CT, is there any actual, physical test you can take for this stuff (like a blood test)? Or is it mostly informed by a persons behavior and proclivities?
Fantastic response. Straight up truth!
CT,
Weāre still talking 2Bās here. Pardon my typo. I blame the lack of sleep ![]()
I appreciate the thoughtful response to my question. Your job has given you a ton of insight into how people work. Iāve long held the belief that our physical selves are an outward manifestation of our mental and emotional selves. After reading your thoughts on neurotyping, Iām starting to think our mental and emotional selves are actually underpinned by the concentrations of chemicals in the brain. Maybe this is Psych 101 stuff, but I never took that class in college.
I agree it all comes down to self-reflection. Personally, I think I subconsciously busy myself with something (anything!) 24/7 to avoid self-reflection. I bet this is common for a lot of folks.
Iāve read your neurotype-based training and diet recommendations, but havenāt seen anything on supplementation. Do you have anything in the works?
Well, it is theoretically possible to take a test since Dr.Cloninger did it when he researched the subject. But itās not a test that is available in hospitals or by ānormalā people, hence the use of psychological traits to evaluate your neurological profile.
There are a few genetic tests that can provide a lot of info so maybe some of them can help but I have not looked at them yet
On that note, do you think that genetic testing for nutrition is a useful tool? I know there are genes that control carb and fat metabolism as well as feeding behavior. Iām similar to you in that when my carbs hit a certain level I feel like I need to eat an entire Chinese buffet to be satisfied.
I honestly have not used it so I am not comfortable making any recommendations or giving my opinion. But I know a few coaches who swear by it.
