NFL 2012 Part 2

Okay let’s just say I don’t want them to win?

I don’t get the hate for the Packers at this point I guess. But I’m not much on hating teams. I’m not a fan of Jerry Jones, and I didn’t like the Raiders under Al Davis (dirty bastards), but that’s just because the owner/GM sucked and in one case led to a team that was pretty dirty. I don’t know why I’m expected to hate a team that isn’t the one I root for.

I will say though, I think it’s really weird that Vick’ll never live the dogs down but we gave Lewis a pass on homicide…

Man Im really pumped about the Niners/Packers game coming up this weekend. It is probably the best matchup of the 4. SF and GB have some great history. '95, ‘97’, and '98 are some of the better recent matchups.

Although Joe Webb didnt know what the hell was going on last night, he did show that GB is vulnerable to read option. With Kaepernick at the helm, that will probably be our weakest spot.

But if San Fran comes out with zone coverage to limit Rodgers(like they did in Week 1), they will be leaving Harris and Grant free to do damage. Its amazing how balanced Green Bays offense is now. Im not used to it. I would like to say that we can limit the run game now, judging from last night(Peterson 99yds) but I believe that had more to do with the passing game being close to non existent.
I think a lot is going to depend on how well Justin Smith plays. I’ll tell you one thing though. That guy is about 49 times the man that Ray Lewis will ever be. Lewis was out for most of the year with the same injury that Smith is going to suit up and play with after missing just three weeks.
Ya hopefully(for yall) his tricep doesnt give him fits. Especially with the load he usually takes with double teams.

Yeah all that pushing is going to really upset it. However, all the pulling and holding he gets away with every game probably won’t be nearly as painful.

These wild card games were meh. I was also shouting for Shanahan to put in Cousins in the 2nd half, the 2nd quarter was very telling of what RG3 was able to do… which was nothing. Couldn’t run, couldn’t even plant his foot well to throw. But Shanny fucked up and RG3 got hurt even worse, and now there will be a media shitstorm on how Shanahan and I can’t wait for it.

OK so on this WC weekend I went 1 for 3 in my pick’em predictions, pretty shitty. Here we go round 2:

Broncos > Ravens
Packers > 49ers

Falcons > Seahawks (upset of the week, at least IMO)
Patriots > Texans

lol

@brockandsalk According to http://ESPN.com , there are 11,240 tickets available for Sunday’s game in Atlanta. Quite the sports town.

I was 2 for 4, oh well. I completely agree with your picks this upcoming week.

Could it be cause he is white?

So back to important things. Playoffs. Leave the TMZ shit for another thread please gentleman.

I got:

Texans > Bengals
Green Bay > Vikings
Ravens > Colts
Seahawks > Foreskins
4-0 On to next round

Broncos > Ravens
SF > GB
Falcons > Hawks
Pats > Texans

I know this is all the top teams, but Broncos are primed. Pats will repeat with a closer win over the Texans, Wilson’s run will end.

Honestly the hardest game to pick is SF vs GB, and I am only giving the edge to SF cause of home field. GB’s defense is still shaky and Kap’s ability to run is going to give them fits.

The AFC games are going to be blowouts. I agree with those two picks.

It’s those NFC games that have me wondering too. Especially the Atlanta vs Seahawks. If the Falcons are soft against the run it’s going to be a long day for that defense. Lynch is running over everybody in his way. That dude is a joy to watch run.

Biggest disappointment of the weekend was the Ravens victory. Flacco and Boldin were on fire. I’m used to seeing Boldin drop the easy ones and make the tough catches look easy. Unfortunatly he caught everything. I don’t think Lewis caught one pass.

Cue up another week of Ray Lewis nut hugging on NFL network. I’m about ready to throw up. He did have a good game yesterday though, I’ll give him that much. Him dropping that easy pick made my day lol.

I’m right there with you. I called my dad at halftime and we agreed that if Shanahan is going to commit to an old Devner Broncos style offense with a run-heavy scheme and drop back passes, Cousins needed to be in at the start of the second half. If Cousins was just some regular backup I wouldn’t have thought that way, but Cousins is proven, healthy, and fresh. RGIII was dinged and half of his bag of tricks was rendered useless. Do you want a chance at the Super Bowl? Then all ego and previous game-plans need to go out the window and you move forward with your best chance of winning.

Shanahan didn’t execute very smart decision making in the second half and the Skins didn’t even sniff the endzone.

Go Hawks though, damn they’re a fun team to watch right now, and Wilson might be the best in the league right now when it comes to getting balls to recievers on that funky right-to-left sideline fade. It’s not an easy throw, being right handed, throwing across the body (often on the run), and leading a reciever putting it in a location where the defender cant get to it. It’s impressive.

He’s made that throw in key situations both against the Skins and the 9’ers now, it’s a dangerous weapon to have.

Packers better put their big-boy pants on this week. They had it easy against Minnesota in my opinion what with their zero experience QB and so forth.

Vikes played with a QB Brad? I thought that was a comic relief stand in

This, dude is a stud. If not for AP, he would be getting much more, and deserved coverage.

The Falcons better come loaded for bear because they are going to have their hands full. And you are spot on with Lynch, that guy is an animal.

Yeah poor Joe Webb didnt’ have a prayer. Those passes were either 500 MPH right into the ground at the recievers’ feet or way over the heads.

Kinda like a preview of how Denard Robinson is going to be in the pros.

You’re right. He played college ball at Cal so I’ve known of him/watched his career for a while now.

Dude was also a fuckup of the highest caliber until he got to Seattle and Pete un-fucked him.

What he’s doing now is pretty remarkable. Like watching Edge James re-encarnate but meaner.
