Because, I don’t have the money. While my life is being destroyed by a disease, the credit industry is holding me accountable for it. And blocking my access to capital. Awesome country to live in.
Partially. The other equation is the cartel-like behavior from the pharma industry, who buy politicians to help them increase their profits by any means necessary.
If Bernie is full of shit, then why is he so popular with the public? And who cares about corporate tax in Sweden, all it proves is that their social programs are viable.
Stop believing in the free-market fantasies of which the mainstream media doles out on a daily basis as propaganda.
MS. And I had to wait 3 years and 8 1/2 months for any disability. So to the douchebag poster on here that said it was easy. It just goes to show that you have no idea of what you’re talking about. Par for the course on this forum.
That’s because he lives off cap gains.
And I suppose this makes it okay?
Maybe you should ask Buffet.
Which would require CONSIDERABLY higher taxes AND for americans to stop being so fuckin fat and lazy. Neither of which is going to happen anytime soon, hence unsustainable.
I have multiple family members gaming the disability system as of today. Took absolutely nowhere near 3.5 years.
Not to sound like a dick intentionally, but my family is not the cream of the crop, and even they figured it out
Yep. My wife has a relative who has NEVER worked outside of a brief period in her twenties where she got “headaches”, “anxiety” and “back pain”. Been riding the gravy train ever since, she’s 65 now. She also developed a habit of marrying wealthier old guys and waiting for them to die. Nice lady, dumb as a rock. My father also has deckhands figure out this game all the time, they’re usually tattooed lazy idiots.
@Zeppelin795 sorry bout the MS.
People on all sides can bullshit.
Look at the charts:
90s to present:
Current Economic Freedom Index Scores:
Bernie is full of shit.
PS, when someone intending to assume political power makes grandiose statements like “breaking up banks” through executive action, warning bells should be going off in your head. When things like these are taken to the extreme, this can happen:
“After Nelson Mezerhane, a banker and principal shareholder of Globovisión, claimed in a December 2009 interview that individuals “linked to the government” had spread rumors that provoked withdrawals of savings from Venezuelan banks, Chávez denounced him, called on the attorney general “to open a formal investigation,” threatened to nationalize Mezerhane’s bank, and warned that “[i]f a television station crosses the line again, violating the laws, lacking respect for society, the State, or institutions, it cannot, it should not remain open.” Six months later, the Attorney General’s Office seized Mezerhane’s home and shares in Globovisión, while the state banking authority nationalized his bank. The Attorney General’s Office also forbade Mezerhane from leaving the country, but he was abroad at the time the order was issued and has not returned.”
Huh? I’m saying for the 100th time they should be and are on the chopping block because they’re not sustainable. If they aren’t cut they will go bankrupt, period.
I hope so because that’s where they’re headed.
That sucks, truly, but as you know there is no cure for MS. I setup countless grants at Johns Hopkins that spent, no exaggeration, 10s of millions of taxpayer dollars looking for a cure.
I’m a dick to you a lot because your ideology sucks, but that truly does suck and I’m sorry you have MS.
Ya, it does imo.
He’s not answering his phone, weird…
Not that this will be of any comfort, but I know a former Marine with MS that has a net worth well over $10M and they suffer from that awful disease same as you. Money doesn’t fix MS.
You mean like Medicare-For-All which actually saves money.
All helped along by the food manufactures. But this is not a concern as no one is putting a gun to their head and forcing them to choose the cheap and nutritionally devoid garbage they’re selling. Plus they are making money and after all that is the supreme ethic.
A counter to your claim of easy access.
While I had an attorney firm during the entire process it still took 3 years and 8 1/2 months before I got any financial help. So while your family may have “figured it out” it is nowhere near the norm. People wait years for help. Like me. Some wait even longer. Plus I’m not married, have no children so I have no support group around me. Special consideration ought to be given to people who fall into this category. After 2 trials I was finally approved. To think that someone would rather collect the pathetic sum you are given than to easily make more from working is beyond comprehension. You can make more by working at a Target.
And it took 3 years and 8 1/2 months for someone who was diagnosed with MS by 3 neurologists to get help.
His Medicare-For-All plan.
So one of the charts you show states that the U.S. spends more governmentally than Sweden, percentage-wise.
This says something entirely different.
Your chart was culled from The Heritage Foundation. An organization run by billionaires for their own benefit. Hardly believable.
No, that was the exact same chart from the same source. You need to zoom out. (click on “max” for the timeframe).
I did not post any chart from the Heritage Foundation. The only stats I posted from them were the last 2 links. They tally with every other source.
EDIT
I just reread this. Jesus Christ, those screenshots from the Heritage Foundation are not charts. The numbers are RATINGS. Sweden currently spends more by % (duh).
What you have to look at is the TREND.
Sweden’s economy improves with increased economic freedom, lower corporate tax rates and decreasing government spending. It is FAR from socialist. It is a capitalist economy.
- 90% of businesses are private.
- They have less business regulations than the US.
- Corporate tax rates in Sweden are at 22% compared to the US at 35%.
- They have more billionaires per capita than the US.
- High taxes and social welfare DOES NOT make it a socialist country.
If you want to make the case for HIGHER SOCIAL WELFARE, then argue for that. There are valid arguments which can be made(not saying I agree with them or not but this is one part where I will not intervene since the US is not my country.) where you don’t have to resort to calling people “immoral” or attacking capitalism to make your case.
Don’t argue for SOCIALISM. There is a major difference. You lose the argument immediately unless you are talking to kids and young adults between the ages of 17-29. Apparently 30 is the age people normally grow out of this.
Definitions:
Market Economy: Private; Limited government; Capitalist
Mixed Economy: Part private, part state
Command Economy: State controlled; Communist, Socialist
I’m telling you, Bernie is full of shit.
Venezuela:
Venezuela is an example of a complete failure of a socialist state. It has a command economy and is now more or less an authoritarian dictatorship, an inevitable consequence of socialism when applied. It is nothing like Sweden. You really shouldn’t use it as an argument.
And how does this compare to the U.S. banks? When they almost brought down the world economy. Not 1 high-level manger has served time for this(as far as I know).
Wow, they nationalized the bank. How socialist of them. They should have allowed the banks to do whatever they want with impunity like in the U.S. because that has worked out so well for the population.
Doubt it. But we shall see.
No there isn’t but stem cells have shown to be far more effective, with less side effects-if any- than the garbage drugs produced by pharma.
Sorry that you wasted your time and possibly your money in a healthcare system that is designed for profit 1st. There is no real initiative to find a cure only to make money from people’s diseases. It is the reason that pharma is keeping stem cells from coming to the market. As they cannot compete or patent them. It is the reason why they lobbied against medicinal cannabis. They cannot compete or patent the plant only take a few components from it and try and synthesize them to make an inferior drug, that they can profit from. So the healthcare system is primarily set-up to make profits above all else while simultaneously making the public suffer. Awful healthcare system we have!
Your ideology is one that contributes to the suffering of the public in the name of profit. And my ideology sucks. So I’m being prevented from having a good chance to improve greatly by 2 industries in this country. The “healthcare” industry and the credit industry. This ought to be against the law but, when you live in a country that measures your worth by how much money can be made from you, this is to be expected. If money can’t be made from you, you are worthless. Great, huh?
Well, he ought to go to Panama for help. He is wasting a lot of time if he thinks he is going to get any help here.
You ought to bring up stem cells and Panama to him. Let him investigate and make his own choice.
