That was the most ridiculous thing I have seen ESPN air(the little I watched before switching to another source to watch the press conference), ever, and I watched The Decision…
Skip Bayless is such a tired act now, I can’t fathom how he has become so popular that their ratings are so good as to concentrate even more programming on him alone(they obviously wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t making them money). It truly saddens me, because Cold Pizza/First Take has gone from one of the absolute best sports shows on, to some bullshit live message board for his character to display itself.

Yeah I have a pretty stiff aversion for anything to do with ESPN, mostly because of that guy.
I’m a CBS Sports guy for headlines. Deadspin for the gossipy side stories. Deadspin is where I saw the big about Skip live-tweeting.
We tried to send him to the Jags but “he” gave input that he preferred the Jets!
That claim was rescinded. We’ve had NFL network on, non-stop. It was clear he was given no such choice. They shipped him to the first takers.
Ummm sorry Pat but the claim was not rescinded.
We do have a huge he said she said going on between both sides. But for Tebow and his “brand image” (endorsements) New York is the place for him to be (until a football team lands in LA again).
I heard it again last night on NFL network, the Broncos made the decision.

Ha! I like ol’ Skip. You guys can’t peer pressure me! Of course, I don’t watch him that often, but I liked him when I saw him.
Of course the last time I saw the program was after the Super bowl, and one of the numb nuts next to him was claiming Eli was a batter QB than Brady because he won the super bowl. Of course, ignoring the fact that the Pat’s had the second worse defense in the league and their two best players other than Brady were two short honkeys, one with a bad leg. It was a pretty easy argument to side with Skip on…

Deadspin is fucking awesome. That site along with /sp/ is usually where I get my sports news from and they are usually the first one to get in on it. Dont ask me how but usually social media is the fastest source of news.

I know we dont really have any Browns fans on here but what do you guys think they will do with there pick?
I kind of keep up with them due to Colt
The city is ready to riot because sources out of Berea(where the Browns offices are) are saying the Browns are likely to either trade down(again…) and try to grab Floyd later on in the draft, or grab Claiborne.
Now, I’m not so against Claiborne, and I don’t think Blackmon is the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice, but holy fuck if we don’t draft Blackmon I just don’t know what the organization is thinking. If the trade down talk is real though I think I’m going to quit being a Browns fan, just ignore that football exists in Cleveland, concentrate on Cavs/Indians/Buckeyes.
I’m ok trading down to get more picks, Heckertt has shown he knows what he’s doing in the draft but i dont want to trade down out of the top 10. Michael Floyd looks like a stud, and has gone under the radar so we might be able to pick him up and get more picks out of it.
If we dont trade; I’m ok with Claiborne at #4, or Kalil at #4 if either are available, we’d have the best O-line or the best DB pair arguably in the league which is never a bad thing. Blackmon looks good, but i think Floyd looked just as good and could probably be had later on.
Drafting Richardson at #4 would be a horrible idea, i cant subscribe to taking a RB that high in the draft considering how many other holes our roster has, and his “minor knee injury”. Not worth the high pick, especially considering if our O-line is full of studs, you could get someone off the couch to run over 100yrds.
Great website for Cleveland sports, can be narrowed to Browns specific posts.
While McCoy has given no indication that he can become a franchise quarterback, the only way the Browns can truly evaluate him is to put quality talent around him. In a perfect draft, the Cleveland’s first three selections would be (in no order): running back, wide receiver and right tackle. And, unlike last season, McCoy will have a full offseason in Shurmur’s offense. If McCoy fails to show improvement, there will be no more excuses or chances for him."
And re: those recent salary cap adjustments:
According to NFL Network’s Albert Breer, NFL owners voted Tuesday to keep the salary-cap penalties against the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys.
With one team abstaining and the Redskins and Cowboys not allowed to vote, the resolution to keep the penalties intact was passed 29-0.
That means the Redskins will lose $36 million toward their salary cap over the next two seasons, while the Cowboys will take a $10 million salary-cap hit. The NFL found them to be guilty of front-loading contracts prior to the no-cap 2010 season, despite being told specifically not to.
The next step for the teams may be taking their claims to arbitration.
I don’t think the Browns should move around in the draft unless they get some real sexy picks from another team. At #3 they’re definitely in the bridesmaid spot, with no real leverage for someone to get up and get after talent that will be on the board. Not in my opinion anyway.
If Shurmur can run the ball confidently that decreases Colts’ work load, and that’s the best way to see if he’s going to really be a solid QB or not. Bringing in Kahill? I don’t like it.
There are mocks out there that have Blackmon going to the Browns, but do any of you all like that move? I don’t. WR’s value is better found in the later rounds. You draft a first rounder who is only involved in maybe a dozen or so plays per game? Granted, there are game changers out there like Megatron, but how many 1st round WR’s did DET go through to get him? The Cowboys got Bryant but is he really worth a first round pick with what he’s done on the field?
Get Richardson and you have a beast, with a serviceable line he’s going to be all right, especially since Pitt and B-more’s D are getting older.
Heckertt told ESPN, according to their ticker, that he doesnt want to trade below #8. Which is a good thing imho. But taking Richardson that high is just more risk than im willing to stomach. He could be a stud, like Adrian Peterson, who will only play for 4-5 years before blowing a knee out? OR get a stud DB, or OL, and have that position locked down for 10yrs. The shelf life on RB’s is just too short to take that high in the draft.

Every thing you said is logical and makes perfect sense Aggv but you can’t deny the excitement of a running back that gets them out of their seats, especially in the AFC North.
Being a Steeler fan myself I love me some run game and no way I want the Browns pick to Richardson.
edit/#1,Browns need to keep McCoy from being killed.
