I don’t like the sound of that! I’m on 60 or less carbs per day.

CRP is one thing but the increase in cortisol isnt necessarily a bad thing depending on what time of day the labs were taken and whether the increase in cortisol moved the participants closer to an ideal figure (ie cortisol was low).
FWIW I have been low carbing (under 30g/day) consistently for close to 18 months now and my CRP came back as 0 on a scale of <5.
the low carb group got 50g more protein than the other groups…
protein has massive effects on muscle retention, insulin signaling in muscle cells, and has a much higher Thermic effect compared to the other macros…
In addition to the protein issue, the avg waist size of participants was 40 inches in a mixed male/female group…You can’t extrapolate such results to a leaner population…
There was a study done in the 70s which is much better than this one(protein was controlled among other things)…the study participants were all fat just like this one possibly even fatter…in the study, the high carb group lost muscle mass and lost less fat than the low carb group…After reading the study, I concluded it is very possible that low carb diets are superior for the overweight population…However, I don’t think they are for aspring bodybuilders for a couple reasons…
I’ve seen divergence between obese and normal populations before…Omega 3 fatty acids have also had much different effects in fatter populations compared to normal populations…same with the ECA stack(aspirin showing different results in an obese group vs no effect in a normal group)…
You have to be careful with extrapolation…it can really screw you up…
