NBA Lockout

So who is the bigger choke this game, Lebron or Rose?

Can’t believe those last 2 possessions James had and can’t believe Rose missed two FT in the crunch to take the lead

lol now Lebron misses 2 FT down the stretch…

Their two primary ballhandlers (Westbrook and Durant) average almost 7 to’s a game between 'em. Didn’t realize how few assists and how many to’s Durant gets until I checked the stats. [/quote]

that doesn’t strike me as high given how much of the offense runs thru them. how does that stack up against other similar duos?

I watched the 4th q, was happy how tight we played them given Deng was out and he’s a key guy. Rose was awesome. He hadn’t missed a 4th Q FT attempt all year so I’m not gonna fret that he missed those, no one shoots 100%.

The more I think about it, the less I think LBJ’s FT woes at end of games is a clutch issue… the bigger issue, and a big knock on James, is that he’s just not that good a free throw shooter. He misses 1 in 4 attempts and that makes him a non-ideal guy to handle the ball late in games when the other team is fouling - regardless of whether he’s clutch or not clutch.

It’s his 9th year in the league and his FT shooting is about as good now as his first year. That’s inexcusable for his talent level. It’s not like he came into the league shooting 90% and had little room to improve - he should be shooting at least 80% if not more.

For some reason I am subjecting myself to Bulls-Wizards in person tonight. At least the cheerleaders are hot.

Derrick Rose vs. John Wall? Are you kidding me, it should be a fun match-up.

Bulls will be up for 25 at the half. Rose won’t see a minute of play in the 2nd.

John Wall will turnover the ball 8 times.

Can’t wait.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they sat Rose entirely.

Getting to watch D Rose play is worth the price of admission.

And fuck Dwight Howard and his “wish-list.” People say LeBron is cocky…

Orlando recently has been getting murdered. Tonight is looking no different.

A little late for us east coasters but LAC-OKC @ 10:30.

Might catch the first half before bed.

RIP Kendrick Perkins

Kinda reminds me of this:

The NBA is looking very competitive this season, especially out in the West. Teams are trying to get some kind of power grab but no one is letting up and giving anyone the opportunity to solidify their claim. I guess the exceptions could be Miami and probably Chicago in the East but the 76ers have been a surprise and no one looks unbeatable.

Maybe things will start to open up later on in the season but right now everyone is playing to win in this condensed season.

The collective body language of OKC after that dunk is awesome, made all the better by Harden’s facial expression.

Bulls-Wiz was fun. Rose put on a spectacular show - especially after he got T’d up (thought he got fouled and complained), then got stripped clean on the very next possession. You could tell he was pissed and he took over the game from there. A total array of circus shots throughout the game, was so much fun to watch him.

I have to say though, the guy that impressed me most (in terms of production vs. what I expected) was Trevor Booker for WAS. Constant hustle and energy, seemed to be the only guy on WAS interested in making the correct basketball play every time he had the ball.

He was 7 in 26 minutes on the floor, and even though single game /- generally is useless as a stat, I can tell you from watching the game that it was not a fluke (I remember when I left the arena I thought to myself, if Trevor Booker didn’t lead WAS in /- I’ll never look at that stat again). He annoyed the shit out of the Bulls with his D, knew his role never tried to exceed it, and hustled like hell.

Really funny watching the Wizards continually help off Korver while various Bulls would dish to him in the same spot on the wing for an uncontested 3-pointer. You’d think they’d stop doing that at some point.

Also noticed McGee actually tries to keep the ball inbounds when he blocks shots. Wish Dwight would do that.

It’s a little higher but nothing crazy. The problem for me is the difference in to’s to assists. Durant averages close to 2/1 to/assts, and Westbrook averages close to 4 to’s to only 5 assists. That sucks.

Westbrook’s ratio is atrocious.
