^ Am I just being to much of a NFL guy?
How you can lay it all at Norv’s feet? You have to look at the body of work for AJ and sorry I just do not agree that he would be hired soon.

Deej I see what you mean, and AJ has made some weird choices in the draft and letting players go (which I’ve already discussed in this thread).
I think the trade to get Rivers and the subsequent move to draft Shawne Merriman and Louis Castillo the following year made him look like a genius. To any and all Chargers fans and their opposition, SD was dangerous with bigtime swagger.
But Merriman was a PED user. Castillo had already popped positive for PEDs before the draft. It is what it is, but ultimately those two guys (first rounders) were cheaters. AJ was fooled on Merriman and negligent on Castillo.
But Norv? You might have a soft spot for him since he was the brain behind your Boys’ superbowls, but in reality he’s SOFT. Chargers training camp is famously powder-puff and they come out loose around the edges and far from dominant. There’s been more than one season where they’ve had to play catchup and hang a bunch of responsibility on Rivers. Norvs’ overall tenure at SD has been a good one, you can’t knock the seasons they’ve had in the AFC West under him. But I can’t get behind a coach that isn’t on the hunt for aggresive dominant wins and factors in some wiggle room sub par performance.
Norv has never come out in public and second guessed AJ’s moves either, and I think to be contentious there has to be some push and pull between the coach and the GM. Norv is clearly AJ’s underling, especially after how they shipped Marty out of town.
I mean, come on. You go from having a lethal running attack to promoting a barely serviceable fullback into the running game? Injuries schminjuries you gotta get off your ass and find a running back.
Ugh, I could bitch about the bolts all day, which is probably the big reason I’m looking north to San Fran as my West Coast team from now on.
^ I agree about Norv, he is probably just one of those guys who are a made to be a great OC.
Look for all the teams to be “soft” at the beginning of the year with the new changes in the CBA and practices.
My point was how can you fire Norv and not fire AJ? To me they both need to go and Norv will be an OC somewhere and I think AJ needs to sit for awhile. His head got to big for his britches.

And thats fine. But to be that way when there’s every opportunity to prepare your team to the fullest? It’s a detriment to any team unless they’re stacked with prime performers who can overcome lack of conditioning and full contact camps.
Look at the New Orleans vs Green Bay game this year, or the Ravens vs. Steelers game. They HAD to be ready for each other. SD had the Vikings at home, so a win was almost a foregone conclusion, but I’d be willing to bet the bank that if SD had to play any of those four teams they would have been smoked.

Maybe because Brad they are just not that good. Same as Dallas, they are paper champs.

Indeed.
Norv doesn’t have the balls to be a GOOD NFL coach. He just doesn’t have the passion. Sorta like Cutler last yr. What makes AJ so bad is he drafts/free agency the wrong kinda players for Norv.
I don’t think it helped w/Rivera leaving either.
Overall I’d give a nut for those powder blues, but not the guys wearing them.
Smith should be fired for the Bob Sanders move alone.

So who is to blame? AJ and JJ
AJ can be fired JJ has to die. ![]()
JJ is a whole other ball of wax.
They should just get Craig James to be the GM, he appears to be bulletproof in Tay-has

Lol.
I know about JJ and his issues but WTF am I going to do as a fan after 30 years? Pray he dies? ![]()
If we do EVER win a SB again under him then it really will be until he dies no changes. I just hope that MAYBE he will bring in a GM consultant or get desperate and hire a GM.

LOL Pittsburgh wasn’t even ready to play the Colts practice squad week 1.

Aymen to that, pretty much unwatchable.
So SN, looks like the Stillers should make the playoffs, even after a SB appearance. If somehow they can get a first round away game in Denver who knows what could happen. I just don’t know how many injuries they can sirvive at this point.
If Woodley can’t go and Harrison is out that leaves Worilds on one edge who’s okay and my boy Timmons on the other side. Earlier in the year when I got my wish and had Timmons on the edge it didn’t work out as well as i’d hoped. Maybe slide Sylvester out there for the hell of it. Lebeau will probably dial up more corner blitzes me thinks but that will leave the middle more vulnerable that it already seems to be.
Should be a quick game with all the running plays and very physical.

Good grief, all this time I thought he was just a meddling owner lol. I’ve said many time here I love the guy but man the pressure and expectations he brings to that team is unreal.
Could you imagine if somehow this years SB turned out to be Cowboys vs Broncos lol. The intrest and storyline’s it would generate would be once in a lifetime.

Lol Boys and Broncos. Yea who know maybe Jesus wants that.
^ The real Jesus isn’t that much of a homer DJ. The true God of football or the guy who thinks he is wants GreenBay vs Pats.
Score of that imaginary game? 62 to 59, Pats win on a double OT field goal.
Fuck I hate Roger Godell.

Double OT would require both teams not scoring for 15 minutes, not happening =p

This is amazing, I could only get 5 or 6 back flips myself but this guy 11? WOW, do you see how long his arms are?
