I agree and thats why I’m glad we spent both of our first round picks last year on OL. I’m not sold on either of the top two DT’s in the draft… they’re definitely no Sue’s.
Darius is a beast and could be a rock solid 10 year vet. Suh is a once every 20 years type of player. I keep telling WC you need PASS RUSH. You could have Revis and Deon Sanders, if a QB can sit in the pocket for 20 sec even they will get beat.
Their pass rush last year wasnt bad (it was better than Dallas FYI  they were tied for 14th in the league in sacks which is in the top half of the league… but yeah a pass rush is important.

Pittsburg and Green Bay were 1 & 2 in the league in sacks… but look who was tied for 2 with Green Bay (San Diego and Oakland) so sacks dont always = Wins
Good points, I have not watched enough San Fran to say for sure about your DB’s. I just know that most teams are built up front first than the back end.
agreed. You cant expect to win consistently if you cant protect your QB and cant get after the other teams QB. Thats just the basics

^ I still think this is probably the worst QB class I have seen in a few years. I feel bad for Rivera, I would just say fuck it and take a DE/DT.

Im not sold on the QB’s in this class either. Scouts are loving Gabbert but i’ve never seen him play lol. I wasnt a big fan of Matt Ryan coming out of college either if that tells you something

Gabbert was in the big 12 and is a first year starter. He didnt exactly light it up. However they are going off potential. Matt Ryan didnt exactly light it up at BC. I just am skeptical of potential to many Ryan Leaf’s. Mallet just comes off as another Matt Jones. Now Locker may just need coaching and foot work, but old habits are hard to break. Cam is a project.

^^fixed.

Did you see that Locker ran the same 40 time as Newton but all his shuttle times were faster and his broad jump was 4 inches less? Everyone talks about what an athlete Newton is but they arent saying that about Locker.

Im not really sold on Locker either but he could be good if given time and coaching. He’s a smart quite hard working kid (hes dating my buddies cousin who plays softball at UW)

Hahahahaha, I think Cam is just immature and from what it sounds like didnt really have the greatest role model as a father. Watched all the combine, I honestly would feel safer with Locker in say the top of the second round as apposed to Cam in the top 10.

Now say Cam goes to the Bills at #3 and sits for a couple years and develops with Chan Gailey, he may have a chance. But I think the same thing about all QB’s, it is just very, very rare that you get a guy at QB that you can plug in 1st year and he take you to the SB.

I love the Draft. I FUCKING HATE the change in the schedule. I used to love to have a big BBQ on Draft day Saturday. Now its all fucked up.

the sucky thing is that no teams are patient enough to sit their QB’s for a couple years (exception being Rogers)

I think most (if not all) QB’s would benefit from a couple years of development before being thrust into the starting role but that just doesnt happen in todays WIN NOW society.

I love draft day as well… I just wish it was quicker. Teams dont need 15 minutes on the clock. they should cut it down to 10 max

They keep it at 15 for trade talks.

I think with a rookie salary cap this may change this approach of win now to a certain extent. Teams will actually be able to take the best TALENT as apposed to the slotted can not pay a guard 50 million dollars as the first pick they have to do now. This should allow for years like this for QB’s with 2nd round talent to actually be picked in the 2nd round and they sit and develop.

#1 Stop the run,
#2 Smash the QB,

Pray the DB’s can cover a little.

Steelers D 101.

Edit:

Steeler O 101,

#1 Pray…

A locker room cancer with zero character as a mentor for a young guy with existing character issues? Sounds like a match made in heaven.
That’s why I’d like Patrick or Prince in the first, DE in the second, and DT after that.

I don’t think we’re going to hang onto Franklin, so there will be two holes to fill on our d-line.

As for a QB, I do not want to draft one. I’d prefer to sign a FA…

and wait for Luck next year. lET ME DREAM!

^ hahahahaha for your sake WC I hope it happens for you man.

It’s basically a done deal from what I’m reading.

^ I keep hearing the rumours but no confirmation.

Also hearing that the 18 game schedule is really going to happen, PA has basically folded on that but they are pushing for increased roster spots, IR changes etc. Fuckers just need to get this done, giving me a fucking anxiety attack. If I dont have football my wife will make me go shopping with her at the fucking mall. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO please lord I know you are a Cowboys fan make it happen.

Weird I heard the 18 game schedule was off the table.

I guess we will know for sure when it’s over.

I know that is what I had heard and then last night and this morning that is what I was hearing. Especially after Hines comes out with what he said.

18 game schedule sounds great for fans, but players careers would be cut in half. DJ I am with you, I’m starting to get antsy about this.

Yea looking on NFL.com does not help, if they dont at least have an extention agreed upon they are desolving the union. Then it will be in the hands of lawyers, fucking sharks will keep this shit in the courts for the next 6 months.

Damn I did not know that, that sure makes it a lot shittier.
