Need a Good Everyday Shoe

Already have the chuck taylors for lifting, but my parents are asking me if I need shoes for xmas. I told them I do, but was unsure of a good pair.

I know crosstrainers are highly recommended, and I have used them in the past(new balance) and nike(air max isn’t that great though).

What shoes do you recommend for all around comfort and support?

Thanks,

Aaron

I absolutely love my Nike Free 7.0 trainers. I have a pair for training and a pair for just kicking around.

I concur. I have a pair as well for training, but I like wearing them all the time. They’re almost like slippers.

Check out zappos.com or eastbay.com. Both have good prices and just about all the colors and sizes there are.

I wear my Nike Free shoes everywhere except for work. I don’t know why Chuck Taylors still get talked about with these on the market. I guess it is just because of price.

Yeah. I hope they never get rid of the Free series… it’s easily the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. I’ll put on a pair of old basketball shoes and it feels like I’m walking around with bricks on my feet.

I can’t even think about training in anything else anymore. They have also helped my calf development just because of the flexibility.

Are there any shoes that are 50 bucks and under? I see the free trainers on nike’s site are 100 bucks.

get some free 7.0’s its worth it. im on my 3rd pair and i use em for just about everything: weightlifting, basketball, flag football, running, plyometrics, chillin, whatever.

I heard socks put alot of wear and tear on the shoe by stretching the fabric. Also, that they aren’t as comfortable with socks. So, do you guys wear socks with your nike frees?

No. I’ve saved money on socks since I bought these.

I’ll toss my hat in the “Nike Free are the shit” ring. Plus you can go online and make them in whatever goofy colors your heart desires.

But, since they are used sockless does that contribute to athletes foot? As many already know, I dislike skin pathologies.

You aren’t making much sense with that one. Unless you are walking around barefoot, why would you assume “foot pathologies” are related directly to lack of socks? Maybe if you were in the jungles of Vietnam or a Tropical Rainforest that would be the case.

Moral? Keep your feet out of Vietnam.

I dunno… never had a problem with it, but then again I’ve never had athletes foot anyway.

I have walked around barefoot in locker rooms for almost 10 years and never had one single foot disease. Knock on wood.

I wear a “brason roper” with a steel toe from rocky boots.

a lot of the people on here that are saying how comfortable tennis shoes are have never put their feet inside a good boot. I have had girlfriends put my boots on in the past an be amazed at how comfortable they are.

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

Marluvas. Brazilian construction shoe. Get the boot; it’s indestructible. Rock-solid for lifting, and you could stomp a mudhole in Satan’s ass without feeling a thing. Good shoe.

I have really flat feet, and after some searching on the internet got this years version of the Brooks Beast. Very happy with them would be an understatement. My knees and my lower back are really noticing the difference. I wear them pretty much everywhere.

They were actually awkward to train in at first, especially in overhead pressing, like I felt unstable, but I’m feeling much more balanced and steady now than before. I had trouble believing these shoes would live up to the hype, but they have worked wonders for me.
