NCAAF 2014

Losing the second game of the season with a QB making his 2nd career start in front of 100k+ people under the lights with one of the least experienced Olines is explainable. They played Navy the week before so it’s not exactly quality preparation.

Explaining a lost in the middle of the season to a rival, that’s a bit less logical.

OSU lost 4 Olinemen to the NFL, they all started last week in the playoffs. Ed Warinner needs as much credit as anyone else on the coaching staff.

Yes, it is explainable. So is losing to a fellow top 10 team by 3 point on their field. But why is it forgiven for one team and not the other?

There is no logical criteria to definitively put OSU, Alabama, or Oregon ahead of TCU aside from history. Give us some rules and define the playoff system. Until that happens preconceived bias will always prevail, just as we saw this year.

It was forgiven holy fuck. TCU was #3 well after that loss.

This isn’t even worth discussing anymore. Every team would have an argument if they were left out, that’s how it’s going to work when there are more than 4 deserving teams.

Edit: Fuck it going in full blast.

You just used the ‘close’ WVU win against Bama. TCU beat them by 1.
You used ‘close’ wins against other competition. TCU barely beat fucking Kansas.
You used their loss against Baylor as a ‘quality.’ Bama lost to a then completely healthy Ole Miss team that still finished #9 decimated by injuries.

TCU was never going to replace Bama. NEVER. Nobody was. They had the best resume because even though many thought the SEC was being overrated a bit, we still thought it was really good(just not HOLY FUCK BEST DIVISION IN FOOTBALL HISTORY, PLEASE MAKE IT THE NEW NFC SOUTH).

FSU is the best argument, but good luck convincing people to not let the reigning national champions, who have yet to lose a game(regardless of how close they were, and how many required comebacks) in the following season.

You’re also still stuck on TCU, when Baylor is right there, saying ‘hey we beat you guys.’ They have an argument too.

Here’s the answer: 64 team tournament ala NCAA basketball.

Will that satisfy youse guys?
Too many games.

I still think 8 is the magic number
I know that. Post was tongue in cheek.

10-4

TCU did not deserve to get into the playoff. Baylor is the only Big 12 school that had a case. In any round robin tournament in any sport I have ever played, equal records mean it defaults to the head to head. While I consider TCU the better team, Baylor won in a game where TCU gave up 61 pts.

SEC was overrated. The west especially, although there were some excuses to just how pitiful they really played in the bowls.

Big 10 was underrated at the top.

Pac 12 was what they usually are.

Big 12 was about right and the ACC was underrated in the middle and overrated at the top. Basically they were the little brother version of the Pac-12.

As a Frog fan I thoroughly enjoyed that Peach Bowl. So much for SEC dominance in that one. Also enjoyed a trip to Omaha for the CWS. I actually went to Omaha for the games.
