What do you guys think of the Bulls radio play-by-play man Chuck Swirsky?
He use to be the tv play-by-play man for the Raptors until he had to move to Chicago for family reasons. His voice and personality had a cult-like fan base.
I dunno but I really don’t like Joe Buck of Fox Sports. Who the fuck went and made him the staple sports announcer for ALL major sports events Fox Sports broadcasts? You CANNOT call BOTH baseball and football, it’s borderline unethical.
EDIT: I know he’s not a basketball announcer but since we’re talking about announcers…

Dan Shulman does both MLB and NBA and he is a GOD.
He use to do the play-by-play for the Blue Jays. I miss it dearly.
Stephen A Smith is a really annoying, effiminate nerd who tries way too hard to be the “angry black guy” and Bayless is a really annoying, effiminate weirdo who tries way too hard to be controversial. They also both have horribly annoying voices, and overall just suck.
Webber is pretty damn good, Barkley and Smith have their moments and Renown Johnson is actually pretty damn good too. If I’m actually watching the game Doug Collins and Hubie Brown are by far the best dudes out there.

I absolutely hate how every time Skip is so clearly saying shit to just get viewers talking about it, tweeting, lighting up ESPN.com with pageviews, etc, EVERYONE ELSE on the show has to chime in with more bullshit about how “everything he says on this show is legit, he is that guy, he really believes this.”
I know I’m continuing this tangent of non-basketball, but I at least had some respect for Bayless in the past on topics that he didn’t do that for, but after this past NFL season of him basically being ‘in character’ 24/7 for Tebow Mania, I just can’t stand it. I’ve DVR’d First Take every day for years, and had to stop watching it because they made him the focus of the entire show, not just the debate segments anymore.

^^ I watch NBATV Canada and I also get a lot of local game feeds from other sports channels.
On top of what you said, some broadcasters clearly do NOT have a voice suited for commentating.

Absolutely. Stacey King of the Bulls sounds HORRIBLE. The Mavs crew is pretty bad too, at least in terms of how insanely homer they are.
I heard one crew throw out the term “rebound percentage” the other night which I liked… I forget which team’s crew it was though.
Really? From what I hear Stacey King is well liked for his excited, high octane commentary.
Do you remember when Derrick Rose dunked on Goran Dragic? Stacey King had the call of the year in 2010:
He’s definitely energetic he just says dumb things… if you can get over that he’s OK I guess.
Also, even though I’m a Bulls fan, I just like commentators better who are neutral and unbiased. I’m not going to learn anything from a guy who says every foul on the other team is “ticky tack”
Like the other night, Ronnie Brewer had like 3 straight nice plays so King said “you gotta feed Ronnie now, let him take over the game”
Come on man. Ronnie Brewer has had thousands of minutes to prove he’s a marginal NBA player with a few good skills (wing defense, driving the lane)… making a couple of nice plays in a row does not make him a better offensive option than Hamilton, Rose and Boozer.
So, are we all on the same page that Howard is definitely leaving ORL after his comments last night? There’s no way he thinks his playoff/champ hopes are better there than elsewhere, regardless of their record(or… their record prior to getting embarrassed the last few games).

OKC as a team has the 5th most turnovers per game. WOW. Surprising given their record.
But I guess when you have KD dropping boat loads of points each game you can get away with it.
you can’t get away with it…
in the playoffs.
Their two primary ballhandlers (Westbrook and Durant) average almost 7 to’s a game between 'em. Didn’t realize how few assists and how many to’s Durant gets until I checked the stats.

I don’t there has been any question Howard will leave ORL for a while now.
What’s left is it worth trading him or taking one more run at the Finals with him.
