I’ve been on TRT for 5 years. I started out at a MedSpa with decent results, never saw the doc but initial T levels were 279. I was started on a course of 1 ml im test cyp 200mg/ml weekly, 1mg arimidex and 250 iu HCG sq weekly. I had pretty good results but it got expensive as being a medspa insurance didn’t apply and they required me to get the meds from them at grossly inflated prices.
Next stop was my GP. I’ll keep it short, but he f’d things up, and I (mistakenly) trusted him for 2 years. No AI and no HCG (and no labs). Hot flashes loss of libido etc.
Recently (1 month ago) After being told that I may have to stop my TRT due to HG and HCTs being too high by my new PA, I started doing what I should have done a long time ago and did my research. As a result I’ve switched to a new Doc who seems to have a good grasp of what goes on. Current treatment is: 50 ml of 200mg/ml test cyp e3.5d, .5mg anasterzole at time of T injection. 500 units HCG sl once weekly.
I’m 6’3" 255
I work out (crossfit) 4-5 days a week and eat pretty good.
Strength gains have been pretty good but weight loss hasn’t.
Things have been better. Flashes of a libido returning but nothing steady. Some clearing of brain fog. I just wasn’t feeling as good as i did in the beginning of the T, for the first couple years I felt great (in general) and had a raging libido.
So, blood test.
As it turns out, I think my T levels and E2 look great. But my Thyroid numbers not so much.
I’m taking 25mg Iodoral and a multi with 200mcg selenium ED.
The doc is out of the office for the memorial day weekend and I’m just looking for thoughts before I talk to him when he gets back.
Thanks in advance
I’m not sure this doctor is any better, HCG once weekly doesn’t make sense with a 2-3 day half life. Most inject 250-500iu 2-3 times a week and some 250iu EOD which is best.
Your free test is high, causing H/H issues. Numbers aren’t the whole picture.
Why don’t you try lowering it a little and see if you feel better.
People have reported that when they came down off the higher end for TT they felt better.
You need SHBG drawn also.
I totally understand wanting to be at the top of the range. But when your at the top, and e2 looks good, but your feeling like shit, you should consider the fact that maybe its just too much test.
I’m sorry, I misspoke. HCG is actually 500iu E3.5 days 1 day prior to shots, which as I understand it should be equivalent to a 250iu shot.
