Hopefully I’m not out of line here but I know from my personal experience of following the stickies to the T really made my first 6 months of TRT much more complicated than it should have been. After the second E2 crash I started to realize maybe they weren’t the gold standard. There are many things on there that are in complete contrast to what would be advised today.
It’s a big tedious ask but hopefully one of the more knowledgeable members cough iron cough (one of the many) could edit/update/redo the stickies to be more in line with what is actually advised these days.
Another option could be rough drafts posted in this thread and then debated by others with the finished product being what goes up.
Yeah, there are some statements in those that are inaccurate. But, there are many differing opinions too and some items I may question may be fine with others. Who decides? Should everything be removed just to make it fair/easier? I’m on the fence.
@highpull
I don’t think removed I think updated. If there’s several opinions on the subject then have several listed. When I read E2 = 22 in my mind that meant that is where I need to be. Same with 1mg of anastrozole per 100mg of T. Turns out that may not be ideal for everyone. Twice this week a new user posted they read that in the stickies (as well as iodine and temperature), followed that and had major issues. It may be better not have stickies at all. I don’t know the answer either.
Agreed. I’m not sure what the answer is either but new members come here expecting to get advice and read the stickies and it seems to be leading them the wrong direction lately. Lots has changed since those were written. We should at least add opposing and more recent points of view on things like AI’s
I think they should be removed until we can get them updated or new ones put up.
I think these great tnation articles should be Stickies. In fact maybe this post can be pinned on top if enough Of us agree. So state ur opinion. Chris colluci listens.
I think they should be removed until something more accurate can replace them.
The stickies totally fooled me when I first got here early last year. I was shocked to find out a month or two ago how much of the information was actually wrong.
The info looks very legitimate being stickied like that. Some of it is not only wrong but dangerous.
I could’ve sworn the sticky post was deleted some time ago, but yes, I agree the info is regrettably outdated and questionable in efficacy (though, to be fair, the reason they were ever stickied in the first place was that the majority of members agreed with the info presented).
Stickies were originally, basically, a group effort with members deciding what was sticky-worthy or not. Things have changed considerably though, both in TRT education and on the forum itself, including the fact that we don’t really have stickies on the site anymore (At one point, almost every forum section had three or more stickied threads of their own).
Long story short, I do recognize that the idea of “Essential Reading for TRT Newbies” needs a major overhaul and I’m working with some smart guys to get something put together as soon as possible.
The previous stickies have now been removed.
In the meantime, any mandatory info you feel guys should hear when they ask questions about TRT, you’ll have to tell them outright.
as a new guy myself, it was pretty confusing reading the stickies then all the recent threads w/ senior members suggesting completely different things. but maybe a simple FAQ would suffice for now?
e.g.
What tests to take,
what is primary vs secondary
how long to wait before changing dosage
Pros/Cons of Insurance vs private clinic
Where/what syringes to buy
how to mix hcg
how to draw
common sides
sides to actually worry about
what is gyno/what to do about gyno
The stickies were outdated and I had to re-educate and contradict the stickies about the E2 sweat spot at 22 pg/mL. The AI recommendations were harmful.
Perhaps only some of the content in the stickies needed removal, some of the sticky contents was helpful.
