NFL 2011 Offseason

I think the kick off rule is really going to change rosters up a bit. Teams arent going to need as many “special teams” guys and will probably be able to keep another OL guy or two on the roster… that could possibly help quite a few times.

I dont like the rule but its not getting rid of ST. The more exciting special teams plays are punt returns anyway.[/quote]

I definitely agree. Gadget guys like Trindon Holiday are no longer going to get any attention during the draft or rookie FA signings.

To be honest though, I’d rather have football with altered kickoffs then no football at all.

On a more interesting note, any rookies NOT drafted during the draft won’t be allowed to sign with NFL teams as rookie free agents without a CBA in place.

The UFL has already stated that they will be aggressively pursuing such rookies, like the Legarrette Blount’s of last year. Very interesting.

Its cool that the NFL has some competition, even though its nowhere near the scale of the NFL, hopefully the UFL helps keep them honest.

im a proponent of moving half the ncaa div 1 games to sunday and telling the nfl to have their lockout…

^ I could deal with that.

u end up missing half the good games anyways when watching college football…

I’d be fine with that. Kind of like having a nicotine patch to help ween myself.

Also saw today that HGH testing will be instituted under the new CBA. It will be interesting to see how that starts to play into injuries and player performance…

^ I saw that too. do you think it will get into the agreement?

^ I dont know if each actual substance that is tested for is on the CBA.

Apparently the 49ers are going to make a run at Bulger. The coaching brothers (John, Jim) have been doing a decent amount talking…

I’d rather have Palmer than Bulger, but Bulger will come at a much lower price. I guess Bulger could provide a good bridge if we take a QB, but honestly I’d rather watch Alex Smith putter around than Bulger.

Plus, Smith would give us a better shot at getting Luck!

Dez Bryant is being sued for a jewelry tab, what the hell

HAHA, no idea but I really hope Miles is not in money trouble, didn’t he sign a massive contract?

^^ hahahahaha it also said dez in the chicago tribune today so im thinking theres a lot of jewelry robbin goin on.

p.s. watching espn and bam theyre talking about dez being sued for $850,000

^ Well of course Serius could have got it wrong it was like 6 oclock this morning. Are people just piling on now, Dez bought some diamond studs and some place is wanting to get free publicity? I mean the kid is not hurting for money.

How many guys do you think will play for the UFL? Or arena leagues?

^ I think some of the practice squad guys will flock to the ufl but I dont really think any big name guys are going to

^ Wouldnt think that cause they have enough money for training etc. Just curious.

not too sure about that. but i did read an article about jason babin considering the UFL, hes a pretty big timer.

If they were smart, none of them would even consider it.
