NBA 2012 - 2013

Dwight howard has missed more free throws this year, than steve nash has missed in his entire career. How professionals are unable to make free throws is beyond comprehension.

Shaq could get away with it b/ he was a beast.

“D12” is a big pussy and his inability to shoot free-throws is a stark reminder of how mad over-hyped he is.

x2 but you know someone is going to give him a max deal. Same with Bynum, who imho might be the biggest knucklehead in the league right now. Just cause theyre big, but theyre both always hurt and have very limited games.

If i was a GM, give me big man by comitee; tough and wiling to bang and do the dirty work, and goes beast mode on the boards. Also play for the cheap.

Andrew Bogut is my dream center for this Lakers team. He understands spacing, knows the pick and roll, can stick the 17 footer, creates his own shot when needed and can pass the ball. If the Lakers keep Howard I’ll stop watching them play.

Bogut is always hurt tho. Which i cant really think of any big guys that dont suffer continuous injury problems.

True, but I’d still rather have oft injured Bogut than Howard. I’ve been shouting for years on here how overrated Howard is. Glad people are finally coming to the same conclusion.

Very happy to see Bernard King get inducted into the Basketball HOF…

Happier to see the Knicks clicking at a good time.

^ No kidding about the Knicks. Melo for MVP! If LeBitch wins, that would be a damn shame. I really like there chances at making it to the finals and winning it to be honest. And this is coming from a celtics “fan” lol.

I get that Melo is having a sweet final stretch, but I’m lost on how you think he should get MVP over LBJ. Best player on best team, best statistical player, memorable stretches of greatness, doesn’t matter what metric you want to use LBJ has it this year.

Yeah good point, I just hate him lol. Good thing I don’t decide who wins the MVP

One thing Melo can do though: keep playing this well and scare the fuck out of Lebron’s Heat in the playoffs. Right now the Knicks look like the team that was challenging(and leading) the Heat for that #1 spot in the East through the early going of the season, and while I’d still pick the champs in the series it looks a ton closer than it did just a few weeks ago.

True enough… except that he’s Andrew Bogut.

After how it all ended in ORL, its still trendy to bash D12. And yes, his game isn’t without limitations.

All that said, he’s prob top-5 athlete in entire league when healthy and even after significant surgery, no one is outrebounding him. Not too bad for his worst year period.

And of course he’s a max deal guy, to even suggest otherwise is silly talk.

Agreed. One of my favorites for sure.

I don’t think he’s anywhere near top 5 athletes or a max deal guy. You do realize the Lakers are dead last in opponent fg% in the paint, right? This is from the guy who’s won 3 dpoy’s… Orlando’s system fit him well, LA’s doesn’t. The guy doesn’t understand very basic basketball “rules”, like offensive spacing or moving without the ball, he can’t create his own shot to save his life, he’s getting worse from the foul line as his career goes on, he’s a bad passer, he has bad hands on anything that aren’t rebounds, AND he’s a world class douchebag and team cancer. Anyone who signs him to a max deal is an idiot.

I don’t know about that. If you’re not a team that already has existing pieces in place and are in a position to mold the rest of your team around him, how bad an idea is it really?

At worst you’d be a first round exit team. At best you’d be a championship contender. Didn’t he prove that with several years in Orlando?

Unless you can find identical role players with an identical coach who runs an identical system against identically favorable match ups, no.

We can agree to disagree on the athleticism but I’ll again point out that he’s coming off back surgery. Not everyone makes that comeback – think: preinjury LJ of the Hornets vs postinjury LJ of the Knicks – nevermind getting All-NBA honors like D12 is sure to do.

About max deals, just stop. Brook Lopez and Roy Hibbert got em, and how many DPOY’s do they got?? (don’t get me wrong, I like Hibbert and hope he keeps improving)

And about being a douchebag, who gives a fuck?

edit - I’m on record here for hoping they could’ve traded D12 for JSmoove (and moved Gasol back to the 5 for whatever of Bryant’s prime is left). Now we’re well past the deadline, and I’m happy that GM-Kupchak stuck with D12. He’s been showing flashes of his old explosive self lately and, esp in this era of weak bigs, there’s no 5 I’d rather have in the entire league. (possible exception: only M Gasol)

Gotta agree with this.

I bet they’re almost all douche bags with inflated egos.

The only difference with Dwight is he’s a star so he can get away with it more

I edited/added to that earlier post.

Initially, this may have mattered and the D12-Bryant friction prob culminated at the All-Star weekend in Houston. But since then – and that crazy Bryant-led comeback vs TOR almost certainly made a difference – D12 has realized that Bryant is just about winning, fuck everything else. And he’s fallen in-line (with Bryant as alpha-dog)

I’ll tell you who cares: GM’s and owners. If you’re a world class douche but can play and put asses in seats, you’re allowed to get away with murder. But, as soon as your douchiness outweighs your game, you’re not worth the headache. Look at Allen Iverson and Gilbert Arenas. Both of those dudes should still be in the league, but age, injuries and the inability to shut the fuck up has 'em MIA.
