NBA Lockout

Oh yeah, Bryant dropped 42 last night. 3 straight with 40+. He’s leading the league in scoring by about 2 points over the next guy (James) and is playing a few minutes less while still averaging 6 boards and 6 assists. His 2 pt % is through the roof, but his 3% has been down until last night where he went 4-6. I’ll give James credit in that he’s only shooting .5 threes a game this year, and apparently hasn’t hit one yet this season.
Not that you want James shooting a ton of 3s, but it is worrisome that he isn’t hitting ANY of the few he is taking. He wasn’t a knockdown shooter, but he hit a respectable amount for a big guy. Feels like he put so much work into his post game that he perhaps let the ‘decent but not good’ shot get even worse. It’s not just the 3s, he isn’t hitting the deep 2s he is taking either(again, not horrible that he is taking less, but it used to be a staple shot of his and he isn’t hitting any now). Isn’t his FT% down too?

Reserve the right to not praise Kobe for lighting up my team last night though =p
I actually haven’t watched a Heat game all year, was just looking at the stats. It appears that James took the “he has no post game” comments to heart and lost his ability to hit 3’s. That in and of itself is a major problem. It’s not that he’s maintained his jumper while adding wrinkles, it’s that the new wrinkle has replaced his jumper. That’s really, REALLY strange.

ESPN is reporting Lebron feels like Tebow. Imagine playing with all that pressure every single game, knowing the fans are tweeting bad shit about you every time you miss a jumper on the second.

Maybe Lebron is all about team. Maybe his lack of 4th quarter production is attributable to him wanting to find his open team-mates. Maybe he doesn’t want to isolate his team-mates in the 4th quarter by stealing all the highlights. He wants to give players like Norris Cole and D-Wade the opportunity to be on Sportcenter’s Top 10 Plays.

You don’t really believe this do you?

Anyway, I can’t recall another NBA superstar before him so disliked. We can go back to Bird, Erving, Magic, Isiah, Barkley, Jordan, etc. etc. etc.

The public WANTS to like these guys. You got to be a major asshole to turn public opinion against you the way he has. He has no one to blame but himself. It’s been one bad “Decision” after another with this guy.

I could be the most effective handler in the business if they’d follow my simple advice: Shut the fuck up and play ball. The public will forget. Little brown people slaving for .03/hr to put together your $150 shoes? Shut the fuck up and play ball. Squabble with your wife at 2 am and she bust your windows out and you hit something? Shut the fuck up and play ball. Gambling? Shut the fuck up and play ball. Infidelity? Shut the fuck up and play ball. For crying out loud - Kobe was accused of rape and he’s got a better profile than Lebron right now.

You know what MJ did better than all of them? He shut the fuck up and played ball through rumors, accusations, innuendo, arrogance, assholerly and assorted transgressions. He shut the fuck up about all that and played ball. And people loved him.

Lebron: Shut the fuck up and play ball. They’d even forgive you not winning it all.
Yeah I’m just having a little fun. I’m in the Tebow mood with the religious analogies.

I’ve probably seen like 4 Miami games this season and LeBron hasn’t been as aggressive as he can be, especially late in the game. I think it ultimately goes back to Spo, the coach. You can’t have a young dude like him try to manage a team full of talent like Miami has and the ego that comes with that. Spo looks like he’s scared to tell off LeBron, Wade and Bosh.

You think Jesus could have got his message across by himself?

No, he needed his team-mates, his disciples.
so you’re saying LBJ is not just “The King” but he’s the Jesus of basketball? LOL
It’s Tebow time man, we have to have a little fun with the sports-religious mash-up dominating the sports news right now.

if kobe has another 40 point game on a back to back night, Im selling my soul to the devil too. Same goes if tebow wins.

why cant we all just get along and admit that,

1)kobe is proving many people wrong about his supposed decline so far with those 40+ points games of his right now.

2)lebron james CAN be ONE of the greatest players to ever play the game. but he needs to mature more both on and off the court, work on his game harder and like what bodyguard said, just stfu and play ball.

3)miami is probably gonna go all the way this year. (being a lakers fan, that’s sad)

4)kevin love is BALLING. all star for sure!

A little reminder of Lebron’s 3pt shooting ability. This is just awesome.

You made it to the crossroads yet?

Man Dallas is slowly removing any doubt that they are for real and sobering up from the championship hangover. They have one of the deepest rosters in the league, if not the deepest when Vince Carter shows up, which he has so far. Interestingly, Dirk is probably playing the fewest minutes he has in career at about 20-25 a game so far. Carlisle knows Dirk is going to be ready when the time comes so he’s been playing around with the new roster to see what’s working and just to let the guys get accustomed with one another.

The weakest point for Dallas coming into the season was the centre position with Chandler bailing to NYC. Cuban knew VC, West and Odom were going to offset his absence to an extent but Dallas needs Haywood to play well to fill Chandlers previous role. The Mavs recently acquired Yi Jialian, a versatile 7 footer who is only going to make them better.

lol! what year is this? 2006 This is a new decade… kobe go away already! lol its really impressive for him to be doing that at age 33. People saying he is done along with his pending divorce has really given him extra fire. I’ll be rooting for another 40+ point game when they play dallas, the team that swept the lakers last year. No motivation needed there

I’m sure he’ll be looking to wreck, but the current Dallas squad is lightyears away from last seasons.

I can’t wait for the LAL-DAL game tomorrow.

I haven’t seen the Lakers since Christmas, really hoping Kobe goes off.

If basically this whole damn season is any indication then you’re gonna get your wish.

Also, as much as I’d like Bryant to drop 60 tomorrow, I’m more interested in how the Lakers do on Friday against Miami. As long as they win I’d also like to see him get 60 there too, haha.

Heat will get butt fucked without Wade. He’s out indefinitely with plantar fascitis (sp?) in his left foot, sprained his right ankle, and has a right calf strain, as well :frowning: They have a bunch of tough games ahead and Wade can’t play in any of them as of right now. Hasn’t been himself since the Celtic’s game :frowning:

Damn, didn’t realize he was out. Also, read an article last week where Chris Bosh said that Wade needs to be their go-to guy in closing moments, no exceptions. While I agree 100%, I wonder how James’ fragile ego feels about that? Also, will Randman ever come back?

Looked up Love’s stats: 25pts, 14.6 rebs, 1.8 assts, 1 stl, .8 blks, 43% fg, 377% 3pt, 80.5% ft. DAMN. The only thing I see wrong with that is for a 6’10" post player he’s only shooting 43%, and he appears to be a black hole, but then I noticed he shoots 5 3’s a game and hits damn near 2 of 'em and also grabs 5 offensive boards a game. 25 & 15 a game is some Moses Malone type shit.

That’s the million dollar question hahahaha. Oh btw… FUCK KOBE haha

Anyone else watching the Mavs-Lakers game?

Kobe missed his first 5 shots, but he’s starting to heat up.

Matt Barnes is a dirty cock sucker.

This 3rd quarter has been brutal as hell.

Like watching a YMCA pickup game.

Lakers are 1/15 in the 3rd.

Jason Kidd is 1/8.
