So he may actually sign again a franchize tag next year just to keep the % down on what he can actually pay. Strangely enough he owes the owner of the Falcons like 21 million, if I remember correctly he will end up paying less if he makes less over the next 2 years. After that he will want big money. He is not going anywhere honestly unless he gets hurt. [/quote]

I could really say a lot with that comment, but I promised to be good on this website.

Sorry I have been getting more and more obsessed with football over the years. If you ever have questions that you dont want to put in the thread you can always PM me.

first i just quoted the last one from this convo so it may not pertain to what im going to say.

secondly, I lllooovvveeee football talk.

thirdly, my statement. This is to both DJ and SP. SP i hope this does not confuse you further lol. DJ i was a little confused by your statements regarding the 110% rule. To my knowledge when a player is franchised it is EITHER average salary of the top 5 players at said position OR 110-120% of your previous years salary and the team must offer whichever number is higher. Maybe that is what you said but i didnt read right, or correct me if im wrong.

In the National Football League, the franchise tag is a designation a team may apply to a player scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. The tag binds the player to the team for one year if certain conditions are met. Each team has access each year to only one franchise tag (of either the exclusive or non-exclusive forms) and one transition tag. As a result, each team may only designate one player each year as that team’s franchise player.

There are two types of franchise tag designations: the exclusive rights franchise tag, and non-exclusive rights franchise tag:
An “exclusive” franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player’s position as of a date in April of the current year in which the tag will apply, or 120 percent of the player’s previous year’s salary, whichever is greater. Exclusive franchise players cannot negotiate with other teams.

A “non-exclusive” franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player’s position in the previous year, or 120 percent of the player’s previous year’s salary, whichever is greater. A non-exclusive franchise player may negotiate with other NFL teams, but if he signs an offer sheet from another team, the original team has a right to match the terms of that offer, or if it does not match the offer and thus loses the player, is entitled to receive two first-round draft picks as compensation.

I had a very entertaining idea. I have posted the first round draft order. Quote it and for your FAVORITE TEAM ONLY write in the player that you would like to see them draft.

For subsequent people who fill it in, make sure you quote the most recent version so it’s constantly getting filled in.

I want to add to this, but I believe the Jets will take the best available player at that number. I think they’ll lean towards def. but if Julio were available I think they would snatch him up. Using Julio as example only.

i want the phins to trade down…

Don’t be a fairy, fill in your pick!

It’s obvious what Pittsburgh needs. Cornerback or an OL. Pouncy’s brother Mike would be pretty cool to get if he’s still available.

Picking so low is boooooring. Having Mendenhall slide to them a couple years ago was great but this year who knows.

Picking high in the draft as we all know is a double edged sword. Yay we get to pick high and be excited about all the choices but booo cause it shows we sucked balls the year before lol.

A rookie cap will blow up all these mock drafts anyway won’t it?

^ I look forward to a rookie salary cap so we can actually have teams go after what they need in the draft instead of the first 10 picking only what is economically friendly. When was the last time a guard was taken in the top 10? a Safety? The mock drafts next year are going to be all over the place. Will be fun to watch.

Damn, ok Mr. Hardass… I hope you trade your pick to Oak. for Robert Gallery. HA!!!

^ Hahahahahahahaha really Print. Cam is going #1 Rivera is going to try to be a HC for only 2 years.

I think San Francisco will make a run for Carson Palmer since he continues to say he wants out of Cincy. Carson played at USC and would most likely enjoying coming back home to play. That would give San Francisco a chance to win now if they can find a few playmakers in the draft.

First impact linebacker for Giants since Jessie Armstead. I won’t suprised when they pick another DL though or the Castonzo kid from BC.

Ha, there would have to be some serious media drama between now and the draft for Cam to fall that far. We could start a rumor that he a had a sex change?

I was also hoping that Harbaugh would draft his own player Owen Marecic from Stanford. Straight up man beast.

That got me to thinking, how many times do you think its happened that a college coach transitioned to the pros and drafted players right out of his old program?
