Been on TRT for 3 months got my first bloods. 150mg a week split into 2 injections and HCG on same days 1000 IU a week. I have had O positive changes it’s like I have taken nothing at all. Only seen a couple more zits on chest and shoulders and some nipple itchiness, But haven’t had any positive affects. Orginal T was 290-330 ng/d before starting. Had a lot of symptoms ED, little to no sex drive. Not motivation and low energy. Diet and sleep dialed in for about 2 years. Now doctor recommends Al.5mg twice a week and uping dose to 200mg a week. I currently subq. I really don’t want to add an Al and I don’t want to up my dose because of my numbers but I don’t feel anything? Any tips on what you think would be best helps… Lower dose? Take Al? Raise dose?
If this is TRT for health, primarily, drop the dose a bit. Your free T is well above normal.
I don’t know squat about hcg. Seems like it can cause more issues than help for some. But that’s my highly vague view. Hopefully someone else will comment.
But here’s the thing: you just may jeed more time. It’s tortoise not hare if you’ve been living with low T for awhile.
But increasing test AND adding AI…I dunno about that if your goal is only health maintenance. I get that’s your impression?
Yes that is what I am looking for… its just weird that I have not felt a single positive side effect yet. But my brain was telling me to drop dose and ride it out.. but it also seems I convert a lot to estrogen
Any clue on BF percentage? Not saying you are with your response, but most men significantly underestimate including myself.
Im probably around 15%-20%
20 vs 15% is a big difference, at least for me, on aromatization. Either way, I’d vote on dose decrease like 120mg total, hold 8+ weeks, retest.
Most of all: don’t psych yourself out. It can be a slow build up. 3 months isn’t that much time
Digital scale says 12.4% but I know those are not accurate
Thanks for the advice bro is it okay to drop down to that dose immediately?
Yep. I started at 120 mg and had similar labs. Went to 100 mg at let it ride for 8 weeks and generally just feel..good.
I don’t feel like my savage 20-something self, no. That’s not a good thing anyway, lol.
But I’m nearly 44 and feel overall just better. Especially mentally. The mental health benefits of getting your test back up but not excessively high is really under valued when considering potential treatment outcomes.
We all initially think/hope/wish it will be taking super soldier serum. The subtle long term benefits of reasonable dosing and patience are where its at.
But I feel you. We can’t but hope everything improves right away.
Awesome Okay next week Ill start with 120 and ride that out. Do you think I should use AI to balance out that high E
For context, I’m 48. Initially got into around 20, had to go to the “TRT” but usually work in some blasts.
- AI should only be done based on blood work, because at that low dose, it would be normal. For most, 500 mg of test doesn’t need it. Research it, it can cause problems if it screws with estrogen more than you want.
- 12 body fat you would see your abs. Most people I know, notice 150 test a week and you don’t need 3 months.
- that said, I barely notice 150, but it’s because i want the feeling of more…. But 150 to me is border line “seeing” something in gym if that is what you want. The key in this, to me, is checking your bloods and BP. There is always option of increasing a bit if those stay in check.
The Provider I was seeing suggested staying away from AI unless I was having significant estrogen related symptoms.
In your (and my case), if higher than "normal " T is the issue, decrease the T and estrogen will follow.
I have this theory that soon, every “provider” will prescribe test and low deca as trt for those over 40. Say even 50 or 75 a week. Deca doesn’t amortize to e2 much. Makes your joints feel great at even that that dose. Most will tell you won’t notice other effects from it at those dose (not for me on cruise). But some work that into a cruise similar to your baseline T you talking about. Anyway, some doctors prescribe now for the reasons I’m saying. So if still don’t feel better, something to consider.
I don’t feel good with ES over 50. 124??
Well it’s not that I feel bad I just don’t feel anything at all. Just small negative physical side effects
Your doc wants you to take more T when your T value is in the 900s?!
What kind of doc are you seeing (urologist, endocrinologist)?
