To be fair, Griffin’s lack of receiving help is muddying the waters of comparison.

Also, using (obviously) different criteria, I would call Marino “the perfect QB” as well.

The perfect QB? C’mon! He didn’t win any rings. Like it or not, the nature of the game is to win rings.

There’s Montana and there’s everybody else.
I hate to say this, but I saw Aikman fuck the Niners too many times to deny it: the guy was a REALLY underrated QB. His name never comes up amongst the great QBs of all-time, and he’s definitely a notch below guys like Montana or Starr, but fuck he won a lot of big games. Seems like most of them were against the Niners.
Yep, dude was accurate, clutch and smart. Those were some really fun games.

So is the most over rated game of the weekend? Will this game determine who gets fired at the end of the season? I love my Cowboys but this season has really been a disappointment with the improvements on Defense I thought we would have a better record.

^^ Won’t today’s winning and losing coaches both receive a pink slip at season’s end?

I could see Garret lasting one more year but no way is Reid coaching the Eagles next year. But if some big name comes out of retirement who knows, Jones could axe Garret in a heart beat.

I heard(XM radio) Barry Switzer slagging JJ about how much he had to do with the team roster on draft day and how Jerry would pick up a phone when the cameras were on him in the war room. He said, she said to be sure but interesting. Berry don’t like Jerry.

As far as the game goes it could be a great game. That division, who would have thunk it.

The thing that always amazed me about Aikman was the fact that he didn’t use the laces for grip. This picture you chose DJ shows it perfectly. Fucking guy must have the hands of a stone mason. Not sure if he was a farm boy or not.

Then I’ll counter with the claim that its simply too much of a team game for the ‘ring(s) argument’ to be decisive for any one particular position.

Of course QB is the most meaningful, individual position but 11-on-11 still leaves too much up to everyone else.

(And I won’t even mention the inherent arbitrariness(?) that judgement calls and that oblong spheroid itself necessarily create, won’t do it)
Agreed. To say that Marino cant be the “perfect” quarterback because he doesnt have any rings is pretty weak. The man was loaded with talent and had one of the quickest arms Ive ever seen(Rodgers has that similarity).

Dude I know you are probably sick of hearing it but Im going to put alot of the blame on Jerry when it comes to the team’s troubles. He is an excellent business man and could probably be one of the best owners in sports but his uncontrollable desire to have such a damn big part in the teams football decisions is fucking up the coaching and decision making of the team. He needs to be more like the Crafts and Rooneys and less like Al Davis(although Al has done alot for the game).

The Patriots defense really sucks. As Deion Sanders says, “it’s hot garbage.” With 3 minutes left, my Canadian cousin texted me and said, “the pats are going to blow this.” I wrote "No they won’t, Buffalo always plays just well enough to lose. 14 penalties for 148 yards, and two turnovers in the red zone rested my case. It looked like the 1970,1980’s Patriots I grew up watching.

just an absolutely excruciating day to be a Rams fan…

Not like that.

They basically won the game twice and yet somehow didn’t win it at all.

I’m gonna go ahead and apologize to DB now… I picked up Akers in one of my fantasy leagues this week because I needed a kicker… That is why he missed that kick in OT. I’m a huge jinx

Lol.

That tie yesterday was great. I was rooting for a tie just because they happen so rarely.

Also, the QBs are getting jacked up this past weekend. Big Ben picked the worst time to go down with an injury as they have the Ravens next weekend. Hopefully it isn’t anything too bad, but the way they made it sound during the game is that it could be.

Also, the Steelers are boring without Big Ben.

if the steelers have the same officiating crew next week against the ravens they should do just fine
