NFL 2011 Season Starts Now

Vince Young to the eagles…

I dont understand how the Jets cant be considered SB contenders, especially if this Nnamdi stuff comes to the fruition.

I guess Ill take the under on the fish going 500.

I wish I could be discussing this more with you guys, but works consuming me (in a very good way).

I’ll be here in spirit. I’m damn glad the NFL is back.

BEANS, sack up and join the T-Nation Fantasy League. It boosts testosterone levels by 57%, that’s a scientific fact.

Saints get Sproles for a 4 year deal. He’s more durable than bush, and they will use him for punt and kick off return.

No shit. I get back on and its 2 pages thicker. Hard to keep up.

Sidenote- Nnamdi isnt going to Jets. They arent going to spend the money on him. Ill even bet on that.

^^Disagree.

How much would you like to bet?

I would say bet him a gay Avi, but farmer already has that.

New to this discussion, but my 2 cents on the upcoming season:

I’m a Broncos fan, but they still have tough times ahead and too much rebuilding to do in this shortened offseason. I liked Orton and am not sold on Tebow as a pro QB. Broncos will suck this year. I still think the Chargers take the AFC West in spite of the evaporating effectiveness of their coach and the loss of some of their biggest stars in recent years. The Raiders are the Raiders until they prove otherwise, and the Chiefs have made a lot of nice moves in the past couple years, but their coach and QB are both terrible investments.

I hate the Jets but think, even if they don’t sign Asomugha they probably have the most and best peices in place for a Super Bowl run. The biggest drawback is their penchant for douchebaggery, which typically does not translate into championships in the NFL. Overall a bunch of loudmouth clowns, but I like the potential in Sanchez as QB. We’ll see. It looks like New England is trying very hard to stockpile their own collection of douchebags themselves. They may have squeezed a great season out of Moss a few years back, but Ochocinco is a different type of receiver, and I just have a feeling that they are putting too many dickheads in the locker room.

The NFC North will be the most exciting division to watch. I’m a fan of McNabb and think he will fit in well with everything else Minnesota has going on. I don’t expect too much drop-off from Green Bay. Detroit is on the rise and have doing a lot of good things lately. They may be close to a playoff run if they can stay healthy. I don’t like the Bears and don’t think Cutler has what it takes to be a championship QB (that’s the Broncos fan in me not liking his attitude), but as far as they got last year, I can’t really see a big drop-off from them either.

Good post.

Of course, that paragraph in the middle makes me hate everything about you.

“What you said was very spiteful, but it was also very brave and very honest and I respect you for doing that. But the content of what you said has made me hate you. So there’s a layer of respect, admittedly, for your truthfulness, but it’s peppered with hate. Hateful respect.” - Aldous Snow

I agree that Arizona gave up way too much for Kolb. The track record for hyped second-stringers with potential but limited experience getting big opportunities with a new team is not good. But teams keep doing it.

Too bad, I loved the team that Arizona took to the Super Bowl, but now it’s just Larry Fitzgerald and bunch of nobodies and questionable personnel choices since Warner retired. It would be nice to see Fitzgerald’s talents and personality be highlighted somewhere where he has another chance to win before his career winds down.

I agree with this and Coach Wiz is banking on his ability to coach Kolb up. I give it two years, I also think Kolb will be better than people expect. Just a feeling after seeing him play Dallas a few times.

If Beanie Wells has less than 1000 yards this year then its an official bust IMO.

From twitter–

@michaelombardi: Just updated Nnamdi situation–49ers telling people they are out…Right now, Dallas and Jets, Ryan brothers are battling

@michaelombardi: Both Jets, Cowboys can recruit, as someone once told me, Jerry Jones “could talk a cat off a fish truck” true

dolphins outta the orton sweepstakes… they signed matt moore for 2 years 5 million…

broncos played hardball and lost… although they might not have wanted to trade orton anyways…

Dude I would be pissed if I was a fin fan, Mat Moore is a back up. I hope for your sake Vinnie Heine steps up.

You know John I never did Twitter till this week, just because I get quicker updates as vs the websites.

Man I would love, love to hear the phone calls between Nnamdi and each team. That would be very entertaining.

He will be a Cowboy, you forget he used to play for Rob Ryan in Oakland.

srs… seemes like dolphins are set as henne being the starter… moore had a good run at the end of 2009 winning 4 of 5 games but last year he looked like shit…

how can u push ure developmental qb when u keep bringing in scrubs for him to compete with…

I think the owner really wants the GM and coach out, since Parcels left it has been shaky. With all the celebrities etc I think the owner wants big splash Gruden, the chin or somebody like Ryan. If Henne fails there is his reason to pull the trigger and stay looking good for the fans.

Vinnie who would you rather have, W. Magahee spl or Marion Barber to compliment Bush?

yea… seems like thats the case… ireland isn’t bad and the team is still solid but i think they want a head coaching change relatively soon… the owner was pushing for some “excitement” this offseason which could explain bringing in reggie bush (which im not totally against)

but if henne fails this season i think its the last of sparano and ireland… gruden would be awesome…

I hadn’t seen that about Orton/Miami…I thought it was pretty much a done deal. As a Broncos fan I’d prefer to hold on to Orton for at least this year, but his trade value is probably highest right now, and it would suck for him to stay with the team now knowing that Elway and Co. don’t really want him. I hope the donkeys can get some good value for him somewhere else, but I also hope for Orton’s sake that he ends up in a good situation. I’ve been a bigger fan of Orton than any other QB Denver has had since Elway retired.
