Need HRT Guidance

Helo.
I have Addisons disease and am recovering from a pituitary tumor removal from 5 years ago that shut my pituitary down. I take 2 CC of Testosterone every 2 weeks, I take 125MCG of Levothyroxine every day, I also take 25 MG’s of Hydrocort(Cortef) every day 15 in morning and 10 late afternoon.

I just went up to the new Test schedual 3 weeks ago I was on 200 MG every 2 weeks and was very tired and moody now I am at 400 every 2 weeks,I also take a Magnesium supplyment that Nutri shop here in CoeurDalene suggested I do it is in powder capsule form I have seen improvement in my mood and body since then in just a short time do i nned to take potasium or anything elde like that?

I was wondering how to safely avoid my water retention I have been gaining alot of water and have been diligent on my sodium intake and is it safe to inject 1 CC a week. MY doctor wants me to stay every 2 weeks. I have read some forum posts about doing weekly or by weekly. I have tried to study Testosterone and its effects and I could be wrong but since I produce no testosterone or Cortef what does half life mean and is it a waste to inject all 2ML’s all at once since I start high and end low?

My last labs on the old schedule had me at 137 after 8 days. I have not had new labs yet the doctor wanted me on this schedule for 2 months then retest. I am wondering if anyone has experience in this area and can give me honest guidance in this area.

ANY dose every two weeks is god awful.

100 mg per week is the way to go.

Most doctors are idiots and totally lack critical analysis and deductive reasoning.

You need to self inject T and should be twice a week.

Please read these stickies:

  • advice for new guys - need to know more about you?
  • protocol for injections
  • finding a TRT doc
  • thyroid basics, see testing body temperatures there and body temperatures can be a guide to dosing thyroid meds

Labs:
TT
FT
E2
DHEA-S
TSH
fT3
fT4

This is a good product. Magnesium deficiencies can lead to muscle cramps and increase blood pressure.

Very few people do well on twice a month, for the reasons you mention. The answer is not to increase the dose, since then you will get very high peaks of estrogen that will probably make you feel awful.

Injections need to be at least once a week. Some people tend to do better on once a week, others on twice a week, depending on the details of the case (e.g., whether SHBG is high, normal, or low).

KSman Thank you I will look at the link. When I have my labs done is there a way I can get you a copy and see how they look? I will also read more on your sticky notes. I will also switch to twice weekly. I have a nurse friend of mine and she suggested that also since I do not produce any Testosterone she said it would reduce the tired feeling and keep my system more in balance. As for water retention is this just something I need to get used to. I will keep track of my temps as suggested for 2 weeks then let you know the results.
