NFL 2011 Part II

there’s something off about atlanta… they just can’t seem to sustain momentum and once shit hits the fan they panic and lose concentration…

watching the game last night it seemed more like Packers realizing they had to start playing at the next level more so then atlanta not playing…

Agree, there is an ‘it’ factor missing. Hard to place the finger on it.

What a way to come back in the 2nd half. 5-0 baby. Thanks Capers.
They didn’t come back, we gave it away!

The first half, we kicked ass. Somebody switch the teams at half time, or put them all on heroin and we got 2 first downs the 2nd half. The dichotomy was incredible. I was stunned to tell the truth. To come out like we did I really thought we could take them. I had no illusions about the fact that the Packs were going to fight like hell and it wasn’t going to be easy, but all the sudden it 180’d. I can’t blame the defense this time. They were on the field almost the entire second half. Matty suddenly started passing in 1rst down instead of running to establish the play-action. We could by a 1st down and we could not stop their 3rd down conversions to save our asses. When we blitzed we were effective, why we didn’t keep blitzing is a mystery.

Yes, I am wounded… For 30 minutes, we were Super Bowl bound. Problem is the game lasts 60.
I will say this - the first half was a smoke show by Atlanta, truly. I’m not quite sure how well you were able to track personnel match-ups and changes last night, but on the broadcast it was very evident Atlanta had a highly scripted offense on the first drive, with cute little match-ups and gizmo plays that had a snowflakes’ chance in hell of maintaining the rest of the game. Capers is an adjustment king.

The drive where Grant fumbled (which is extremely rare) left them with a short field for a very easy score. It was never really even that close of a game after that.

The defense looked to be doing decently, but on second watch it really was also just a smoke show with a multiple pro-bowl left tackle going down early. The back 7 just looked god-awful, and the front 4 looked okay because of edge pressure they were getting off of two ROOKIE tackles!

I don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer, but your team’s first half heroics was a mirage last night. I still think they have the capacity to be a very solid NFC team, but I don’t see them beating out New Orleans, or probably even Tampa Bay without re-committing themselves to Michael Turner.
But we had 60 minutes of smoke planned. Further there is nothing fake about pushing two touchdown drives down the field against GB.
I agree that Turnder, Rogers, Snelling needs to be the corner stone. That is what works for us. Passing on 1rst down doesn’t
The problem was execution in the 2nd half we had cute plays but we could not execute the second half.
Cute play or not, we played off of Turner like you say in the first half, we stopped running in on first down in the second.
I really, really hope Julio doesn’t have serious hammy issues.

Ryan just needs seasoning and the team still has to gel, Julio is special but he is still a rookie.

Still think the Defense is missing a few parts.

Actually, in addition I am not sold on the offensive coordinator. I think Ryan runs the offense better himself.

Good point, when he was running the hurry up in the first half looked impressive. I had to go to bed so couldnt see the second half.

OK, guys, let’s get busy and put in your Detroit/Chicago prognostications.
Chicago by 7
or
Detroit by less than 5
or
I don’t care as long as total points are under 45

Honestly, I’m thinking Detroit 31-13

MEgatron brings in 2

Put my predicts in TK

Detroit 35-21, Detroit is due for a long time of payback.

Wait where are they playing?

Okay they are playing at Ford field.

So is stick with my prediction.

I am totally drinking the Lions kool-aid. I think it will be with in one possession, but I am on the Lions bandwagon.

Su is going to be all up in Cutler’s grill. I think the defense for Chi will start strong, but I predict they’ll be on the field for 40+ minutes and will not be able to sustain the constant attack from Detroit.

I want the Lions to win, but I think the Bears will come through.

Also, Mario Williams out for the year with a torn pec. That’s too bad. Texans can’t get a break.

I’m watching NFL live on ESPN right now and it’s funny to listen Merril Hoge and Tim Hassleback argue about Tim Tebow. Merril Hoge hates Tebow so much it’s rather funny.

I know heard this a few hours ago, sucks.

Brooks Reed has to step up.

We should get on PayPal and do a pool…

well you all know where I stand on who I WANT to win… but I think the Lions will take it, they are just a stronger team in so many ways.

FML, even the fans are against me.

Look all I need is a cover and/or a smashmouth defensive battle.

UNDER 45 FUCKING POINTS

I know you guys don’t care, but the weeks worth of shit talking in my office is priceless.

24 - 20 DA BEARS!!!

Tonight could go so many ways.

I fully believe the Bears’ best defense for the Lions’ offense could be Matt Forte. We’ll see if Martz is interested in calling a competent game or not.

I’m really not making a prediction (cop-out, maybe,) but I could see a blow-out by either teams or I could see either team winning a close one. If I were FORCED to make a prediction with a gun to my head, I’d say…

Chicago 27, Detroit 34.

Chicago 24 Detroit 17. Book it. I cant stand Da Bears but the Lions worry me waaay more. But both teams want this real bad. I just see an upset.
