I hope the Bears hire Chip Kelly and trade up the draft for Geno Smith when he comes out. As much as traditionalists will lament Chicago should not deviate from its historical defensive focus, where has that gotten them lately?
DA bears need to become an offensive powerhouse if they want to ever beat a Greenbay or a san Fran because let’s face it, the niners are a better defensive team as a whole even if Chicago does have a couple or pro bowl defenders.
You get Chip Kelly and Geno Smith and you have the foundation to build a team that can bring Trillinois back on the map.

I had hip waders when I first started steelhead fishing and struggled to get the line out far enough to the honey holes not to mention the soakers.
I don’t want to derail this thread but one quick question, are there any bows in California Brad ?

Do me a favor, re-read this post, and do it in a sexual nature.
Many a lol’s were had by me just now. Particularly:

LOL! Now that your a father, how many times a week does the wife say " it feels like I’m taking care of TWO children now!". For me it was minimum three times a week.

You can’t run a Chip Kelly offense with the O-line being what it is. I’m not so sure we even have the personnel (speedy guys) to run it. Not to mention, the latest sources are saying Kelly is off to the Browns (that should be exciting w/ Trent Richardson there).
I highly doubt we’ll trade up (and we shouldn’t) for Geno Smith while we have Cutler who is good enough to be an NFL starter, and gave up draft picks last year to get Brandon Marshall. First pick should be an O-liner if there’s any decent first rounders left… thinking something like LOT Eric Fisher. Maybe even ILB Eric Minter to groom under Urlacher (if he stays) or a TE like Eifert b/c apparently, Kellen Davis was identified as one of the five worst tight ends in the NFL.

Totally agree. If the Bears spend their first pick (shit, their first SEVERAL picks for that matter) on anything other than offensive linemen they’d be absolute fools.
Cutler is a total fag but he could be pretty good if he was playing behind an actual offensive line instead of whatever the fuck they’ve got there now. Forte is still legit when healthy and Brandon Marshall is a fucking beast. They should be looking at guys like Jonathan Cooper or Barrett Jones (if he’s still available) or something like that in the first round, not a fucking QB who will probably be something between Akili Smith and Vince Young when all is said and done.
So the Cheifs QB will be? Smith? Kolb? Vick?
Yea good question, he drafts one, I mean the have the first pick. I think he is done with Vick and Kolb.
hmmm, yeah the QB class isn’t what is was last year. I like Smith for the position. New place, new coach, new system would be perfect for Smith.

Honestly, I’m surprised you don’t respect him more Matty, didn’t you do some time yourself?
To me, your guys’ sentiment is parallel to the hate Kobe Bryant still gets by being called a “rapist.” There’s some similarities between Kobe and how Ray Lewis is viewed by some (the devil’s advocate bunch). Both are one of the best athletes in their respective sport and both were initially booked on serious offences - rape (Kobe) and murder (Lewis). However, both were cleared of wrong-doing on those heinous charges and while Ray Lewis may have actually committed a crime (by association), both men have taken long journeys of redemption that has seen them become better people.
I see this too with Michael Vick. Look at the Lomas Brown/Scott Mitchell situation now.
Redemption is a strong word but I believe Ray Lewis truly redeemed himself. I judge him for who he is today and that’s a LEADER of men.
Good gosh, get some perspective. As much as I love football, in the end, it’s just a GAME. His “leadership” made no real difference in the world.
I don’t think anyone is talking about Ray Lewis making the world a better place. But he is an all-time great and inspirational player, as evidenced by public sentiment and that of his peers especially.
I used to hate Ray Lewis for the afore mentioned reasons, but after time, I think he’s proved himself as a man committed to change for the better. People will always hate him for what he’s done, just like Vick. But he has done good things since and has never gotten in trouble again. So I have forgiven him.

You should have stopped at “Cutler is a total fag”
I really thought the Bears were gonna be awesome this year. Guess I forgot that they didn’t have an o-line…Those can make or break a team. Trust me…I’m a Cowboy fan…lol

Agreed with both posts. I really dont like Cutler as a person(judgindg from what other close to him say) and as a leader. But he has shown to be dependable enough so they can focus on their larger issues. That O-line is dire need of work and I think they really need a new O-line coach along with 2-3 quality draft picks. They should also focus on the defense as well.
