News About 'Anonymous'

To me, anonymous is just trying to create more socially conscious people in the world. That’s all.

Once in a high school civics class we were studying about the KKK and our teacher had gotten ahold of a KKK merchandise catalog. Seriously.

Toward the back of the catalog, after the pitchforks and past the various styles of pointed hoods, was a section with bumper stickers. There were some pretty good ones, but my favorite read: Secret Member of the Ku Klux Klan.

The guy that bought that sticker and put it on his car…I wonder…

Was he anonymous?

Good point.

Hopefully, I won’t be attacked as viciously as the Church of Scientology was. I just don’t know what on Earth I would do about all those black faxes and prank phone calls.
What would you do if the hacked into your “top secret files” and sent it to Wikileaks or took down the servers you depended on like they did with Visa or Mastercard?

What you forgot in your deescription is that those kids can achieve quite a lot if they are properly motivated and be it by the ensuing lulz.

And this is why I described them as a loose-knit terrorist organization. Their stated aims are ~anarchy. They just want to break things, and they don’t have the decency to buy them before they do. Or afterwards either.
Yeah well, one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter and so further and so on.

The real question is, if you knew with certainty that someone was involved with them, would you report him to the “authorities” ?
No.

If people want to fight the state, target federal buildings. Don’t target Mastercard. No one ‘freedom fights’ against legitimate businesses. If you don’t like them, don’t do business with them. What Anon did and does against financial institutions is theft, illegal, and I would totally sell out the one person I know who is loosely affiliated with this organization if I thought I could make a buck off it.
YAWN  The banks have worked their way into our lives to a point that you can not be a productive member of society with out them , either we have to change that point or we have to regulate them.

I believe in free enterprise, but the banks are forcing us to use their services or we can not attain a good credit rating

Really? …why would anons pick Guy Fawkes when Guy fought for who they are fighting against? If I was an anarchist, the guy that tried to blow up Westminster to re-establish a Catholic Monarch would be the last guy I would choose.

Lol, idiots.

 1. Start anarchy group
 2. Pick icon that fought for a Catholic Monarch
 3. ???
 4. Profit!

Sounds like a plan.

P.S. Let me guess the IRA is an anarchist group, as well?
Sigh, I think anon are full of idiots too, but even I know the mask is taken from V for Vendetta.
V for Vendetta…about a man who is a freedom fighter…wearing a mask of a man that fought for a Catholic Monarch…TWIST!

Which is why there is only one earthly and just authority on what is the greater good, the Catholic Church. Obviously you guys support Guy Fawkes and Guy Fawkes supports the Catholic Church.

Glad we agree.

True, in US we are forced to use the Federal Reserve System but this has nothing to do with how one obtains credit.

Credit is a function of the supply and demand for future goods versus present goods. People have high credit ratings who do not require credit because they have higher incomes (productivity) and or value future goods more highly than present goods – they are able to save (set aside capital) for future consumption (production). The more one needs credit the lower his credit rating will be. This is independent of any monetary system.

You are reading too far into this. The only thing they care about is the fact that it was in an “anti-establishment” comic book. Don’t look past that and you’ll understand exactly what 95% of anon is.

I guess I give credit where credit is not due…

The reason they targeted MasterCard was because MasterCard stopped allowing contributions to Wikileaks. I think their (Anonymous) actions were legitimate. I believe the truth is more important than any organization. If you censor Wikileaks, you censor the truth - and one doesn’t censor the truth unless one has something to hide.

The internet has allowed people to plug into world politics on a scale like never before. People have access to the internet, and thus, people are becoming conscious of the problems that we have throughout the world. Politics is no longer solely influenced by old douchebags. People are actually starting to give a shit. Especially young people who have grown up around technology. Their voices can finally be heard. And I believe the general consensus is: we (the people) don’t like to be lied to, and exploited. So sometimes… doing the right thing, isn’t doing what’s legal.

I remember going to a certain country during a certain time of the year for a certain religious parade (Spain, Fat Tuesday, Catholic) and I was with my buddy who was black as night and so far from the North he could have been Canadian. To see the shock on his face as to what the people were wearing in that parade was beyond hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing as I totally forgot they wore the white pointed hoods and all that.

You mean nothing like when Stalin thought he was doing the right thing by starving Ukrainian people to the point they would kill and cook their own children? Because you know the right thing to do for your political movement is sometimes screw with people on a major scale so they understand your seriousness and if they don’t obey to your will, you will attempt to eradicate them.

Ah, the joy of being ignorant of docility.

You’re comparing me to Stalin? Really?

Yes, in like but not degree.

Was that illegal?

I am sure some law was passed.

Anyhoo, I love what these guys have done. The Wikileaks thing was awsome and totally exposed our military machine. Fuck them. Freaking war criminals.

Fight the power!

Ah, yes uncritical and general disobedience to authority. I have to say this is likely the product of the protestant reformation.

I thought the US ended up looking pretty good with the Wikileaks thing. Not nearly as corrupt or incompetent as thought.

Yeah well, given the expectations people actually had…
