It’s O.K. to drool, I understand/;-)…Waited 8+ Months for Gibson to release backorders of these Babies. My only gripe is they don’t offer maple necks for em’…Oh well, whut’ da’ Hell, made me happy anyway…
Congrats!
I picked up my first Gibson a few months back.

That’s one cool lookin’ Paul, if Iommi played a LP instead of an SG, this would be it…

If you’re talkin’ about a Floyd Rose tremolo and lock down, no, it doesn’t have one.
I haven’t played a guitar in years, used to mainly play the blues and old rock n roll. I picked up this little bargain cheap and am teaching myself more modern stuff like rock, metal, etc. I joined this site where you get free daily email lessons with tabs, tips & tricks, etc.
I just need to get an amp now. Any recommendations? I’ve always liked Crate amps, but there’s also Peavey, and a whole lot of other brands out there.
I’m looking for something that can give me that real blistering, screaming, wailing sound!
If you guys are interested in online lessons I can reccomend Tom Hess. His website is Online Guitar Lessons, Music Career & Guitar Teacher Training . The forums alone are almost worth the cost of the lessons…I studied with him for about 2 years. Still would be with him, but working full time, my three kids and all their activities and taking a few classes at night kind of left me little time for practicing.

The tone. It is amazing. The one I have is an older model with an EQ boost built in one of the tone knobs.
Have you checked one out?

I have a LP, a American Fender Strat and a Jackson Scott Ian and I’d have to say that the tone from the LP is my fav. It is a very versatile guitar. I play it all the time.
What it comes down to is preference.

Well, your price range can have a big impact.
I’ve known people who swear by Line-6.
