I am trading a beat up ol spider cam pullover
a mint 2 seat compound bicep and a medx chest for it.
Oh man, Iād love to have that 2 seater compound curl and the spider cam pullover! Iād have kept those and figured out how to just buy the combo pullover/ pullover but maybe you found that 2 seater wasnāt all itās cracked up to be? Spider cam machines are just cool but not any more efficient .

I remember passing up a 2 seater that was once owned by Jones and it was affordable . Iām always kicking my self for stuff I didnāt get or do .

This is the better of the two. I have used the other one that utilizes a single weight stack and as you can see from the first photo the stack is behind the seated user of the machine so if you want to use a different amount of resistance for the second movement you had to have a partner change the resistance as quickly as possible.
If you didnāt have to partner you had to exit the machine ,change the resistance, return to the seat and start the exercise. This wasted time pretty much negated the idea of pre-exhaustion.
Whereas with the second machine posted you could set up the resistance for both movements ahead of time allowing you to take full advantage of the concept of pre-exhaustion.
Iām sure the single weight stack machine was designed to reduce cost and the size of the footprint at the expense of functionality.
Iām guessing even at that the expense of the single stack machine made it cost prohibitive and low sales volume ended its production, sadly.
I would snap one of these up in a second IF I could find on any IF I had the floor space . Floor space and availability being the major factors.
I would love to have one of these !
I saw an old plate loading pullover with the spider cams. It was brown and the seat was a lighter color. I could not get close to it. Did Nautilus made one with cables and not chains?
It could have been chain driven but for some reason I think it may have a cables. It was the same color as my compound leg. Brown.
Back in the initial days of Nautilus machines, our gym bought two machines. Both were plate loaded with cables. (and those were the only machines available at that time.) The Pullover machine and the Bicep/Tricep Machine.
That pullover machine was the best one I have ever used

I canāt remember if you do the pullover or pull down first and do you have to unbuckle to go from one to the other? Can you feel the lats pretty good afterwards ?
Scott
The pullover was done first to pre-exhaust the lats for the pulldown
It was called the āupper body squat machineā back in the day.
Agreed, I used one the same types in 1972 back in Milwaukee. In -74 I had an opportunity to use the compound tricep machine that was in the Duncan Y in Chicago. Finally got to use the original compound bicep and the combination pullover pull down machine and the behind the neck pulldown combo in 1986.
