These are the Bitterroot Mountains…

My “girls.” We had just moved into this house. Makes me a little sad…the dark horse on the left is my old girl who had to be put down at the age of 32.

This view shows the southern end of the range, the Selkirks.

Some of my neighbors. These guys used to hang out and eat my hay. Unfortunately, this hunting district only allowed us to harvest whitetails.

This is me, holding our horse Sapphire, with my niece in the saddle. Bitterroot Mountains in the background.

Same horse, different rider, my daughter in the saddle.

I hate spiders but like to see them close up. It looks really cool![/quote]
Until I took this I had always thought it was just a colour pattern on the abdomen, rather than a minature persian rug.
This one was on my kitchen window so I recorded a couple of video clips of her building the web, then when she settled down got that snap. Easiest close-up ever as I could just rest the lens on the glass from the inside.

Montana in winter…

Fleabane…spring wildflowers

Mountain bluebells

Nodding Thistle and weird green bee

Don’t these look like some weird alien flower? Can’t remember what they are called.

Damn! I was always thinking that there is much, much colder… like in good, old North;) U know, snow all over the year (well, maybe 3/4 of the year)… a little surprise then. But the scenery is really beautiful!
Edit: Oh! and my photo of military seaport with Viking’s longboat ;] in front is up here…

My hometown Auckland, NZ.
This is a view from Bastion point at sunset after a glorious day.
