Need Advice on My Thyroid Test Results

Hello,

I have got my Gastric sleeve surgery (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) done precisely one year ago. For past five months, I am stuck with my weight; I am tracking my food with fitness pal, very careful with food quality, also I am workout 4-5 days a week 2 hours a day, lifting like a king, still nothing changes, same BF% same weight but Nothing changes.
based on many people advice on my gym they told me I should take thyroid check-up.
would you please take a look at my test results and tell me what your opinion is. Many thanks.

Free T3 is slightly below midranges and T4 is low and should be midrange, T4 is the total thyroid hormones produced. I would check oral body temps as this is the best indication of Free T3 status. Do you consume iodized salt in the home, thyroid requires iodine to function and you could be iodine deficient.

In your other threads, did I ask that you check oral body temperatures? - see below.

Describe your history of using iodized salt or vitamins that list iodine+selenium.

There is no iodine in sea salt unless the package states iodized.

fT3 is the only active hormone.

You could be over-training and that combined with ?low-T? and low fT3 can be hard on the adrenals leading to adrenal fatigue where rT3 can increase which reduces effect of what fT3 you have and can affect cortisol as well.

We could probably do a better job for you if this issue was addressed in a main thread for you were we could see other labs and discussion.

Please read the stickies found here: About the T Replacement Category - #2 by KSman

Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab number and ranges.

The value that you get out of this process and forum depends on your effort and performance. The bulk of your learning is reading/studying the suggested stickies.

I am taking centrum silver with iod , also I am using iodized salt too.
@systemlord

I do use Iodine salt plus taking Centrum silver (it has 150 mcg iodine ) I have never tried selenium before, but I guess centrum silver does contain some (21 mcg). Also, I am taking 250mg TRT weekly split into two subQ shots. I have been following your TRT protocol religiously for many years, until lately, HCG became unavailable here and I had to bump up testosterone to co-op with the lack of HCG.
for the body temperature, I will buy a thermometer and check it in the morning and will post here my readings. I am grateful for your help. much appreciated.

under arm Body temperature reading for 3 mornings at bed .
35.8 C
35.9 C
35.7 C

Update :
I just returned from doctor visit I showed him my test results and my body temperature readings at morning for past few days … And he said am perfectly fine!!!. When i started to explain about body temperature and that having test results exactly at Low end is not optimal he screamed at me that I have nothing and as long as my blood works are not absolutely below the reference of low …i am just fine . And he never heard of the body temperature thing . Than he kicked me out of his office and returned my paid fees.
There is no words to describe how disappointed I am right now .

In other words he doesn’t care, understand that it may be your insurance holding up the doctor taking action. Insurance companies have way too much power deciding who gets TRT and thyroid treatment and who doesn’t, sometimes the doctors hands are tied as it’s a financial desicion.

Suggest paying out of pocket, the level of care you get while paying for it yourself is quite different when the insurance companies are cut out of the loop.

Your doctor was very likely intimidated by your level of knowledge and it affected his ego, it made him feel small and he didn’t like it.

I guess so .thing is it’s not insurance doctors he’s paid doctor.
But I really can’t get it . Putting your ego ahead of people health is just wrong…
