New to Nutrition

I’m really new to the nutrition aspect of lifting and have a few questions. i’ve read a few articles and have a general idea on what i need to be doing.

Some stats. im 6’2" 215-218 dpending on the time of day. My bodyfat is unknown, but only a small layer of fat covers my abs. Im guessing somewhere around 15% give or take a few. My metabolism is medium. I would consider myself an endo-mesomorph.

My goals are too increase strength and size so Im not worrying too much about cutting and losing bodyfat, although visible abs would be nice ;).

I just designed a diet plan. 22% protein, 55% carbs, 23% fat, about 3910 calories consumed in 5 meals throught the course of the day. All food are basically clean. Do you guys feel this type of nutritional plan is ideal for size and strength. Be, easy on me, if something is really wrong this is the first diet i’ve ever diesigned.

Thanks in advance

Austin

First off, know that while strength and mass can be gained at the same time… you’re gonna have to go in one direction (training wise). Either way tho, to increase either you’re gonna need to increase calorie intake so make sure your in a kcal surplus. As for macro breakdowns, increase your protein, decrease your carbs (if you do consider yourself an endo-mesomorph), and increase fat. Check out the anabolic diet thread. It’ll take you months to finish readin it, but afterwards you should get a better idea for your kinds of gains

P.S. increase cals slightly at a time. if you overdo it…you’re just gonna add unwanted fat. Oh, and since you’re new, make sure you dont get the idea that eating dietary fat will make you fat. Actually, it will even help you increase test levels… So, start chewing that fat!
