New Business Failures

Idiocracy Vol II
“Ouch, my co-op!”

I’d love to know how a co-op pharmaceutical company would work?

Massive government subsidies, I’d guess.

Most likely.

Unless they’re using zep’s “Underpants Gnomes” business model.

So, while it’s true that private enterprise helped to “mass produce” the Internet, it’s the government-funded research that started it all.

Isn’t this fairly typical of developments in our mixed economy.
The government makes many of the investments in the very early stages
when it is not clear what the payoff will be and how
long it will take to materialize.
Once the development gets past these early stages where the
the returns are unclear the private sector moves in and
takes the development to its final stages.

The history of the Internet begins with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. Initial concepts of wide area networking originated in several computer science laboratories in the United States, United Kingdom, France.

Were these computer science laboratories private businesses?

Because they are a major source of the shittiness of this country and all over the world.

This stuff would happen far less with Co-Ops. Would the members of Co-Ops pollute the very place they most likely reside? Not gonna happen.

No, wow. Private enterprise didn’t help to “mass produce” the internet. The private sector invented the internet. Taxpayers just paid for it.

Jesus Christ, man.

No.

Go back to the original thread, I already went back further than that to the “father” of the computer.

No, they aren’t. You’re just a jaded moron.

No, it wouldn’t. If co-ops operate a larger percentage of businesses they would do the same shit “evil” corporations do.

Of course, it would. You’re a nieve fool.

It will take time but it will happen, like Medicare-For-All.

While it’s true I’ve never ran a business, the stats of Co-Ops out-performing traditional business pretty much sums it up.

They’ve existed for over 200 years… They’ve existed for longer than C corps, LLC’s, LLP’s, etc…

GTFO.

You’re a fucking idiot.

To you, maybe.

They were sold off as Triple A investments. They were lying to profit.

You do realize that doesn’t absolve the idiots in this country for buying things they clearly couldn’t afford, right?

There are thousands of examples of people having mortgages with payments that exceeded their total income. Do you hold these people accountable for their fuck ups at all?

More avoidance. What more can one expect when the other party doesn’t have a valid answer.

We’ve had this conversation already and his answer is no.

Maybe you haven’t printed these exact words, but all one needs to do is read your posts.

No one here cares if workers pull their resources and own the means of production UNLESS it’s by force.

No, you won’t because you don’t have an answer to defend your position. So just ignore it…

No, it’s because you’re an annoying parrot that repeats the same non-sense no matter how thoroughly it’s been dismantled.

So if the healthcare in single-payer countries is so horrible, how come none of them have adopted a U.S.-style based healthcare system? Because it works. You have posted studies that favor this system for continuing for the benefit of those who operate it.

I didn’t claim it was “so horrible”. I’m simply pointing out it’s not all sunshine and rainbows like you constantly blab on and on about here.

Why would they? Why would their respective governments give up power over that much control over their subjects and, presumably, tax revenue? Put your thinking cap on, man.

Who said it doesn’t work? It works. I’ve never claimed it doesn’t work. It’s just not better or ideal in my opinion.

What?

I just want to highlight this again. This is one of your many problem, which I’m going to continue to highlight. You react emotionally to the statement of fact all the time. I’ve never said single-payer healthcare is “so horrible”. “Horrible” in this case is subjective anyway.

The facts laid out show a) single-payer is not better based on numerous metrics and b) it is not cheaper for everyone nor will it be cheaper in total. You can get your panties all in a twist about these facts all you want, but it doesn’t change what they are.
