13-3

3rd Qtr
Dawson Kick 13-6
Hauschka Kick 16-6
Kap run 16-13

4th Qtr
Hauschka Kick 19-13
Kap to Boldin 20-19
Dawson Kick 23-19

9ers win
