Ncsugrad's TRT Log / Diary

Now I am the one trying to conceive. Sounded like the HCG alone didn’t do anything for you?

I took a little break… a combination of getting tired of answering the same questions over and over and over and I got pretty annoyed with a few people here that seem to be incapable of doing any sort of research or understanding anything that isn’t “add more T!!1!”. Pretty frustrating when people don’t understand how lab measurements actually work and that they aren’t all equal. It’s not like we’re measuring inches here where an inch is clearly defined and agreed upon.

Anyways, on to my update–the wife is pretty pregnant now, she’s due late August, so she’s past the morning sickness phase and not quite to the totally miserable phase… but total misery is surely coming soon, and a nice hot southern summer isn’t going to make it any more enjoyable. Oh, and the baby is a girl.

I have also been off of TRT for a while now. I can’t remember when I stopped, December or January I think? The panic attacks (which in hindsight I think were probably caused moreso by the HCG than the testosterone) far outweighed any benefits I was getting from TRT, so once she was pregnant I stopped everything. I was fine for a few weeks, then had maybe 2 weeks where I was never comfortable and extremely tired. I felt like I was always either on the brink of sweating or was freezing, never comfortable. I was also tired, low libido, etc. Usual stuff. But, nothing all that horrible to be honest. I was expecting worse.

The good news is I haven’t had a panic attack in over 6 months now, so I’m finally not worrying about that happening all the time, which in turn makes it easier to not have them. It’s a cycle for some people once you have the first one… being afraid of having another one can kick off the whole process of actually having one, so it can be a sort of self fulfilling prophecy type deal.

Once I got past the first month or two off TRT I’ve felt OK. I have gained a few lbs in my face/stomach and have less energy for sure, but nothing crazy. I was skinny anyways, but it is interesting to see pictures from when I was taking 210mg/week vs. now, and even though I wasn’t working out, it’s still obvious I had a lot more muscle then. My skin is better/younger looking without the T, so that’s a plus. And, no more back acne. Refractory period has been kind of strange and was one of my main issues pre TRT. It’s actually been working well since stopping TRT. I’m not trying to have sex quite as often, more like 2-3x a week now vs. 4-5x a week, but I haven’t had a no-go in as long as I can remember, so all is fine there.

I may give TRT one more shot at some point. The fear of panic attacks really puts a damper on it though. I’d rather be low TRT for the rest of my life than have those. I do plan to get some labs done soon to see where I’m at. My knees have been killing me when I walk up stairs, so I have a feeling my e2 is probably very low. We’ll see.

Anyways. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry, late response. Hopefully you got an answer already. HCG didn’t do the trick for me. After 6 or 8 months of HCG, I did have some sperm, but they weren’t motile and there weren’t a lot of them, so it wasn’t doing the trick. I added FSH (I think it was 50 units 3x a week) for 10 weeks and she was pregnant right at the end of that 10 weeks. I also did a semen analysis not long before we found out she was pregnant and I had high motility and decent sperm count then. I assume it was still going up but didn’t test again for obvious reasons.

dbossa,
reading your posts on T creams seems like you’ve had good success. Is that still the case mid 2021 ? I’m just starting the therapy for the first time at 64 years old, and have been reading through the forums,
Thx,
jack

Yeah you’re not gonna be getting a reply on this one

Yeah, I noticed he was booted off the site. Just trying to find a good news story with T cream use long term. I wonder if I’m violating the age old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

I’d be shocked if he believes the same as he did 2 years ago. Posts I’ve seen from him on Facebook would make me think IM injections 2-3x a week is your best bet.

Any updates?
