That made me happy. He looked real rusty tho, and i still dont like using a #3 pick on a RB.

Shurmur might be the worst coach in the league, why did he not go for 2? i think it’s safe to already say waiting for next year, and a good draft. Hopefully the new owner will GM tom heckertt, fire shurmur tommorrow and allow dick jeron to coach.

Rusty how? Not seing the holes or apprehensive to hit the hole. Did they leave him in there to block? I have him in FF and am curious to know.

Jeron didnt do much in Buffalo, but you never know. I hope they turn it around, I enjoy the parity in the NFL.

The Browns D is actually pretty good, and honestly shurmur just sucks that bad.

As far as T Rich, he hasnt played a down since the NC game; so he needs to learn the nfl game and where and when to break through the holes. I think he missed a couple opportunities to gain extra yards sunday, but he did make a couple guys miss and ran through kurt coleman. dude is a damn beast tho, makes MoJo and ray rice look like fat bowling balls in pads.

Is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling that the hurry up/no huddle is going to be the next big thing on offence…for a little while anyway. I know you have to have the right players to make it work but it seems that alot of teams went to it at some point on the weekend.

What happened to the Saints? I wonder if they are really missing Sean Peyton on offense. I guess it’s Brees first game with an under 50% completion since 2007. [/quote]

As a Skins fan, let me preface this by saying there’s hardly anyone that is more harsh on the Skins than myself, for reasons I probably don’t need to even point out.

That said, the Skins D has been decent past few years, but the secondary has been an issue. The secondary in this game were covering the receivers really well. Also RG3 just had a game like he was among the best in the league.

While I’m sure the Saints lost a slight step b/c of no Sean Peyton, give the Skins credit, they played a great game (for the most part). They still can’t seem to just finish a game and make it over early.

So I went to check out Tomlin’s presser for the upcoming Jets game. The video is over 20 minutes so I clicked on the transcript so I could skim it. Here’s what I got, LOL:

Good afternoon. I’ll start quick reassessment – Sunday’s performance obviously. Solves and a successful one. You know the reasons why after have a wants to video really aren’t very different in my initial reactions. Following the game from a thought we did some good things. At the quality of – him Wayne down the stretch. Specifically. You know would it make significant plays an office and defense. You know got acknowledged that Denver did they’ve made splash plays offensively and he visibly. Examples of that of course with a 71 yard screen. To Thomas office leader in the latter part of the third quarter. To essentially closed the game now. You know there were some positives obviously we’re not look at the positive that’s not our bag but we will acknowledged that there were some positives in football game. I’m up on our our kicking game is this specifically a specialist. With an asset. Jaws was almost to a two Google’s standpoint. Who – 55 and kick off game – five touch backs but. Drew Butler represented himself well the first time out as a part of – four yard net at one down. Is that five there thought no significant. You know one of field position battle with that that we had a big return game that – in a punt return game by Antonio Brown to produce scored opportunity. Offensively and defensively I thought there was some positives. But not enough the typically lead late in on us while we sit here today or more. If you look at some interest there a point we’ve got a pretty good news net front. James Hairston worked out yesterday. Rome note no practice. All right tomorrow see where he is and will basically files – call him that we did last week. Will work him out to activities see out his name response today and activity that that your dad took his participation. Somebody in game injuries. Of – Troy has got to right calf strain. Should prohibit that from him what made him. Particularly early – week from. Preparation standpoint. Ramon Foster who missed time in the game. Home. You know appears to be fine. That as is Marcus Gilbert hyper extended his name. He may be limited that front part weak but it won’t. Stop – participate in this upcoming game some of it is a minor bumps and bruises I’m obviously. Look before. To our first home game look forward. To have an opportunity to respond to last week’s defeat. That – at details is not an easy one and former New York Jets. They’re coming in here off a big victory. – the Buffalo Bills started off one and – practically won and order division. There rock solid team they’ve got great balance they get good players and all three phases and out as quickly outline. Some old guys start with their defense. That we start talk about the defense you talk about the strong cover people. On there Revis is the obvious example. He’s the best the world would – But he supplement it with some rock rock solid quality players. On Marty at the other corner who had a pick six last week. The top top – better professional. Very good government. In the slot they’ve got Wolfson a first round pick Boise State a few years ago he had a pick also in last week’s game. It is becoming a very. A very experienced article quarter both – got the first first round pedigree type guys. They’re capable of cover people play bump and run. And I really think they provide an opportunity to do a lot of things defensively. This would capability of cover people practically. And bump and affection. On new acquisition for safety spot as Landry on the always benefit his game. I think he’s played extremely well. To be quite honest with you are in the running game in the passing game as several interceptions in the pre season. Always a very physical player always plays accounted demeanor that you respect. We’ve gone against him in the past course. He’s new to the Jets but he’s about a quality. Component after the county. To their secondary. Bill – back – of veteran 10 we think about. From their defense that about a veteran linebacker core ones. Who would just very well formations. On the very rarely out of place. Bart – eleven year veteran of course come over awful ball well with those guys very experienced in the in this game. Apart quality leader David Harris noticed that lap back at the top quality. Second contract – as – Picasso at a University of Michigan really good football player. Paces of veteran outside linebacker. Up front at that we’ve talked about it – up front defensively are much like our defense the front. If some how round draft pick some young talent. Mohammad courses out of temple first rounder. Hopefuls is first round out UNC. Anna Kendrick Ellis. Is – round draft pick out of Hampton at the top quality young guy who’s a big article – out of the office – important start yet says it is. He’s done an awesome job for your last week a bomb in over the last several years at the quarterback position. He’s very mobile. He can create plays – they break down on these highly accurate typically don’t move creates problems of – from from a defense standpoint. Contain him as an issue. What – is but played break him down or about pocket movement utilized that course very well. Works with a nice core receivers – their group is Antonio Holmes obviously. With familiar what’s it – capable of he still look how quality player very productive form. – big – for a pick from Georgia Tech at the other wideout spot in hill. Obviously with somewhat allergic to first round draft in wideout Thursday so we respect with his – blow – You produce some place form last week. In near good group that regard. There office – is anchored by – medical center position. Pro Bowl caliber player who’s played at a high level for a long time the British offered some course that they left tackle. Good player to acquire. The big tackle. From Baylor. From St. Louis Rams that you last him. Ideas some some of their run oriented heavy packages. On that’s – weapon for the past he appears to be that extra office eleven if you will utilize. As great idea. Of course and running back group live back grain is that featured ball carrier. A tough. North the south car tag runner who always seems to fall forty supplement about Joseph McKnight. Pal who. Who – a third down or or or – type responsibilities – back field. Obviously they have Tim Tebow that they use in a variety always. The views – some as a receiver to use some quarterback position. Com they’re capable cause obviously you visit him at quarterback position in the traditional like fashion they did use – so many wildcat like fashion. In the last game are really picked it what we saw the last game is just the tip of the iceberg. Of what they’re capable of him. That gave circumstances. Allowed them to the use this may be – what they’re capable of maybe what the – some of it. Not to and it showed in that game was really groundbreaking or outside their personality. A what you’re talking about audio office coordinator his experience. Arm in Miami or what you – from Tebow. In the past so we’re – is that such simply the – guys are. While at work – this week on the oddities did it and use the extra work and preparation. Some Lockett Dave’s been around for a number of years now – we competed against those guys near Miami utilized it quarterbacks whether it was Ronnie Brown or. Quarterback like Pat White obviously we’ve prepared for some of the things that. To keep both capable of recent years. The preparation plan that he was in December on – we respected. Required prep – but not anything huge – For a at least in terms of preparation for football game respecting what they’re capable of doing that Eagles personnel groups. On this will be a big week for us we’re excited about preparation prospect. Prospects in front of us. We’ve evaluated that tape and productive meeting yesterday. – we move forward ratchet up. Our preparation correct the errors. Though specifically Cabrera so definitive about it but it we did. Lastly with that opened up for questions. Might be easy to his own appreciation to the Jets and then they turn it on the first game of the season would be easier you know – It shows. One week apparently so he’s. You know pre season is just that – pre season. You know from from – personal experience. Sometimes. It can be – reason why you – productive left productive in the pre season. Usually is similar around limiting game plan – wanted to see things from certain people. And – and so you know that’s the place to begin don’t read too much into it to be honest with – Are you look at the structure – attack. The tape – put out last week was very impressive. In and that’s the tape and I’m concerned about – folks of marriages or the preparation for them. Griese yeah. Dale he’s fast all he didn’t pass protection. Was it more is. Walker’s chances we’ll. You know I think goes a lot of things in – including me that included in that is game circumstances they jumped on him earlier we have an opportunity to do that you have an opportunity. May not rhythmic in terms of your approach. Whether running the football with a misdirection pass – with a quick passes ought to utilize all of those and all that well within the realm of of Sanchez’s expertise so on that is who they are they gonna mix things up and run football. They’re – his tools and misdirected passes and quick game. You know they’re very balanced offensively and is the limit your opportunities. To get him impression. some of the guys on defense once that Denver when the no huddle really just didn’t have an answer how do you. Prepare for that situation where you can’t sub out the kind of defense that other. You know I’m less concerned about about. That aspect of the fact that there are no more concerned about what transpires at that ball’s snapped and in reality is that we play well enough post – forget about whether or not out. All huddled between plays. We get full control how we play once the ball’s snapped – what does not familiar with. And really when you go back to look at tape. I thought one of the things that made you know attack most effective was affected they ran the ball successfully. In – able to – schedule. And – whole – third down opportunities they do happen and in the game wouldn’t let you noted it would double first and second down specifically in the second half. But they ran the ball very well. Real and off chunks of 79 and so forth and back yard gains are which of course makes it doubly difficult to do the gap the caliber meaning. In addition. Do very very difficult team for years fashion. Does it limited tiger’s defense you can only benefit you at all and they change the plays that they weren’t significantly. First – there. Really but they were. It doesn’t really it doesn’t really limited us in terms of personnel packages and what we’re capable of attack people where if we we utilized a variety of personnel packages. Sometimes it – there is sometimes it didn’t and that’s always the case with us. It didn’t Texas a limit us in terms of the the types of coverages that defense is that we could call because quite frankly there they weren’t in a hurry up like fashion. He never felt the pressure of that type hurry up they were in a model all the local level if you will so – In terms of the ministry in a calls are given a call some deep has really remained the same addicted to coast to player communication on defense – last. So over years of leveled the playing field in that regard. Are we just didn’t perform as well as I’d like forced to be quite honest with you in that regard – some things you guys – asking what tomorrow. We continued to own kind of rotate your backs and people. Say what you thought about performance and run the other night. You know I think we’re capable of better. You know with still continue to play a number of people we have sorted out with that what their rotation is to this point obviously I thought. Jonathan Dwyer about Bartlett represented himself well and probably get an increased opportunity because it is Rashard anywhere near room. Return policy had a week take on a buddy had a good week last week. You know he’s done a nice job the thing that we’ve asked to do it would just continue to move forward in the put his together here’s the week hopefuls Steve he’s a gaffe forces with. the hostile environment last week and Mike Adams considers a rookie – thoughts on Hartley handled the crowd played played this is his first game the Steelers. But he – so well go from – he has trouble late. At the extreme game as we all did. But where are – One dimensional course. On at that time but not disappointed in the way – himself. I’m obviously I’m as a backup capable. Get in – and – position unique circumstances he went and played solid ball right tackle. – A was able to. Would – optical migraine some time. Obviously. – vision – flow. Use extreme caution Garza that what he wasn’t able to return to football game has been non issue hopeful – I don’t know how it happened – the video. He specifically. A video of all injuries and just – great football. We go over to her place in the games that pace. Charleston is a feel for the game we’ll look – You know the feel for a game I thought we had an opportunity. To go up by seven or take on the if we get to him put his back on par with him gloat when he one. Are fourteen so we seize that opportunity but we’re moving the ball extremely well. Arm so I took took advantage of that opportunity presented to us at that time unfortunate work force. I get another false starts or realizes while there are places but there’s also a byproduct of letting the play clock run down there were times. Balls that was 12 half a second. We don’t want that kind of – position. I’m not really a function of that that happens all the time on home or away I thought. Probably the biggest factor in that regard was the fact that you know the crowd. Denies job of being extremely loud limiting communication and have a gold rhythm on site and sometimes particularly when you pass situations. Try to anticipate. To snap count or funeral running situation – pulling let’s say. You’re anticipating the snap count which makes it increasingly difficult we didn’t look good enough job in that area. Create some negative plays force thankfully we were overcome most of them. Well we’re eleven of nineteen – third down. Problem many Eagles third Dale’s that we were able to convert – comfortable ones in situations. That we’d have a desire to stay out of third 113 and thirteen third eighteen and so forth committee – situation created about pre snap penalties levels false start are some justices. On bad mechanics – part illegal formations. Did – parents and you deserve – in – offensive line in this league. You know we’ll look at the totality of a football team overall health of – football team. And how we wanna attack specifically did Jets. And we’ll make that determination at the end of the week I’ve never. Have a knee jerk reaction to what transpire. The week before in terms of identify who’s playing who’s not a look at the overall health of our team the planet we have replaced this game. It will do it appropriate time to latter part of the week for us. Both the source excuse me. Legal formations. You know I don’t have there’s added that it really shouldn’t be but obviously it was so. You know we neglected on board improvement area. Mike and Bob believe alone us play yeah couple. Is there but as far as skating basically – And I thought he did some nice things. You know I think he has is out to be better we have desire for him to be better. He’s always a physical player a does a nice job in that regard still get up to speed on some of the nuances of the guard position. Will expect him to continue to be a player on the rise as I’m sure he does too. My name you talk about offensively getting him improve on. There’s a reserve Ryan Clark how much does does that help and the potential – Harrison that they hear a lot of hitters go – I’m I’m not – so that it is. If it wouldn’t give any credence to salute to my expectations in terms of quality play a back up the butt of deposition. Obviously those guys capable help and – the quality veteran players they know how to play. Specifically Ryan’s case not only his play but his communication and leadership. – that remains to be saying – assume anything or are those folks and helping guys. And I get them prepared to play and alternately expect them to play an acceptable level. Obviously this week – to be included in their march. Whether or not James is remains BC. That there’s some place. He had these advantages – talent whenever possible you – You know you gotta play football utilize all notables obviously he’ll be defend him one of you know we’re not – away from. A confrontation but – same time we understand. His reputation as well earned and deserved. Our original affirmative ways to get – really – positions. Because he’s been somewhere or that everybody knows who he is what it doesn’t. It’s difficult. You know I can’t speak for the other people’s perspective in terms of their overall awareness of where he is aware he’s capable of doing obviously we have a desire to utilize him. And – utilize a special skills and we’ve done then in and flannel continue to do so. It’s easy just a couple times now the last few years what does he hadn’t repertoire. You mean – three. You know I don’t I don’t know that he’s added anything at that they’ve always done a nice double play to his – which is his accuracy his mobility he creates when plays break down. They moved – they moved the pocket by design. He does good job of that but it is more than anything over the last course of the last couple years. – probably improve and become a mature player and a leader which most quarterbacks do with time. Raiders last night it must sound pretty early and had some problems you have a what was your emergency snapper – what you plan. Is – not James there’s. – I didn’t see that last night I heard about it obviously. In the National Football League the guys. Obviously you have great depth snapper position is a problem that probably 32 teams. We feel comfortable options. – cars and regarded – time. Jay is future as he talked about whether. Yeah you’re. It. Yeah. Be without right – here and you talk about what they do. Anymore only. It’s much different than it looks tonight. Well I’m not gonna speculate they hadn’t played here 2012. So I’m not gonna assume their contributions from past years. – mirrored – contributions here this year we’re excited and anxious of course to get those men on the field. – we fully expect to live up to their reputations but did not put – on – on the – give me. And verbal assistance. Like – plays I believe like you guys use three wide outs like three quarters of the time obviously those three got a pretty good players. That just winning game one hole or do you like that lineup to help the majority of time. Bears to two questions both. Obviously we we feel comfortable what I wives who group not only three but four. On Jericho Cotchery is it is it is a valued member of our group. And of course the waiting game unfolded. Their personnel group was of was a consistent 14 we felt like we’re capable move the ball wells an asset to – so we utilized. Like if it’s probably. You know as any aspect of all there for you guys. I did not. – Coach Jason worlds. Had the exact – into the game housing programs with a wrist. You know I thought I was generally pleased with the overall level of conditioning I think that’s a concern we. Excuse me we talk about a guy dismissed the quality at that time here whereas. His quality of play needs to be an upswing you know in terms of detail a bedevil – he’s bright young guy. We expect him about a solid contribution force. – was not a would just had to start from that perspective. Or. Ball. – You know it’s not my job to evaluate the officials are not going to there prefer keep my – in my pocket. And do they do.

You don’t have to read the whole thing. Just pick a part. It all sound ridiculous.

It could be worse for the Browns. They could be Miami :frowning:

Very impressed with Bendon tonight. Nice to have a run game now.

We have a new owner, so it can only be getting better. Atleast they never went 0-16

Well if you had the Packers D or Kicker than you did good tonight. Bears were a little of a letdown tonight after last week.

I had Packs D. Gave me 21pts! While Cutler had 2pts. Incredible.

Green Bay came out with a strong defense tonight. Not only did the pass rush shine with 6 sacks but coverage was fantastic. Benson is a sight for sore eyes. He may not be Forte but he can move the chains. The passing game did seem to sludge up some but nothing I would be concerned with. Excellent game. Played like champs.

7 sacks for Cutler, ridiculous. Then again, that might be the highest for the rest of the season… good thing it happened early so that O-line can get their shit hammered during practice.

Anyways, I’m really not surprised by the Packers D (gave me 21 pts as well!), I don’t know why so many so-called experts were down on them after one game.

I really wished that the steelers beat the broncos last week…beating them in a home opener is going to be extremely tough. The Jets played great last week, but still didnt get great pressure on Fitzpatrick. Giving Ben time to throw to those receivers sans Revis is going to be very bad for the Jets. On the other hand the Stillers running game looked horrible, though Dwyer looks like a player.

Steel Nation your my go to Steeler guy…whats your prediction.

I say 28 - 20 Steelers

One more thought about last night’s game. I watched some clips of Cutlers press conf. last night and it really made me realize how fucked up that situation is. One one hand, he is no leader. He carries himself so poorly and has a ‘fuck it’ look on his face constantly. On the other hand, his blocking is just shitty as hell. Like I hoped, GB took advantage of that and shut down the passing. I dont know what the future holds for Cutler but I have a feeling this may be his last season as a starter.

LOL at Woodsons’ post game interview.

I think that SF/GB week 1 game was the cause of maybe the most overreaction in the entire league. I swear nobody that broke the game down on radio/tv cared to note that the Packers were within 8 and driving before a fantastic pass breakup ended the game. SF did indeed look good, but people acted like they had just won 44-13 over a team that many picked to make a decent playoff run(oh hey wait that’s what Baltimore did, and almost nobody got hyped up about it, ESPN even gave them enough respect to put them at #3 on the power rankings…). On the flip side, others acted as if GB’s offense had died, Aaron Rodgers was now terrible, and that their defense would never force another turnover(what they had become known for) again. How dare they only put up 22 on what will probably end up being the best D in the NFL again.

Well, they only put up 16 on the Niners D since one of the touchdowns was scored on a punt return that had two separate, distinct and very obvious blocks in the back, which are the only two reasons the guy scored to begin with.

If not for that missed call (one ref actually saw one of them and threw a flag and then it was inexplicably picked up) the Packers are still down by 16 with less than a quarter to play. The game wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicated and anyone who watched the game could clearly tell who the better-coached, better-prepared and more physical team was.

I won’t even mention the obviously-horrendous call on Perrish Cox for pass interference on Jermichael Finley on third down in the back of the end zone. There is every reason to think that if real refs were calling that game the Packers might have only put up one touchdown, one field goal and one two-point conversion. But alas, they weren’t so the score ended up being a poor reflection of how much the Niners dominated Green Bay from a physicality and game plan standpoint.
