NFL 2011 Part II

So… Jets/Pats week and teh only news I saw from Camp Rex is him screaming at his players.

So… If the Pats D can actually pull this one out their ass (unlikely I know) do you worry Sexy Rexy loses the lockroom?

He made Chad Johnson look like a superstar… Better than Brady in that respect.

He is better off retired.

Nope. Guys like him know how to play the game.

BUT he may lose the town or upper management.

Baby Shotty will be the first to go if things really turn sour.

I am just wondering if Brown will release him?

I dont blame him for wanting out of Cinci Rikers I mean Bengals.

Schotty needs to go now & promote Callahan.

The biggest problem for teams like the Jets/Pitt is the no pad hitting after 2pm bull-shit. Those two teams in particular need to have that kind of practice to keep the run game in check. & after week 10 no pads at all… WTF!!!

FUCK Brett favre-beans. That cat is a piece of shit for the interview he gave yesterday. He tore up on Rogers. What an ass-hole. Egomanical, dik-pic sending, inbred, loser.

This. That’s all I’ll say (still harboring very bitter feelings.)

Troy Aikman apparently posed this question, should Devin Hester be considered as a viable HOF returner?

Um… FUCK YES. Watching that cat for years, I can definitely say he should be a shoe-in HOF’er. There was no one else on the field who I was more scared of against the Bears, or many other teams.

Special teams is 1/3rd of the game, and it is important. Hester single-handedly won games as a returner. I believe he absolutely deserves it… down the road. Obviously not a 1st ballot.

Not a chance. I don’t like Ryan’s consistency as a coach, as much as I do like him, though. If you keep putting your team on a pedestal it’s only going to make things worse for them. Needs to take many notes from Mr. Bellicheck.

Also, by the way, Rex Ryan is NOT Sexy Rexy.

No then you have to consider other special team players like kickers. Fuck kickers.

Is anyone going to watch Tampa/Indy tonight? Might get to see a Josh Freeman/Blount highlight film.

Or just some terrible football.
I will not, plan on watching a movie with the wife instead.
I’ll be keeping an eye on Tigers Baseball, but other than that I’ll be doing family time.

Seems the Monday night games are overkill after having football from Thursday night-the weekend. It at least seems that way to the wife. haha…
My wife loves football, so it’s on from Thursday to Monday. Man I hate to fight about that. I get enough shit during baseball season. Football season is sacred.

Ugh! That sucks! I hope you got some, you deserve it.

Ugly win last night. If Tampa continues to play like that, they will end up last in the division.
I don’t have a problem with that. But yeah, it was to close for too long. They should have rail roaded indy.

Gotta say, it wasn’t dignified. Yeah, Rogers has a good team, but he is a friggin’ awesome QB. Top 3 for sure. If he gets to play long enough, Favre has something to worry about for sure.

I just need him to be sick on sunday…You know a nice stomach flu…nobody can play through that. Not that I wish him bad, but I am worried. And I have good cause…Green Bay looks awesome, the Falcons look somewhat less than awesome right now…

That is what I’m saying, he puts a huge bullseye on his teams back, and they take the beatings… How long, including getting screamed at, before Cromatrie tells him to fuck off, and becomes the bad apple. Ton of ego’s on that team, who have been great together so far, but…

I mean it is only a matter of time before Hanesworth and Chad Johnson implode on teh Pats, lol… Every team has shit attitudes attached to good talent in tehir lockerroom.

IDK, I hope he doesn’t fuck it up, because it is very entertaining, and I like that the division isn’t just one team or another’s, there is competition.

The Jets offensive line are gonna make the Pats look like the 86 Giants. I get a bad feeling, Ryan is slowly losing his appeal in NY, his boasts are starting to ring hollow (Started to ring hollow for me this summer when he claimed the jets were SB team when he had no idea who was gonna be on the roster)

While I as proponent of the Jets offense playing to their strength on offense, which is their receiving corp, they have no choice but to run the ball, with that being said the only shot they have of the Jets having a semi effective run game is to use a three headed monster with LT Greene and McKnight.

I dont really see the Jets having more big egos than any other team out there, other than Holmes and Cromartie and possibly Bart Scott, the Jets are a pretty vanilla group.
MattyXL wrote:

haha, I think you over estimate the Ptas D dude, lol. It is pathetic.

If you take away teh one breakaway 40 yarder, they stuffed the raiders pretty well.

Knock wood The only thing the D can do is stop the run.

I defer to you here, I have a biased view in this instance, and can admit that, lol.

I love Rex’s style, partially because coaches like that often go down in flames, and that is just as exciting as when they are winning.

Since Greg Cosell’s coaching-tape analysis was so well-received last season, I thought I’d post up some of his latest film room recaps

 • Vick 24 yds on 3rd + 14 in 2nd quarter was classic Vick: He left the pocket with no pressure whatsoever, missing opportunity to hit wide open Avant for what would have been a 30-35 yd play but then ran for 24 yds, beating the spy Willis
 • Asomugha skill set does not fit the slot, He’s long + fluid but does not have the short area quickness + change of direction needed to defend the “2 way go” that slot receivers have; Asomugha needs the sideline
 • Vick very little sense of how his QB drop must synch up with the depths of the receivers routes, Thatâ??s why an OL will never look good playing in front of Vick but Vick is so special athletically he can at times compensate - Harbor 16 yd TD a great example
 • What continues to impress about Newton is his pocket command + willingness to make stick throws into tight windows. Newton maintains his downfield focus when he moves, He has shown the ability to throw downfield effectively off movement
 • Cutler’s mechanics are still terrible: Bad footwork, Throws off balance; Really shows up on routine throws - Too much inconsistency + erratic play, Too much of a week-to-week QB
 • Helu not a comfortable zone scheme runner at this point, Compared to Torain he looked slow + uncertain
 • Steelers “power” run game was consistently blown up in the 1st half by NT with quick penetration to prevent LG Kemoeatu from pulling
 • Texans cumulative pressure got Roethlisberger playing fast + perceiving pressure, Frenetic movement caused him not to see wide open Ward within design of route combination on 3rd + 9 in 4th quarter - It became a random play + Ward took a vicious shot
 • Foster 42 yd TD a great cut back zone run, Polamalu has to make that tackle
 • Ryan not a confident QB right now, Not willing to throw it down the field unless it’s clearly defined
 • Ryan an erratic intermediate to downfield thrower, Not consistently accurate, Misses some throws that are there
 • Falcons played a lot of “cover 3” to the Seahawks 2x1 sets, I’m not sure you’ll see that as much v. the Packers because of Rodgers ability to throw seam balls
 • Nelson 50 yd TD was great design, Play action boot by Rodgers out of straight “I”; Nelson ran a post/corner/post on S Dawkins â?? Same play as Jennings 49 yd TD v. Panthers 2 weeks ago
 • Packers on 2nd series showed an “amoeba” look out of dime sub-package with 6 players all standing almost single file between the offensive guards

Does Cosell still have that early morning “all 24” drive to work slot with Steve Czaben? I used to listen to him on XM radio. Really respected his knowledge of the game.

James Harrison out 2-4 weeks. Well my request for more Timmons from the edge came true lol. This has me excited, if he performs it might wake up that brain dead fuck Woodley, he looks lost out there this season.

You have a radio right? Just put the tv on mute and listen to the radio broadcast of the game.

This is another consequence of kickoffs going back to the 35

Now its basically scoring play - commercial break for review - score allowed + PAT - commercial break - kickoff - touchback - commercial break - 1st and 10 from the 20

So yeah, its nothing nice.
