I would advise try small enough dose often enough and give it some time. I felt crappy the first two weeks and this crappy feeling passed away
He OK’d a trial of thyroid meds, pretty much whatever one I want to try but recommended a compounded T4+T3 med just to see. Said give it a month and see how I feel but numbers wise I didn’t look bad at all but it wasn’t going to hurt anything to try it out.
He said 70 days of HCG basically to get fertility back is what I should plan for. 500IU’ s 3x a week, could do 200IU’s 7x a week if I wanted to smooth it out more
So, start in April for July baby time
Female post IUD wise it’s anywhere from almost immediate to a couple of months.
gah, forgot to ask this one. Missed it when looking through my notes.
Not worth doing now unless I just want to. Either wait until after 3 months of HCG or go a few months past that and then do if no conception by then
Prescribed in case I want it, but expensive. 50 IU’s 3x a week if desired. Def. helps with fertility but super expensive and not necessary in most cases.
Got this done. 180mg/week is my official dose with permission to go to 210 as a trial to see if I feel better or worse
Can increase a little bit if I want to try it out. Previous results were at peak, this is at trough, so it’s not as much of a difference as it seems
Didn’t ask this one but I know the answer.
Sustained over 30 is where he starts to get concerned enough to consider a pituitary MRI. Test in 3 months and see where it goes, consider MRI then.
Normally this is a good sign I’m not on too high of a dose so that’s part of why he was OK with me bumping the dose up. No concerns here.
No point in spending the money on the other total T test since free T matters more. I can get the more expensive free T test if I want but isn’t required.
He was concerned about this, bump d3 to 10K IU’s per day for the next 3 months. He said he likes it to be around 50 and mine was a 9, haha.
Sounds like a successful day at the doctor’s office! Congrats
Thanks
Now I get to spend some more money and decide which thyroid meds to try
I think an going to get bloodwork done soon since it’s been about 10 months and if thyroid needs optimizing I’m going to go for it. Keep me updated with your goes. Very interested.
I’m with Dr. Saya as well and really like him and Defy.
To give you a reference, I was low on Vit. D as well. I was previously on 5k daily from Nov. to Jan. and my Vit. D went from 38 to 46. I increased my dose to 10Kiu daily on January 8th. As of February 24th my Vit D was 64. This may give you somewhat of a gauge to how long it took for me to raise Vit. D? Of course, we’re all different and YMMV. Whether it’s placebo or not I’m not certain, but I do feel better with my Vit D in range.
Ah ok, cool… yeah so it’s probably going to take a little while to get levels back up. I’ve read where quite a few people claim they feel better but it’s not like a whack in the face night and day difference like some things are… but still, it’s kind of a natural healthier happier feeling. I’m bad about not getting much time in the sun regardless, so I’ll try to stick with the d3 meds for a few months.
Ordered some t3+t4 earlier to try out and 2 months worth of HCG. I’m hoping they will fill 2 months worth at once since I forgot to ask him about the whole HCG FDA debacle.
Can I freeze the HCG for now until I need it? I can’t remember, seems like it lasts a long time when it’s cold until you add liquid to it, so it may not really need to go in the freezer regardless. I’ll have to read some on this one.
Yeah I’m liking Saya too, just wish his schedule wasn’t so booked. I had a lot of questions and it was literally 8am on a Monday and he was still helpful and didn’t seem to get annoyed. Most docs get pretty pissy when you start off with “I read about… on the internet” but I assume he must be used to it by now. He was very open to trialing different things to see how well it works vs. how a lot of docs operate. Thyroid may not do anything at all for me and I may be barking up the wrong tree but it’s worth finding out IMO
I think with HCG you only need to freeze it if you mix the bac water and don’t planning on using it within a month.
Have you read about the FDA thing being real? I thought no one was able to find info on it.
I’ve found him to be very patient and open to discuss research his patients do on the internet. I’ve seen him actively participate on another TRT forum that Defy sponsors. He’s not on all the time just as time allows or if he’s been specifically “tagged” in a post.
Yeah I found this on it:

I don’t recall, did you have a high TSH? I think it was you that discussed the positive correlation between increased TSH to increased TRH to increased prolactin?
Before I started armour thyroid, my prolactin was always top of range…not over but right at the top.
Doc prescribed Caber, took it once, never again… I tried B6, PHP, etc… Nothing really dropped it.
4 months on armour (no other supps above) and prolactin went from 15 to 8.3 and then 9 months later it was down to 6.5 (rr 2-18).
My TSH when I started was - 3.53 uIU/ML (0.400 - 4.100). My TSH at the time my prolactin was 6.5 was 0.37.
So, 2.5 grains a day of armour crushed my TSH and in turn looks to have knocked my prolactin down a bunch too.
Might be just what you need!
Yep, it’s me that keeps harping on that, haha. I just can’t ignore the study I found showing the relationship of TSH, prolactin and average time to ejaculation. It seemed pretty strongly related to me, though I don’t claim to be an expert at interpreting studies.
Highest mine got was 3.0. It’s actually came bark down some so I didn’t think he’d be interested in doing a thyroid trial but he said OK anyways.
He mentioned that exact reason as why… way more natural to try thyroid than caber to reduce prolactin. I don’t think I’d take caber unless I had something severely wrong with me going on, that stuff is nasty.
That’s awesome. Mine has always been low 20’s (never tested before all of this started, only after) and hit 30 this time so hopefully thyroid helps.
Did you have improvement of any sexual symptoms with the prolactin reduction?
The one thing that I can kind of sort of anecdotally relate to all this is during the last period where I had the shortest refractory period I’ve ever had (late 2007 to early 2008), I was the thinnest I’ve ever seen and seemed to have the highest metabolism. I was all over the world eating tons of food and lost weight, had slight abs and was good to go 2-3x a day no problem… Now I’ve gained some weight (though not a lot) and obviously have a longer refractory period so I wonder if it’s all related.
I realize it’s a long shot but I hope all of this is connected in a way that it helps. If not, I’ll drop the thyroid meds and go back to how I am now, which is still a lot better than I was before TRT
I’m not sure what the exact reasons are since I also switched to 22mg daily shots about 3 months ago, but right now, I have the best sexual performance I can remember in a really long time. There have been a few times when I pull out, finish, wipe off and go right back in. Second time takes longer, but that’s not the point…haha, point is I get a second go!
Last time I tried that my wife said no, she was tired from the first go…haha.
I will say, I still can last forever from stimulation other than intercourse. Haven’t solved that yet, but the between the sheets is going well… Could be a combo of all the things, who knows.
I hope it helps you. It took months though…9 months after I started I had my lowest prolactin level.
Wow that’s crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever successfully managed that one. Congrats, haha
I think I’ve been updating in BKB’s thread more than my own lately… so here’s an update on myself:
I went up to 210mg/week about a week and a half ago. Something like that. I was already at 195mg/week so wasn’t a huge bump but now it’s doctor approved. Haven’t really felt any different. If anything libido slightly lower, probably just from the change, maybe just from life stress, who knows. Not a big deal either way.
I started a compounded T4/T3 med yesterday that’s equivalent to 1 “grain” of Armour. I had a headache most of yesterday (which is unusual for me) but I wasn’t tired in the afternoon for once. I had about 7 hours of driving to do yesterday and was fine the whole time. Usually I’m smacking myself to stay awake after lunch.
I took it today and feel pretty good so far. Might be placebo but I feel warmer and less tired. It’s not a caffeinated feeling… hard to explain, just more awake I guess. No headache yet. I’m going to give it a month or so (barring any obvious hyperthyroid symptoms) and see if it causes any improvements.
Funny enough this morning I weighed the lowest I’ve been since prior to TRT. I know 1 day of thyroid meds isn’t going to cause that but I thought it was kind of funny I was down 2-3lbs from my usual minimum the day after starting them. Probably from driving all day yesterday and not eating or drinking much (I usually drink a ton of water).
Anyways. Sex wise things are good. Managed 3x between Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning which was pretty awesome. And I had had quite a bit to drink for one of the times, so that’s all good stuff.
I’m going to be starting HCG in the next month or two so I’m a bit worried about that changing things after I’m finally feeling stable. Trying for babies this summer and doc is saying it takes 2-3 months for sperm to go through the whole process from being made to being ready to go, so I have to start soon. I’m thinking late April or early May. IUD is out end of June but I wouldn’t expect things to settle down on her side for a few months so I don’t want to add HCG too early and feel like crap for longer because of it (if I feel bad long term… TBD)
And… I’m interviewing for new jobs. Really hoping I get the one I interviewed for yesterday. It’d be a perfect fit, more money, more freedom and gets me out of a sucky situation where I’m at now with commuting 2.5 hours a day. I’ve been looking on and off for a while but this is the first one where I’ve REALLY wanted it and know I could do a really good job at it so I hope it comes through.
I think that’s about it. Life is good. Banging is good. Work sucks but might get better soon. Hopefully thyroid will make things even better all around. If not, I’ll drop it and move on
Happy your doing good brother.
Lol good to see my PFS bro doing well. Hopefully it gets boring soon and you have less need to post on trt forums and get back to forgetting about this shit.
I’m already trying to find my next hobby, haha. I am afraid adding HCG is going to mix things up a bit but we’ll see I guess
Been doing pretty good. The bump to 210mg has me feeling pretty good/strong. Its kind of weird. I still have to start the whole gym thing but I worked my ass off last weekend tiling and grouting and despite my forearms burning to the point that I could barely move my hands, I was barely even sore. Pre TRT that would have left me barely able to move my arms for like a week.
@dextermorgan I’ll be in your neck of the woods in 2 weeks. Any recommendations for stuff to do in Nola? Couldn’t resist the $50 round trip flights thanks to the zombie virus that isn’t doing shit to anyone under like 60
Oh, and I didn’t get that job I really wanted. They found someone with more experience with that exact product at the last minute where I just had experience in the right industry and a kind of sort of similar product but def not the same. Oh well, have a call with someone else that is a little closer product wise to what I do now tomorrow so hopefully they’ll be interested.
Dude let’s hang out. When you coming? There’s lots of great places here. I’ll have to make a list.
