New on Shots, Feeling Weird vs Androgel

I’m 30, had been on Androgel for 3 months to treat low T. Primary symptoms were fatigue, depression, ED. Endo couldn’t find a cause. All my bloodwork was within range, did a full thyroid workup as well. 2 pumps/day of Androgel helped a bit with mood, 4 helped a tiny bit more, but T levels were still at 320ng/dL (on a ref range that started at 280 and went to 1000). ED was a tiny bit better but still not fantastic.

Last Thursday doc gave me a 200mg shot of t-cyp to see how I felt. I have another one two weeks after that. I know the timing sucks, but he wants to see how I feel on shots before letting me a) self-inject b) try more frequent dosing. First two days in terms of libido and mood were an improvement; I got raging morning wood like I hadn’t since the first time I used Androgel. That subsided with Androgel and has dipped in the last few days with the shot. I was overlapping with the Androgel those days as well. This morning was my first day w/out Androgel and I feel like crap. Tired, irritable, sluggish and foggy-headed. Could my body have responded with changes in E2 or other associated hormones this quickly? I’ve also been incredibly thirsty, if that’s at all related. I’d love any feedback. Happy to give more info, just not sure what yet.

You are probably feeling the effects of the T wearing off as well as possible E2 increase…as you know, every 2 weeks is not a valid protocol which is why we recommend no less than 2x/week shots.

I know. This is what my doc wants to do, eventually going to 2x/week shots self-administered. To get him to consider letting me self-inject he insisted on this trial. I know it isn’t ideal. It’s part of a process to get there, though, and so I’m sticking it out.

Now, would I feel the effects “wearing off” FOUR DAYS after the shot? From what I understand my levels should still be high from the shot. That seems quick to be wearing off, no?

Yes it does sound quick, but I dont have a better explanation. Some guys are effected by it more than others.
