One more mile stone bites the dust. Still on course and on schedule. Cardio today 60 minute all out max, 11.16 miles, 1132 calories, average steps per minute 142, average HR 158, 532 floors. The last two minutes were like the last two minute of the super bowl, an eternity.
That took a lot out of me. Legs were tight, stretching was difficult mainly because I had zero energy left. Every movement has a major effort and pretty mush still is. I don’t want to get up and eat, because I’m out of bread and I don’t want to walk to the store. Fuck it’s two blocks away, oh well I’ll just sit here and rest a bit.
I’m trying to remember why I do this to myself, oh ya I love myself, boy am I ever a sadistic bastard. Ok, store food nap. Staying strong for some reason, it’ll come to me later I’m sure.
Good workout, showing signs of progress. I must now either return to morning and evening workouts or alternate chest and back with leg explosion and speed drills. My focus is now on my legs and cardio as skating season is only weeks away.
Chest and Back March 03/08
Pull ups 5 X 3 + 25#
Standard push ups on three medicine balls 5 X 12
Chin ups 5 X 4 + 25#
Decline push ups 5 X 15
Seated rows 5 X 5 X 170#
Not a highly motivated workout but it’ll do. Staying strong so I can skate faster.

Definitely want to see some of the results of your competitions. Are there age categories or are you entering open meets?
The categories are open and over fifty. I don’t race with others thats more about drafting and out finessing other racers. I race the clock. I most likely won’t have a venue until next year. Hopefully with the Cops for Cancer. It will be another year before I’m ready, cause this fifty year old is taking the over all record home with him. First record is the one hour, off hand I believe the record is 36.120 kilometers in an hour. I’m aiming for over forty Kilometers. This summer will determine how close I am. Rock and roll, let the fun begin.
Personally I like the squat rack. I don’t use a belt I just keep the weight manageable. I get a better core workout without it.
sometimes I like to change foot positions a little even on the machines just to keep from adapting.
Today was the second installment in my progressive sprint cardio session. Seven minute warm-up, 1:00 sprint - 3:00 recovery. Ten second progression on sprints to 2:10. Five minute cool down. Total time 45:20, 6.89 miles, 747 calorie.
Will hit 2:40 on the sprints by sixty minutes. When start reducing recovery time by ten seconds per session. Weighted in at 178.5 soaking wet. I’ll keep gaining until I finish the oak leg blast then rip it down to 180 and try to maintain that weight for the summer and see how it goes. Staying strong just to piss people off lol.
I really like this exercise routine, it’s right up my alley, endurance, endurance and more endurance. 70# set weight for 3:40
Leg extension 3 X 10 @ 70#
Leg curls 3 X 15 @ 70# one set to exhaustion
Seated calf raises 4 X 15 @ 70#
Tomorrow 90 minute cardio medium pace. Start doing one two hour cardio a month. I want to do at least three hundred mile skates this spring and summer. This leg workout and the long cardios will pay off ten fold in the months to come. I’m getting stoked just thinking about it.
I got invited to go to Vancouver and do a couple races, something to think about. I’ll see if the races conflict with and of my big skates, could be fun. Staying strong cause I have nothing better to do.
Thanks DZ, I have to say the same right back. We’re two different people, I wish I had your power and strength. I really can’t wait to see how you make out at your meet, you’re going do great, stay strong Bro.
Ninety minute cardio today. It’s really coming together, 14.15 miles, avg HR 137 never broke 150, 679 floors. Legs were fried from yesterday but the heart, lungs and mind were smoking so the legs paid the price. Good stretch after can really feel it in the legs thou. All and all everything is coming together right on time. Working hard to stay strong cause the fun is yet to come!!
FUCKING UNREAL - R U HUMAN or machine???
I wish I had 1/100 of your CVR & local muscle endurance! You are an inspiration for me to get more cardio in; when the temps are a little higher, I will try to add some!As always, AWESOME job streamline!!!
Thanks QT, some of this is new to me. Like I’m still putting on weight, even with all this cardio. Gives you an idea just how much food I’m stuffing in my face. I’m at 179.5 soaking wet and I’m scared shitless to fart LOL! I sure my BF hasn’t changed to much, which is really great.
Taking tonight off, don’t really need the chest and back workout. Plus I’ll feel quilty tomorrow and really push the cardio. Sixty minute max out, there’s no way I’m going over 5 1/2 minute miles. I’m pretty sure with the sprint training and distance cardio I can hit 5 minute miles by the end of April. Hope I’m not bitting off more than I can chew.
What ever my speed is by the end of April, with my newly developed leg strength I am going to be flying on my roller blades. Those poor cyclists aren’t going to know what it was that just flew by them LOL!!! It’s going to be a long and very exciting summer. Training hard, staying strong and getting ready to Rock’n Roll !!!
Top of the world, what an awesome workout. I was just smoking on the stairmaster today. Sixty minute all out max, 11.66 miles, Avg HR 148, 549 floors, Avg steps per min 147, 1219 calories.
I felt great today, lots of energy and totally focused. Had to keep the Ego in check thou. I felt like jacking the level up but stuck to my workout plan. I’ll hit the five minute mile by the end of April without a problem.
My legs were strong all the way through the workout. That was the most satisfying part. Strong legs are the ticket I need the most. Tomorrow is the Oak leg blast, we’ll see how the legs feel after that. Staying strong so I can kick some ass, oh ya!!
1 X 4:00 @ 70#
leg extensions 3 X 10 @ 70#
leg curls 3 X 15 @ 70# one to exhaustion
calf raises 3 X 20 @ 70#
Could feel the effects from my cardio yesterday. Still a great workout about 8500# of lifting non stop. I feel the difference it makes on the stairmaster, I can push hard without the leg fatigue at the end of my workout. Staying strong for all the right reasons!!
Progressive sprint drills today, went really great, got new head phones and they really rock, I’m very happy.
Sprint, 7 min warm up 1 min sprint 3 min recovery 1:10 sprint up tp 2:20, 5 min cool down. 8.01 miles, 840 calories, 52:30 minutes. Kind of lost count and tried a 2:30 sprint but my math doesn’t work to good after forty minutes of this. Staying strong and feeling good about it.
Going to work the forearms and abs tomorrow. I really need some more strength in my forearms, so I’m really motivated.

Legs were like rocks. I’m sure this is the warm-up and things are going to get really intense at six minutes and beyond. I’m really looking forward to the challenge. Staying strong and working hard because skating season is only weeks away, I’m stoked!!
Ninety minute cardio, gruelling as ever. Felt pretty good but I’m just wasted now. Slight increase in results 14.67 miles, 704 floors, 1584 calories, avg HR 128 finding that difficult to swallow, so I’m going to invest in the heart rate monitor. Did an average stretch after. Legs are feeling heavy, the oak leg blast is really starting to work, it’s going to get very interesting in the next several weeks. Working hard and staying strong because I want to go really, really fast.
Progressive jumps go to 30 seconds each workout for the next three minutes. Three more weeks till we hit eight minutes. Then it’s back to trying front squats and deadlifts for a couple months. Might cycle these two workouts for a while, see what kind of size I can get on the legs. Staying strong one day at a time.

You put the Energizer Bunny to shame! Am so darn impressed with your workouts!
Thanks QT, my mind is very focused at the moment. I am excited to see if all this hard work as got me to the level of fitness I need. If I can make my speed and distance goals this spring and summer I will work at getting a venue for the first world record. If I don’t make my goals it’s back to the gym for another year.
I am very confident that I will hit the 50km mark this spring. The 100 mile skates in under six hour will be interesting. I will need to set up water and food stations on the route in a couple of coolers. There is also a total shortage of flat land here on the Island, thats where I’m hoping the endurance of the Hungarian Oak Leg Blast will make the difference between success and fa-----, don’t ever want to write that word down.
Know matter which way it goes I’m going to have so much fun pushing myself to the extreme limits of my physical strength and endurance. There are also going to be a lot of cyclists getting served up some humble pie as I blast past them with all their gears. Not that enjoy doing that, but I have to feed the Ego Beast or he’ll starve to death.
Working hard and staying strong because God put me on earth to accomplish a certian number of things, and I’m so far behind I will never die.
