Its being reported that this was the most watched TV program in U.S. history. Beating last year’s SB by 3%. And these guys are threating to lock out. Unbelievable.

Sorry man, just have faith in your team and coach.
You still have more SB than any other team.

Serious lag today in this thread.
So anybody ready to bet on who is #1 pick to Carolina?
I say Rivera is goint to go D-Line with Fairly.

How does a sack and MULTIPLE (the word I used, as in more than 1; clearly different from ‘countless’) hits on the QB NOT have an impact on the game? GB ran the ball like 9 times (mostly to the other side), so there weren’t many tackles to go around for LBs. I also didn’t see him getting abused in coverage at all, unlike Farrior, who got fucking whipped all day.
Obviously the outcome is the outcome, but show me where I said “James Harrison did enough to win the game.” I’m not saying the dude should be MVP, just that he wasn’t invisible or poor. He was disruptive at times, just not enough to win. People play decent games and lose ALL THE TIME.
I can handle criticism just fine when it is justified. Yours isn’t. People that played poorly:

So what you’re saying is one tackle & one sack didn’t make him invisible? I’m not looking to give you a hard time Steely, all I’m saying is he didn’t perform to expectations. At least what I was expecting from him. It’s games like these that you etch your name in stone. Personally, & It’s only my opinion, he disappeared through out the game.
I don’t know if I’m justified or not, but I will say when you’re known as the biggest badass not only on your team, but quite possibly the league, it’s not a bad idea to bring a can of whoop ass w/ya.

I’m a little touchy on the subject today. I felt better about it immediately after the game until I heard people talking about it. You’d think the Steelers were the worst fucking team in football today. I hate football fans. You’re either the greatest or you suck, and your team either won because they’re the best or they won because they blew it. It’s never “the other team just played better,” which is often the reality of the situation, and the reality of this game.
IMO it was a good game… steelers just made too many mistakes to come up with the victory. The pass rush wasn’t there, coverage wasn’t there, and too many turnovers. mendenhall’s late turnover (caused by the matthews hit) was huge… esp since u can feel the momentum shifting to the steeelers before the fumble.
Steelers have shown two sides this year, a second half team which wins close games (what tomlin was saying about playing under pressure) and a team that lets his defense win games (jets game)… usually either one bails out the other… yesterday they just came up short.
steel nation is right… GB just played a better game… all these radio hosts saying that steelers partied too much or slept in etc is bullshit… the steelers played steelers football and got out matched… it happens… i think the steelers will be back and they’ll be better for it i think…
they were saying how the game represents the old guard vs the new guard, which i also think is bullshit… the steelers can scout players that can play whether they are young or old… look at their probowl center pouncey he was a rookie and took them all the way into the playoffs and into the AFC championship game… their two rookie wr also proved to come up big when they needed them too… they might need to get a bit younger on def but hey thats life in the nfl…
my biggest gripe is that there’s no more football for the next 5-6 months…
So whenever I post something is when other people post finally pop up. Getting to be a pain in the ass.

I hear ya DJ, I’ll never bail on my team but…
They also can’t expect to get away with such weak man coverage guys. Gay is a gamer but my worst fears came to light in that game, #22 was abused like I knew he would. No pass rush = wideouts get open.
Woodson owned that line of scrimmage untill he was hurt. Lots of what if’s but I think Woodson was on his way to dominating.
Three fuckin’ turnovers, brutal. If I felt like looking it up I would wager that Pittsburgh’s given up more pick 6’s that any other team in NFL history.
I can’t figure out why the offence didn’t try the no huddle more.
They’ll be good again next year so that’s something to look foward to I guess. Hines says he’ll be back which is also good news.
Packers were the better team without a doubt. Their A game was better than Pittsburgh’s B game.
My TV’s going through NFL Network withdrawls right now lol, I haven’t watched one single low-light of the game, no sportscentre, nothing. I also had the day off which made it even worse.

I am prepared for a down year. Historically, Super Bowl losers take a step back the next year. Indy is the first one to even make the playoffs in a long time.
Another thing I am hearing on Pittsburgh radio is that the Steelers “gave the game away”. That’s bullshit. Every turnover was the result of a good defensive play. The Steelers didn’t give shit away. Green Bay took it from them.
BJB, Gay is a UFA so he might be gone but I doubt it. He should come cheap and really had a decent year even though this game sucked. He can be picked on if the other team makes a point of it, as witnessed yesterday. McFadden is no better in coverage, but he’s a better tackler.
commercials were shit.
As a Bears fan, I can’t say I was rooting for the Pack, but wow am I glad that Aaron Rodgers got the super bowl ring over Ben Roethlis-fuck-that-guy-berger.
Just read a article on Revis going to management & telling them he wants Chad. He has also spoken to Johnson about coming to play in NY. Not sure how I feel about this. I like the duo of Edwards & Holmes. Not sure Sanchez’s personality will mesh well w/the Ocho.
Would much rather see them sign their in house free agents & go after Asomugha.
Gotta keep ocho or chad or even better washed up johnson away from sanchez. Resign harris homes and smith . Unfortunately gotta let edwards go. Man could u imagine revis and asomuga … Thats giving me a hardon as we speak
^Agreed on Johnson not coming anywhere near the media capital of the world!
Not sure how we’re going to sign all 15 free agents, but if anyone can make it work Tannenbaum can. I hope they can keep both Holmes & Edwards. W/Cotchery & Keller, that’s a pretty damn good receiving corp.
Imagine that def w/Revis on one side & Asomugha on the other! DAMN! Talk about shut down. Than w/the 30th pick take a pass rusher.

You can’t base the entire outcome of a game on one player. Troy Palumalu at his finest is a heck of a weapon, but the Steelers’ entire defensive scheme was dampened once the Packers figured out how much more “economically” viable it was to pass on them. They played a similar 3-4 zone that Aaron Rodgers had been use to playing against on the scout team for the last 2 weeks and wasn’t phased by it.
Actually, if anything else, I think the Steelers’ defense had a pretty solid game considering some things. If I were forced to put blame on Big Ben. He just didn’t get it done last night, something he’s done reliably for years. Especially once Chuck Woodson was taken out of the game they switched to almost a PURE zone coverage because they no longer had the assets to mix it up with man-to-man. As a QB you have to recognize this and know your options.
Either way, Go Pack Go!
How do you figure the Stillirs played a pretty good def game? If it weren’t for dropped balls Rodgers would’ve thrown for four hundred some yds & had 5-6 touchdowns.
& bullshit to putting it on Ben. The last 2 playoff games the offense didn’t even generate 300 total yds of offense. That team was built w/the def. first. Turnovers & field position led the way for the O to score points. I hold Ben accountable for one interception & 2 bad passes. Overall he didn’t play all that bad.
Well, I probably should have said Pittsburgh’s front seven did well alone. They were bringing a lot of pressure all day, and got to Rodgers a few time on coverage sacks. Considering they spent almost the entire game operating out of the 3-4 while the Packers were in 4 and 5-wide sets… Yeah, I think they did okay.
Anyway you break it down, Tomlin and LeBeau just got FLAT out-coached in that game. I believe that’s the ultimate issue.
why let edwards go? i think he was pretty good in NYC at least he was more productive than his time in Cle
If it comes down to edwards or homes I would probably go w homes. As print said the jets cant sogn everybody and harris is a must
so do they try to keep taylor and tomlinson?
Taylor no shot…tomlison has another year on his contract and imo he should be retained in a lesser role
No way to Taylor. But having LT mentor/work ethic both Greene & McKnight is worth its wt in gold. I can see both Holmes & Edwards staying but someone else that I like (who I’ve no clue) will be axed. They filled the tank this past yr to win NOW. So, gotta start cutting dead wt.
One way of keeping Edwards is to sign Harris to a long term & than tag Edwards.
