NBA 2014-2015 Regular Season Thread

Also wanted to point out that a reporter recently asked Wiggins who was harder to guard, Bryant or James, and he said Bryant. Imagine what he’d say if he had to guard him at 28.

Yeah basically everyone was big on Jerryd Bayless.

From watching him as a Raptor, he was constantly out of control while driving with small glimpses of ability and basically had no jump shot.

As for the stretch 4 talk, I recently watched LAC VS TOR and Blake griffin was really taking a lot of deep two’s. He looked like a 2 guard almost lol.

All I could think was, shit his game has changed since I last paid attention

Do you guys like the replay rules? I just watched a game that must’ve had 5 reviewed calls

slows the game down too much, and gives the attention whore refs more attention. There is no reason it should take the amount of time it does to see who touched the ball last.

Has anyone been paying attention to what Westbrook has been doing? He’s averaging 27.3 pts,7 assists and almost 6 boards in 31 minutes a game. That’s fucking insane. Guess he hasn’t played enough games to qualify, but he has the highest scoring average in the league. I’m pretty sure OKC gets into the playoffs, and he’s gotta be at the top of MVP talks.

Yes.

Its “T-Mac in ORL” type numbers.

But Westbrook will get outta the 1st round… was looking at the standings and OKC is 17-17 right now. With 48 games to go, they could realistically wind up as the 4-5 seed. Honestly, think the rest Durant and Westbrook had to take will actually help in the long run. The team as a whole is starting to play well, and they still have the two hardest covers in the league. Add in the experience factor, think they’re the toughest team out West except for maybe Portland.

There is no easy out in the west.

Two games since N Young’s return = two wins

He said he was a better 3 point shooter than ray allen, reggie miller, curry, thompson and larry bird apparenty. Oh man, this dude is a joke.[/quote]

from tonight:

Dion is out, JR and shump are in for the Cavs.

Dion is the same player as JR, and i like shump if he can stay healthy.

Waiters is a homeless man’s Smith with half the game. If Smith would ever pull his head out of his ass he’d be an All-Star. Instead he’s down to cash checks, take bad shots and legitimately not give a fuck.

Kinda off topic, but did you guys know that 60% of NBA players declare bankruptcy after 5 years out of the league?

I think that goes for all pro athletes.

I really hope lebron will facilitate JR with getting his head on right cause the guy can play. Dion thinks he’s an all star, but should be happy to get any meaningful time off the bench.

Dude, was talking about this with some buddies this weekend. Allen Iverson made over TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS strictly in basketball money and he’s broke. Nothing in that sentence makes sense. The thing is, most of these dudes are stubborn hoodrat kids that hire Uncle Ray Ray and cousin Pookie to act as financial advisors, then they go out and buy crazy houses, cars, whatever. The problem is, those things have mortgages and when the gravy train is over those bills pile up really fucking fast. That’s obviously not taking into account the entourages, blowing 20k on a Tuesday night at a strip club, the mistresses, etc… it’s crazy how frivolous most of these dudes are.

We often forget watching these amazing athletes that a lot of them are largely from ‘the hood’ where you’re either selling dope or have a wicked jump shot. Heh.

That’s why when you get an interview from a player who speaks well and clearly has a solid head on his shoulders outside of basketball it sticks out.

Before you say it, yeah Kobe -lol. From his personality, I think he could’ve made millions in a field completely unrelated to basketball had he not gone down this path.

Mashburn’s another one. He owns a ton of chain restaurants and car washes I think. Some of these dudes are sharp enough to know it won’t last so they prepare. Most aren’t and wind up broke.

I’ll watch this as soon as I get a minute. Thanks for posting. Semi-related, has there ever been a bad 30 for 30? Only seen maybe 5, but they were all really well done.

I’ve never seen a bad one either.

That point-shaving one re: Big East hoops was fun too.

I wonder if Cuban might’ve tried that Kidd/Jackson/Mashburn core for longer than what ended up happening
