Well you don’t have to worry about women riding shotgun in the shuttle anymore…This is definitely a face-palm moment. What the hell does NASA have to do with reaching out to muslims…
Next I suppose the Secret Service will be utilized to make quilts for poor kids in cold countries.
I do not see the problem in this , We are not spending money on just the Muslim Children and it is costing us no more , Obama would like NASA to inspire all children . One of the problems plaguing the Muslim society and their place in the world community is the lack of education and from the Montessori point of veiw inspiration is the best means of Education.

and would not the Department of Education then be the appropriate agency for this effort since their PRIMARY MISSION IS EDUCATION??
And should not the National Aeronautics and Space Administration be focused on its PRIMARY MISSION OF AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADVANCEMENT?
but why should original intent or primary purpose for existence matter - heck, let’s all become good little muslim self-esteem strokers . . . . . in fact, we should just give up our freedom, independence, nationality and religion and all become good little muslims so we can sit in a circle and stroke each other’s egos . . . .
where’s Mak, I need a circle-jerk reference . . . . or maybe not . . .

The problem is…kids aren’t even allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school because it has “God” in it, ten commandments are out of every building because it has to do with God, etc. You know good and well if NASA had an outreach program targeting Christians it would be shut down so fast your head would spin. It is NASA, not Vacation Bible School.
The message here is: it really IS important who you vote for. People with odd backgrounds, questionable beliefs (Pastor Wright’s pupil), radical agendas, and so forth, should NOT get a vote because it is ‘cool’ or ‘modern’ or ‘See, we’re not racists anymore!’.
ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES! Giving Barry the presidency was like giving a handgun to a toddler.

Reaching out to Muslims. Nothing surprises me anymore with this hack Administration. Please, One person…somebody…try and defend this and then tell me America is on the right track.
Please, let’s come up with more wacky ways to kill our independance and innovation by trying to prop others, in the case, “Muslims”, up. Yeah for Change!!!
"Bolden created a firestorm after telling Al Jazeera last month that President Obama told him before he took the job that he wanted him to do three things: inspire children to learn math and science, expand international relationships and “perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science … and math and engineering.”
If this is what NASA is now about, we must kill the tax financed program entirely. What the fuck country do I live in?? I can’t really tell anymore.[/quote]
I think the logic goes like this.
If we can make the Muslims less pissed about stuff and more engaged in the modern world they will stop trying to blow us up.
If they stop trying to blow us up, then we don’t have to spend so much time and money trying to blow them up, or at least stop them blowing us up.
The time and money we save can then be put into cool shit like flying people to Mars
not saying I agree with it but I think that is how it goes.

And yes, 1 should definitely be assigned to… NASA…
Didn’t a Muslim win a Nobel Prize recently anyway? Zing…

I think you are close , things like the space program inspire some people . Some Muslim kid that could rule the Muslims might get educated because of his inspiration . I think America is having big problems because we are not as educated as we were a couple generations ago. Some times Americans sound as radically absurd as the Muslims

I do not think obama is doing anything to bolster the Muslim Religion

But from the outside,it surely looks like he is diluting NASA’s mission.Personally,I consider NASA one of the peak achievements of mankind in general, and of the USA in particular.
1,400 inventions . . . google it - it will blow your mind how much NASA and its private contractors have added to humanity over the last 50 years or so.
We have every right to be proud of them and this nonsense is just that - nonsense - let’s fund them for their primary mission and see what other amazing accomplishments we can acheive.

It probably isn’t diverting any funds from anywhere though. Most groups have diversity budgets, NASA is just using its diversity budget to target Mulsims in the same way as in the past it has probably targeted women and black people. Gays are probably up next.
