Im not sure what he would expect us to do. Boycott the games? Hardly anyone will do that. But I do agree that it is getting serious.

A Wisconsin (senator?) (congressman?) gave out Goodell’s phone number last night over Twitter.

The fact that this thing is bringing about a press conference should speak volumes about how much of an inexcusable injustice this is.

What makes this whole situation really fucked on the part of the NFL office is just how little money this entire debacle is being played out over. The refs are only asking for a raise from about $145K per season to $185K per season. Do they really deserve a 30% raise? Before this whole disaster I would have said no. But regardless of whether they actually deserve it, to the NFL that amount of money must be an absolutely infinitesimal percentage of its annual revenue.

How many fucking refs are there anyways. Even if there were several hundred of them, giving them each an extra 40 grand each year isn’t going to mean shit to their bottom line. But they’d rather just give us this shit product from week to week due to pure avarice. This whole thing could be over with tomorrow for probably a quarter of a percent of their entire revenue.[/quote]

I believe they’re also squabbling over pension money. Either way Roger Godell is a cunt.

Actually the Refs are asking for a better retirement fund actually twice the amount that the current PLAYERS are getting. This is the sticking point not the salary.

Also take into account these dudes already have jobs or are retired and are already collecting retirement savings which by the way I could care less, let them double dip.

Just get back to the table and work it out.

Not to take light off the fans or the players but what about the folks who work at Lambeau?

What if you supplement your income by working in or around the stadium (as a concession vendor, security guard, etc)? That call in itself could push the Packers out of Home Field contention for the playoffs or even out of the playoffs all together.

Too often in strike/lockout situations the trickle down effect is overlooked.

That potential loss of income (potentially 2 days work) for those folks is significant enough to not be overlooked in any reasonable discussion about lockouts/strikes.

Lol you and your hate

I agree, but this would be setting a precedent for a long fucking time, once that retirement door has been opened cant be closed again. I dont want them to be dealing with this shit again in 3-4 years.

That is all the NFL had to say? They didnt address the whole issue. What about the PI that would negate the “touchdown”? From the clips I saw last night, it looked like Jennings had contact with the ball first so the “Simultaneous Catch” ruling goes out the window. And they dont even mention an apology of any sort? Horrible PR skills. This wont end well at all.

One more week of this and I could see the fans turning against the refs. As of right now most folks are siding with zebras.

Imagine if this happened at Lambeau?

“While the ball is in the air, Tate can be seen shoving Green Bay cornerback Sam Shields to the ground. This should have been a penalty for offensive pass interference, which would have ended the game. It was not called and is not reviewable in instant replay.” - NFL

I’m not so sure the regulars refs would have called offensive PI in the first place, like push mentioned earlier, it’s a hail mary, shit like that happens.

However I do think the regulars would have called it an interception right right away on the field.

Just a load of shit. How is it not reviewable? Was it not captured on film?

Hey SN, what is that play called where Ben gets the ball snapped to him from the shotgun and kind of tucks/hands off the ball to the RB. It’s not really considered a draw is it?. I’m half expecting Roethlisbeger to keep it run an option lol.

I read today that Ben was calling his own plays in the no huddle but they were plays from Arians play book that he and the rest of the offense felt would work. This worries me. Could this be the first sign that Ben and Haley are not on the same page so to speak?

Depends how the OL blocks it. If they are pass-setting at the snap then it’s a draw. Otherwise it’s just an awkward-as-fuck running play.

They just put up 31 points which would have been in the 40s without the fumbles. I’m not worried about the offense at all.

It’s just against the rules. What they are reviewing is who caught the ball… if they see in the review that Tate pushed the defender, it really doesn’t matter since they can’t call that penalty from a review. That offensive PI has to be called on the spot by the refs, which of course they missed like tons of other plays before the game.

I’m not worried that they won’t put up points, keep feeding Miller the ball in the redzone and I’m happy. What worries me is that when, or if things start to go sour will Ben start to ignore the plays Haley calls. If Haley wants to stay he’ll let Ben do his thing once in awhile and keep quiet because #7 isn’t going anywhere.

Awkward-as-fuck indeed lol. They have kept the awkward-as-fuck bubble screen but it seems to work.

I sure hope Mendenhall can settle once and for all if this team can block. So far it’s been horrid for many reasons. I don’t expect him to be the second coming but I do think he’s better than the rest of the guys back there.

Yeah man, Miller is a true red-zone weapon for you all this year. He’s getting it done.

Yeah, because controversial TD calls never screwed anyone out of a game with the regular refs.
