I’d still rather have Wade taking the last shot over leBald

I’ve played with a few NBA cats, and they can play [obviously]. It must’ve been awhile since Luther touched a ball though, 'cause he didn’t hit one shot in 2 games. That’s not an exaggeration, he LITERALLY didn’t hit a single shot. He probably went 0-20 over the course of the games. It was actually kind of funny. Cool guy though, and I’m sure once he gets back in there he’s no joke.
Haha that’s awesome. My pops went to undergrad at Illinois so I heard a lot about the Luther Head / Dee Brown / Deron Williams trio that one year.
Uh-oh… rose will be out 8-12 months. Probably going to miss next season.
I got a feeling that Indiana is gonna take this one.

How is that knee doing? you still want to give basketball a shot, or has that ship sailed?
'Sup man? Haven’t seen you around in awhile. Coming to grips with the fact that my knees are probably as good as they’re ever gonna be. Couple that with my being 30 now, and my hoop dreams are done. Kinda kick myself in the ass sometimes for letting all my chances [and there were several] slip outta my hands, but it’s entirely my fault. Now I’m just trying to stay healthy and play for fun. Don’t think I’ve strung together more than 2 consecutive weeks of working out this whole year, but I’m FINALLY feeling good and am getting back to it. As soon as I get that 2-hand 360 down again, I’ll post a vid. Be easy brother.

Greg the prophet. Hope you have that same feeling about the Lakers manana.
First time in a long time it’s payed off to be a loyal Pacers fan. lol

Seriously unclutch at the end he and Wade choked
I was talking to a friend of mine today who is a huge Laker fan and even he’s realising the Lakers just aren’t an elite team any more. They’re weak on D, they score in bunches and their coach sucks. And that’s probably a very limited perspective on what’s wrong with them. The only reason they won championships after the Gasol trade was because Gasol actually played like an All-Star and they got reasonable production from their bench. Now you have Devin Ebanks, who ever the fuck he is, getting ejected because he can’t keep his cool. Honestly, what the fuck gives him the right to be pissed - he should be happy he’s even getting minutes in the playoffs.
The Lakers are major underdogs this series and the only reason I’m not being harsher is because I have respect for some of the Laker fans here (mainly Gregon). I know what it’s like to support a once great team and see them slowly dissolve into mediocrity.

Both teams are built with a “big 3 mentality” but
A) Thunder best player is better than Lakers best player at this point in their career
B) Thunder “other” players are significantly better than Lakers “others”. Specifically Ibaka is far better than the 4th best Laker.
C) Thunder are one of the few teams who can match up defensively with the Lakers bigs. Ibaka has length to contest anyone, Perkins has the strength to push Bynum off his spots, Collison has “old man in a pickup game” defense going for him where he’ll pull out a bunch of lame tricks and give it 110% effort.

Whoever wrote that spelled Dennis wrong and Pippen horribly wrong. Also when the hell was Derek Fisher ever a part of a “big 3” in LA? That makes no sense.
The middle three should’ve been KG/Allen/Pierce or Duncan/Parker/Ginobli

I still say Bryant is better than Durant, and Bynum/Gasol are better than Perkins/Ibaka, but the rest of the Thunder are CONSIDERABLY better than the rest of the Lakers. You also never have to wonder if OKC is gonna play to their fullest. LA needs to play every game this series like it’s a game 7.

Well, no one outside of Lakers fans would probably agree Kobe>Durant at this point in their careers, but regardless, they aren’t very far off, so I’ll concede that point A wasn’t a big one.
Of course Bynum/Gasol are overall better than Perkins/Ibaka, I meant to say that Perkins/Ibaka DEFENSIVELY can make it hard on Bynum/Gasol to score - or at least, give them more trouble than most teams. Slowing down LAL on the interior forces them to get more of their scoring from Kobe (who will need to also expend energy defending Harden or Westbrook in crunch time). On the flip side, Ibaka/Perk don’t score much anyway, so it’s not like Gasol/Bynum will be taking away much. The Lakers bigs can cheat off them on virtually every drive though, and contest shots at the rim, because neither OKC big is going to score much in an empty gym.
Also, Harden is the third best player, not Ibaka. Harden has been awesome this year (seen him a few games) and I think you’ll notice it more as the series goes on. When he is on the floor with Westbrook the Lakers will have a really hard time defending both as they only have one Kobe, and Artest will be on Durant. Harden is IMO the 3rd best PnR operator behind CP3/Nash (better than Parker because he’s a threat to shoot threes).
I just think Kobe is going to have to do everything offensively and defensively for LAL to win, not sure if he has it in him at this point in his career, with this particular (shitty) supporting cast.
^^Also, I think the Thunder are hungry and view this as “knocking off the old guard”… don’t think they will take games off. Also, their main dudes are hyper competitive.

The picture is probably a product of 4chan.
Corrupting the spellings of athletes name’s is a running joke on the board. For example they call Shaq “Shaw” and Kobe “Kobr” as those are the most common misspellings of their names.

I agree with pretty much everything you wrote, but especially the last sentence. I think Bryant has enough to stretch a couple of games out of this, but don’t think he has enough left in the tank to do it himself. Sadly, it looks like that’s what the Lakers are leaving it to.

I’m giving them a shot. FWIW I think Vogel is a better series coach than Spo. Obviously unproven at this point but last years Bulls - Pacers series, Bulls got pushed each game and had to work their asses off.
Enter a year later. Same coach, improved Team with Hibbert stepping up and picking up David West. Better chemistry and actually able to close out games which they were starting to do when Vogel took over.
They’ll push this series to the end. Would love to see a Pacers - 76ers ECF!!!
