^^^ Dude, you’re an idiot. Artest was flexing and screaming. The last thing on his mind was the inbounds pass. Harden was running and gave him a bump, which as Sam said happens countless times a game. I do believe that Artest was so pumped that he wasn’t fully aware of what he was doing or what was going on, but that’s the problem.
That was supposed to be a “get the fuck off me” elbow, but it was to an unsuspecting dudes head. What if he hit him in the temple? That could’ve turned out WAY worse, and Artest has a history of this shit. 7 games isn’t enough, he needs to miss the rest of the season, if not more. The guy is clearly not all there, and he’s gonna wind up REALLY hurting somebody one day. I’ve said for years he’s way more trouble than he’s worth for a variety of reasons, but this was ridiculous. The league needs to get rid of him.
Enough with the name calling. This is the internet. It doesn’t make you tough, and it doesn’t strengthen your argument. I never defended Artest’s elbow, yet you focused your entire post on Artest? All I did was state my disgust with Harden. This wasn’t accidental contact. Harden had no business getting near Artest. Westbrook is the point guard, and the guy who was going to take the inbound pass. Harden should’ve been heading the opposite direction. Even if somehow Harden got confused that he wasn’t the point guard (yeah right) and thought he should take the inbound pass, he would be going AWAY from the defender. Not TOWARDS the defender. That’s a basic concept in multiple sports. Combine that with the fact that he’s used similar tactics before, and he looks pretty guilty. I’d advise you to watch the video I posted. His acting wasn’t as good on that one, and he wasn’t dealing with somebody who is notorious for anger problems. Perhaps you would understand more where I’m coming from.
Your argument sounds like it’s coming from someone with zero basketball experience. Yeah, Harden flops and can be a pain in the ass. But, what he did was something that happens LITERALLY a dozen or more times a game. He bumped a dude who was celebrating. He didn’t shove him, or punch him, or even bump him that hard. He just gave him a little bump and Artest unloaded and elbow to his ear. What you’re complaining about is one of the dumber things I’ve read in awhile, and makes little to no sense.
It astounds me the immaturity you have displayed in each post thus far. Half of the things you have written have been random, uncalled for insults. If this is how you act in person, then look no further for the reason you have no friends.
Regardless, I’ll once again remind you that I don’t defend Artest’s elbow. For some reason you keep going back that. I believe that is what’s called a strawman argument. All I said was that Harden baited him. From what I can see, you agreed with that in your post (albeit with a different, much ruder choice of words), so I’m assuming this discussion need not continue.
And I played high school basketball for one of the best teams in my state for a coach who is now in the hall of fame. I also played AAU ball at the highest level in the state (and occasionally out of the state), and am currently playing in a men’s league which includes several guys who played college/pro basketball. My brother is also a high school basketball coach just for good measure.
? Jesus Christ you’re sensitive. There wasn’t one personal attack there yet somehow you still got offended. I said your argument makes no sense, and it doesn’t. Notice how no one else is agreeing with you? And, no, I don’t agree that Harden baited him. He did something that happens -again- DOZENS OF TIMES A GAME. He wasn’t in his face or talking shit, he bumped him. Hell, there’s NO WAY Artest could’ve even known it was Harden. If you’re “fed up with Harden” then you need to be fed up with LITERALLY every pro ball player, 'cause they ALL do what he did. It wasn’t even an unecessarily rough or aggressive bump. It was literally just a simple shoulder bump during the flow of the game. But, with the way you’re reacting to this discussion it’s not surprising you get up in arms over the most common of basketball occurences. Good luck in your league.
