Regarding #6: There is no way that Smith ends up in Arizona. The 49ers would never trade him within their own division, unless they think the guy has absolutely nothing left or the Cardinals blow their doors off with a trade offer.
Shit, that is a good point. I didn’t think about that…

Hmmm. I’m not about to take back my prediction, but safe to say I think you are right on this one.
I hope I’m right, but the other thing to consider is that the league knows they have to trade him before April or else his salary kicks in for next season. I think. Don’t quote me on that. They could still trade him I suppose, but it might entail taking on some salary or something like that, or else just release him outright and buy out the contract for about a million, I think. I’m not sure how that whole thing works.

Regardless, Arizona is the LAST place I want to see him go. He isn’t a great QB by any means, but he would definitely improve the Cardinals and the way the NFC West is now (arguably the toughest division in the NFL, especially when considering they have the best record outside of their division in the whole league) I don’t want to see any other teams get any better than they already are. I miss the good old days when the division was the laughing stock of the NFL and the Niners had no problems winning the division something like 19 times in 20 years.
Yea nobody ever trades a QB in division
I didn’t say it never happens asshole!
hahahaahhahahaahahahahahaha

Sorry you are correct.

Here is what I think, I would trade him if I ran the 9rs to Az. You know what they will get, you know his ceiling and all his issues. You would keep Az fucked for years.

As a Miami fan it’s refreshing to actually be looking forward as opposed to be looking back.

Tannehill has shown some good signs, I don’t think he will be an elite guy but I think he will certainly be good enough to steady the ship for 3-4 years or so.

And for the first time in a long time we have a head coach who I have faith in.

The GM though, well…

I know his contract is mental but Arizona to take Sanchez?

No way Az will drop the $ on Sanchez, they still have money tied up in Kolb.

Az may say fuck it and just draft one.

I dont think Wiz can take a chance with another bust at QB. He has kept his job only because that Defense
MattyXL wrote:
I hope he wont for his sake, I nice warm Arizona would suit him well, Larry Fitzgerald will think Sanchez is fucking Joe Montana compared to the filth he has to deal with.

Heres how you can save him.

Get NFL caliber receivers
Get NFL caliber running backs
Get a NFL caliber Offensive Coordinator
Get a NFL caliber Guard

He is not Aaron Rodgers, or Brady or Brees.

BUT if you surround him with SOME modicum of talent you can win with him, he has proven that.

Unfortunately, he will never be treated fairly in NY, he is too polarizing of a figure.
Kolb is better than Sanchez. Hell, everybody is better than Sanchez… Then again, the Jets are were careers go to die. They are the Mets of football.

This, pretty much is what I’m saying.
Doesn’t a good team make every QB look better? That won’t make him a good QB. That being said, I think he’s totally rattled in NY, he has no shot of being good there. And as long a Rex is the coach, nobody will succeed. I am not sure I have seen a coach with less control over his team. I cannot BELIEVE they are bringing that nimrod back next year.
The fans should run on the field and run him out of town first home game next year.
MattyXL wrote:
AND ON TOP OF IT they bring Tim Tebow in…you guys do realize that at least half of the time when Sanchez was doing well they would bring Tebow in for a series…FOR NO FUCKING REASON other to have him run into a pile.

Not many QBs can be successful with Tebow breathing down your neck and Arena League talent around you.
Are you stumping for Sanchez? And you are right, with those kind of coaching decisions practically anybody would be doomed.
MattyXL wrote:
I really tried to avoid this thread once his name came up.

I feel like Im getting Trolled lol. Soon fucking Pat will chime in because he just hates the Jets just because.
Oh, so now I am “Fucking Pat”? LOL!

I don’t hate the Jets, I hate their leadership… I can’t stand Rex, I think he’s the worst coach in the NFL. I can’t stand the man. What a moron!

And just to rib you:
Tebow! Tebow! Tebow!

Do I think he would ever succeed on the Jets? Hell no! But he will be somewhere.
farmerson12 wrote:

I cant see the Jets picking up a pricey QB like Vick. With Sanchez’s gaurantee and the dire need for OL and WRs, I dont seem them ponying up the money it will cost to get a Vick or even Smith. What does that leave them with then? No clue.
It won’t matter who they get as long a Rex is there.

By steady the ship do you mean mediocrity instead of apathy?

After all, if the guy doesn’t have what it takes to be an elite quarterback then all he’s doing is prolonging the inevitable. The way the NFL has slowly changed its rules, if you don’t have an elite quarterback you may as well be a sack of shit. It’s better to be horrendous year after year than constantly finish above .500 but short of the Super Bowl. That’s what I like about what Washington did in the offseason. A lot of people say they’ve hamstrung themselves by losing so many draft picks, but the reality is that every team is fucked until they get an elite QB, which RG3 looks like he’s on the way to becoming. It’s a shame really, what the NFL has become.

I love watching the games and all that, but really, the league is a fucking joke when you get down to it. They’ve placed so much import on the QB position that unless you have an elite there, you’re hopeless. Every one of these passing records and receiving records that have fallen the last several years are complete fucking jokes.

Look at the hits that Montana took in the 1986 and 1990 playoffs for example. Those hits would never happen now because they’d be a 15-yard penalty. I’m not saying guys like Brees and Brady couldn’t play back then as well, but the fact is that they didn’t play back then. As far as I’m concerned, there’s QB’s from Montana’s era and prior and there’s everybody else. None of these new records mean anything anymore. It’s like the steroid era in baseball.

Unfortunately I agree, it’s just that with only 1 half decent QB since Marino retired (Pennington) It’s been quite the wait for Miami to finally take the plunge on a QB.

I would have been completely in favour of trading half the draft away to get RGIII or Luck, which years ago unless your name is Mike Ditka you would have thought was idiocy, which goes to show just how important the position has become now.

Montana is the best QB I’ve seen play the game incidentally. Marino probably the best pure passer but Montana just made the position look so damn easy

Come on Cowboys! Come on Cowboys! COME ON COWBOYS!!!

I’m on my way to the 49ers game in about 10 minutes. I just realized that this will be my last game ever at Candlestick since I will not be able to attend any of the playoff games this year and I won’t be in the country for next season’s games.

The end of an era for me. I love the 'Stick, even if it is a total shithole. So many memories. Arguably the most historic stadium in the entire NFL. Home to the two greatest players the game has ever known, including the greatest QB ever (Montana and Rice). I’ll miss that shithole.

I’ll be up at the 49ers game today, making damn sure we get this win.

I’ll also be rooting for the Vikings big time today, hoping that they can get the W.

Right on Brother!

Huge loss for the Texans today. They might not get a first round bye now.

AP for MVP!!!
