You know it! I’m not scared.
Lakers 2013 NBA Champs.
Insane, LeBron 30+ points in 6 consecutive games - all shooting 60% or over by the way…
I don’t think we’ve ever seen a player like Lebron James before. He makes the game look so easy, the guy looks like he’s hardly breaking a sweat on the court. He can do whatever he wants, when ever he wants and I just can’t comprehend how you can do that game in and game out. A man of that size shouldn’t be able to move around the court like he does. WTF man…

49 makes out of last 65 shots. Yowza…
I mean say what you will, MJ played like an actual bull, you knew you were getting all of him every night come game time. Same with Kobe. With LeBron he’ll murder you in the same way but he can still go to another level, which is scary as hell. And he’s changed – I think he’s more “free” out there on the court because he knows he doesn’t have to carry the whole team by himself, no exaggerations, like in Cleveland. I don’t think it is any coincidence the truly great great players in NBA history only won with great supporting players – MJ had Pippen, Kobe had Shaq (or Shaq had Kobe), D-Wade had Shaq, Kobe had Gasol and now LeBron has D-Wade. In the getting there club, Durant and Westbrook.
Ofcourse, you know my stance, I like team basketball so it always seems more pure to me when you win as team like the Rockets of yesteryear, Pistons, Mavs and Spurs did.
Lebron’s having a great all round year. If he stays within 2 points per game of Durant there is no way he doesn’t get another MVP.
Interesting stat: He’s 11th in assists in the league. Everyone above him is a point guard. That makes him #1 in assist for non-point guards and gets more assists per game than the 19 other starting point guards. That’s pretty sick for a forward who takes as many shots as he does.
Take into account there are only 3 small forwards that get more rebounds per game and add that in the mix.
James is as physically gifted as anyone who’s ever played the game.
But he doesn’t have that Jordan/Bryant craziness.
Also, I’ve posted this before but I’m reminded of it since we’re talking all-time greats: barring injury, Durant will break Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record.
11-15 for another 30 tonight, throwing in 6 boards and 9 assists just because… Lebron is on a serious fucking tear right now, this is some insane scoring efficiency he is showing off.

Gotta disagree with you here. Look at his stats tonight: 30pts (11-15 FG), 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. He’s scored over 30 points while shooting over 60% in 6 straight games. This dude is a better all-around player than Kobe and probably Jordan. He’s definitely more gifted than both. I think he’ll pass Kobe on the list of greatness but won’t get above Jordan. Jordan had more intangibles and LeBron won’t win 6 championships.

He may one day be known as a greater player than Kobe, but definitely not Jordan. You have to remember, this is a different league than what Jordan played in. Its been watered down, its much less physical. This is part of the reason that guys like Lebron and Griffin who score a lot in the paint are so effective offensively. There great big guys, with a lot of speed and can bully guys. Defensively, you have to be much more careful now than you did back in the early-mid 90’s. You would see Lebron challenged a lot more if defenders didnt have to be so fearful of fouls. Its much more of an offensive league than it was when jordan played.
If Jordan could play in today’s league, he would be destroying every player in the league in offensive output, unquestionably. He is the greatest offensive player of all time, and at a time when it was much harder to be a great offensive player than it is now.
Just my .02 but i think these are pretty valid points you have to take into consideration. This is why i love Durant so much. As far as raw talent goes, he is the best in the NBA in my opinion. He has incredible offensive output, with solid rebounds and assists, and he doesnt rely on bullying guys with his size and athleticism to do it.
For the record, Lebron is an absolute phenom. Im not just a hater. I just really think that most of the guys who say Lebron is comparable to Jordan arent as familiar with how the NBA has changed over the last 15 or so years. (not a jab at anyone in this thread, its apparent many of you know your shit)

What a great pickup for them. I never really watch Toronto games but I always see the scores flash on the bottom of the screen. I can’t even keep count how many times I’ve seen them lose by a point or two. Now I’m starting to see them on the other side of the W-L column in those games.

I agree with everything you said about Jordan.I was big a Pistons fan back then and they physically clobbered him. There’s no equivalent of the Jordan rules these days. Every hard foul is a technical and something called a clear path foul would be ridiculed back then.
When all is said and done, Lebron will end up above Kobe on the list of all time greats (barring any injury). He might not get as many rings but you can’t fault him for having a weak supporting cast in Cleveland all those years (which he still took to the finals). When you look at the Cleveland roster those years and what they accomplished during those seasons, it’s pretty amazing. Look what happened to the Lakers when Kobe didn’t have great players around him. I know it’s not fair to compare them right now since Kobe is past his prime, but trade Kobe for Lebron and the Lakers instantly get much, much better.

I also agree 100% with you.
In 10 years, the only way i dont see Lebron being called the second best player of all time is if Durant continues to mature and improve his game. He’s already right there with Lebron, and has tons of potential for growth still.

Agree 100% with both you. That’s basically what I said in my post – LBJ > Kobe but not Jordan. No disrespect to Kobe but if LBJ gets at least 4 rings it’s no question IMO.
Stephen A. Smith said LBJ would be a challenge for Michael 1-on-1 while Skip said Jordan would Rucker his ass all day and all night while wearing PJs.
One thing about LBJ though is that I’ve never seen him attack multiple people in the paint like Jordan used to do so routinely and how Kobe exemplified the other night against Brooklyn.

Gotcha. And yes what you said about Lebron attacking multiple people in the paint…That right there is one of the things that seperates him and Jordan. Lebron is an athletic anomaly, even in the NBA, but he still has to rely on being an incredible physical specimen and bullying guys in the paint. On the other hand, Durant for example, is capable of pulling off shit that you normally only see from D Rose. Its just 2 different styles. Both work great, but if we are talking purely from a raw talent and skill point of view, there are guys in the NBA currently that outshine lebron.
FTR im just entertaining a conversation here, not knocking lebron or saying that he has an unfair advantage by being so genetically gifted.

It’ll be Kobe Bryant’s scoring record that Durant will have to break. I have a feeling he ain’t retiring until it’s his.

lol, the Raps didn’t beat the Knicks. The Knicks beat the Knicks. 35% shooting and bunch of missed crackhead layups down the stretch. What an ugly game.
What did I say about Toronto winning those close games now, eh?
