New Study: Chocolate Milk

I don’t really know why there is so much hero worship going on. No doubt, most of the contributors are good but people should still think for themselves.

I wish people would stop praising others for the sake of praising others.

I’d probably prefer drinking the chocolate milk to Surge. That stuff tastes nasty.

Chocolate milk + Surge = Bad ass weight gainer. I’m kidding of course, I’ve never tried that.

Monopoly

that’s funny. i’ve been drinking chocolate milk post-workout for years.

That just means you haven’t had enough Surge.

Not recommended. Milk will likely slow down the digestion of Surge, and quick digestion is one of the key benefits of Surge.

Research is always behind T-Nation.

Check Berardi’s double-tap.

Dude, as someone who has followed the industry for years, the choc. milk suggestion has been around for a long time

Yes, even before Berardi’s D-tap. Check some old Men’s health circa mid to late 90’s if you don’t believe me.

Tom Incledon has been suggesting Choc. milk was good PWO forever.

Agreed. This shit was even in old Flex magazines. [/quote]

So then it just supports the notion… athletes are doing it long before research says its okay.

Thats what gets me about coaches that will only coach on what research has proven. Its good to have some but unless you test the lines you’re doing what everyone else is doing.

I think post workout is fine, however, over consumption of milk tends to kill all vascularity. At least, this is what I experienced a few years ago when I was drinking a lot more of the stuff. It’s great for bulking though, infact many of the “old school” bodybuilders drank large quantities of milk.

How does milk “kill vascularity?”

I have never heard that before and am curious.

That’s pretty much like “creatine makes you retain water”. Maybe one day, someone will tell us the secret ingredient in milk that somehow has that ability.

I was trying to be sarcastic, guess I didn’t push it far enough.

I understand that, but the question comes up regularly, and someone may try it because someone wrote the words down. I just wanted nip that in the bud and point out that Surge works best when used straight.

i just dont believe this

you are telling me, that if i have Surge with a cup of milk, and then eat a meal 45 mins later that i will have noticeably different gains than if i dont use the cup of milk?

does TC really say this? is there evidence to base this claim on?

I think anyone making “post workout nutrition” that complicated has just about analyzed this shit to death. There are many people in the world making much greater progress than average who simply make sure they get FOOD in them sometime soon after training.

I am betting there are kids reading this thread who are now ONLY going to either drink chocolate milk or wait until their allowance increases so they can buy shit off the internet. There is such a thing as information overload, especially when you don’t fully even grasp the basics.
