Who else could end up with 40 after having a shitty first half?

The Thunder haven’t done any thing to match up better with the Heat since the Finals. The Ibaka/Perkins combo makes for a shitty match up when the Heat go small which is 99% of the time this year. The Thunder need to figure before they get their ass handed to them in the Finals again. I’m curious to see if they try and address that before the trade deadline.
They need to get rid of Perk. That guy is worthless.
I agree 100% and never liked the guy. He’s not bringing much to the table and his defense is overrated IMHO. I think after last nights game, trading him has to be on the table.
I just said that like 2 weeks ago, and got no support. lol

Please stop trying to steal Sam and my good ideas ok? Thanks.

Yeah cause its not like there isnt evidence of this a page or two back. Dont hate just cause im the OG Perkins hater.

I agree that losing Harden hurt OKC, big time. i dont know that it would be the difference between a championship or not, but they traded a great player for a good player, and didnt do shit else.

The Lakers keep losing but they’re only 3 games back on the Rockets. A Laker run and a Houston injury or slump and the Lakers could get the 8th seed.

At what point do we lose hope on the Lakers, or has the point gone past?

Lose hope for the playoffs or lose hope for a championship?

Playoffs- that’s gonna happen.

Championship (or deep playoff run)- not a chance lol that ship has sailed, crashed on a reef, they dropped the life boats, those were flipped over in the big surf and the entire team drowned because they couldn’t swim.

Must have been a Carnival cruise ship.

Latest trade rumour involves Dwight Howard for Rajon Rondo. The proposal doesn’t make much sense for both teams IMHO. The Celts would have to have massive confidence in Avery Bradley moving into the future to get rid of one of the best PGs in the game. The post-Rondo injury streak must be getting into Celt management’s heads. No person with a sane head would affirm their current run is sustainable in the long-run, it’s ignoring the most basic of team analyses i.e. looking at the current roster. On the Laker side, what’s the point of having Nash and a new PG-version of Kobe Bryant that is looking to distribute? Laker management would have to have little confidence in the direction they are currently heading, play-wise. Bringing in Rondo negates Nash (designates him to back-up), enables Kobe to go back to the perennial scorer embedded in his DNA, makes Gasol their staple low-post man and turns the Laker’s into the prototypical Mike D’Antoni team that lacks size and defensive tenacity.

I think it would be a smarter move for the Lakers simply because they don’t know if Dwight Howard will sign a new contract with them after this season. If he jumps ship they are screwed next year. But you can’t really say a potential Dwight departure would destroy the organisation medium or long-term because there will always be free agents salivating at the chance to become a Laker.

^^ GM-Kupchak already came out and denied speaking even once to Ainge about this.

Personally, I’d love to see a D12-for-JSmoove swap get done somehow. That would move Gasol back to the 5 for whatever few ‘high level’ years Bryant/Gasol both have left, plus I’ve just seen very little to indicate that D12 is truly worth building around, that D12 can handle LA-level expectations, and so on…

(imo obviously)

Unless the final round is a pair of dunks that I’ve never even conceived of let alone seen before, this is legitimately the worst dunk contest I can remember(clause: I may have forgotten the ones worse). Every year I think to myself that I prob shouldn’t waste time watching it because it is getting so blah, yet every year I disappoint myself doing exactly that.

I would rather watch this dunk contest than that silly superman dress up, costume changes let’s jump out of a car crap we usually have to watch.

The Kyrie Irving “you better recognize show” continues tonight…

Very glad i dint watch the dunk contest.

That cant be a serious rumor, as you said, it makes absolutely no sense for anybody.

VC basically ruined the dunk competition.

It’s been a let down ever since and will continue to be until we get another phenom in the competition.

We won’t ever see anything new again but the blend of fluidity of movement and power can still wow.

The contest with griffin and McGee was brilliant, and Howard just did some unbelievable stuff! Last couple of years have been terrible though, the best Dunkers just don’t want to be in the contest, besides green I was massively disappointed with this years line up

Did anyone else watch the Open Court on TNT before All-Star Saturday started? They spent quite a lot of time on the problems with the dunk contest, and things that could be done to address it. It’s not just about dunk quality, it’s about dudes taking 4 minutes to make one(they kept stopping the clock for White when he was running back across the court) and draining all of the energy out of the building. It’s about having to look up people in the contest because you don’t recognize them, even if they actually are good dunkers.

FWIW I really dislike overuse of props too.

Im with you.

I miss the days of MJ performing massive, gravity-defying drunks. I dont care for the props, the 2 ball dunks, all the flashy shit. Just huge fucking displays of brute force and athleticism.

James Flight White is a dunking legend. He did an EastBay from the free throw line in a Euro dunk contest.

4:30 mark

That’s all well and good(I know who he is, and have watched a ton of youtube vids of him) but that doesn’t change that he maxed out the clock missing dunks twice last night.

Yeah but the dunk contest yesterday HAD potential. For a competition like the dunk contest where you don’t know what you’re going to get and you want to expect the unexpected, potential is the only real certainty.

I want to see James White in the contest next year. He wasn’t accustomed to the big stage and bright lights, which is why he missed those dunks. You can’t say he didn’t practise and not take yesterday seriously. Hopefully, the chance to come back to dunk is extra motivation for staying on an NBA roster next season.

Could also have to do with him being older, dude is on the wrong side of 30 now and probably losing some of that single leg power.

I wish there was a microphone for that 3 way conversation between Kobe, Melo, and Durant at the end of the 1st half. Looked like a lot of smiles and laughing just after a hotly contested 1 on 1.
