NFL 2012 Part 2

Back in the day, we used to do game day picks, I haven’t seen that this year, but I will start:

DAL < CIN by 14 - I don’t think the Cowboys can over come tragedy.

PHI < TB by 21 - Philly stinks

STL < BUF by 3

CHI > MIN by 7

ATL > CAR by 6

TEN < IND by 9

NYJ < JAC by 6 - Jets defense better than people think. Over shadowed by terrible offense. Sanchez benched, Tebow inactive, Mcelroy to take over and make it close.

KC < CLE by 10

SD < PIT by 7

BAL < WAS by 7 - RG3!, Flacco under performing massively.

MIA < SF by alot - SF complete team, Kap to have a good game.

NO < NYG by 10 - NO secondary to blow it.

ARI < SEA by a million - Wilson rocks!

DET < GB by 6 - Suh destined to do something stupid.

HOU > NE by 3 - Texans a more complete team. Nail biter.

Welp, those are my picks.

It’s Tebow. If he wasn’t on the team, nobody would even notice. Which is probably the only reason they brought him in. To get the free advertising.

Chargers will fire AJ Smith and Norv at the end of the season… FINALLY!!! This is 3-4 years overdue but I’m glad.

While they’re at it they need to get rid of Rivers.
Ill take Norv as my OC and Rivers as my QB here in NY
Norv will make a good fit wherever he goes as an OC. He has made some pretty stupid calls this year, but probably from having too much on his plate as being a head coach.

I’m not giving up on Rivers yet. He does have a terrible O-line where both Tackles are out for the year which doesn’t help. He still seems to make some stupid mistakes. If he can rectify those bad mistakes he can put himself back to where he was two years ago.

So go ahead and take Norv but not Rivers.
I think Rivers is way overrated. That being said, replace him with who?

Your list is funny. How Quickly people forget how good Rivers is.

I agree BJB, Rivers would be awesome in NY…

I would take Schaub, and Wilson over Rivers in a heart beat. I agree that Kaepernick just has not played enough to know for sure, but his potential is sky high.

This post in no way is meant to sweep a tragedy under the rug as anything other than a tragedy, but I continue to be absolutely confounded at NFL(and other pro sports) athletes driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Every team in the league has contracted driving service for their players, and then there’s obviously the forms of transportation that ‘normal’ citizens use like taxi’s, limos, or sober friends.

I get that drunk driving in general is a large, general issue, but I find it even more confusing that pro athletes who have so much to lose, and so much more available to them to deter having to do so, continue to put themselves in this situation. The headline “NFL Player involved in fatal drunk driving accident” is far too common an occurrence.
Me too, I mean if you are going to party, take a limo. Wouldn’t that be more fun anyway? I don’t get it when people who are living a dream are so willing to blow it for such stupid reasons.

Agree with both of yall. Immaturity and irresponsibilty. Its no secret that the majority of pro players cannot manage their finances worth a shit.

Its good to see Wilson getting a little respect. I’ve been pretty impressed with him this year. I think some credit is due Carroll and his staff as well as they have done a good job breaking him in slowly but opening up the offense a bit more each game. Wilson just seems like he’s making more big plays and less rookie mistakes as time passes. I just like the direction he’s moving.

x2. Big fan of Wilson. I wanted see him stay home and backup Rodgers but Im glad he was given an oppurtunity to start. Im looking forward to next season for Seattle. The only downside is Flynn. Although he didnt win the starting spot, I think he would be a solid starting QB. I hope he hops on with another team like Arizona next year.

The Hawks are killing Arizona. Things are going to get interesting if the Niners lose to Miami.

Pat your picks were way off my friend.

Pat did pretty good with the Hawks/Cards. Its one of the worst first half beatings I’ve ever personally seen in pro football.

Edit: They just announced most take aways in a half ever for the Hawks (6) and most points in a half (38-0).

Yep watching redzone and Hawks look great today.

Jesus talk about playing down to your opponent. Fucking Wallace, over one hundred yards, two TD’s and I still want to strangle the dude.

What makes it worse is Cincy and the Ravens both lost.

Also, Rivers in not a top ten QB after all. I was talking though my ass previously.

Chargers pull off a win when it doesn’t even matter anymore!!! I don’t get this team. With nothing on the line they play good, they are so bipolar. Steelers looked flat today. That sort of fumble that went into the endzone and the Steelers player just stood there and stared at the ball while Jammer jumped on it for the touchdown. It only took 18 years to win there again, haha.

Also, LOL at the Cardinals. Has a team ever started 4-0 then lost the rest of their games? I feel bad for Larry Fitzgerald. Such a talented WR with nobody to throw him the ball.

The Cards QB woes are the worst I can ever remember for a team, and I’m a Cleveland fan. They’re going to end up drafting Barkley at the 3-5 pick or something, and he’ll end up sucking(what’s with USC QBs doing awful in the NFL? Coincidence? Systemic problem? I totally see him having a non-factor career), continuing the problem for another year at minimum(a problem I knew/know all too well).

The best QBs I can think of to come out of USC were Pat Haden and Carson Palmer. Palmer is basically an above average QB and Haden was in the 70’s. Barkley had a pretty good year, but people thought before the year started he was the front runner for the Heisman. I’m not sold on him.

Anyways, you are right about the Cardinals QBs being terrible. Skelton was so bad today that had to put Lindley back in. Perhaps they could sign somebody off the street who might do better?

It’s just one of those years for the Lions. Ball slips out of Staffords hand when no one is around and it gets returned for TD.

The Ravens losing makes it worse. Cincy losing makes it better. Still alive for the 6 seed, but now have pretty much no shot at the division. Didn’t really have much of a chance anyhow since Baltimore has the better division record.

Raven fire OC, promote a dude that probably isn’t any better (he had Peyton in Indy)…

Why?

Holy crap, by a mile…Never do that again

Good thing I didn’t go to a bookie, I’d have to hide in a rice patty in China somewhere.

Wow! I was so wrong it hurt. It was a weird day in the NFL. My birds got embarrassed and quite frankly gave me a little worry about the play on offense. They better straiten that shit out in a hurry, it was the 4rth week in a row the offense looked weak and disorganized. I get it happens from time to time, but 4 weeks in a row is a little worry some, especially considering the part of the season we are heading into.
I am afraid Matty Ice is not confident in his throws right now. we could have Julio and White wide open down south and he does a 5 yard dump the Rogers… I am a little worried, I need to see these guys play better, a lot better.
