My Video on 'Gym Idiots' Site

So I was on youtube and found a video I’d made is on a website called “Gym Idiots”.

If you go to the 4th video down you’ll see the bench press one where the video has a guy in blue shorts and a wife-beater.
The thing is I don’t mind if a video I made gets around like that, who cares?, but it seems like the guy running the site has decided that my video happened at his gym and he has given the Taiwanese guy in the video the name “Barney”. Weird.

It’s a small site, but I hope he ‘steals’ more of my vids to pad it out.[/quote]

I remember when you posted that up here. The “no warmup” guy. Someone should call this thief out on this thievery .

Why? That is its correct name. It is not called ‘lat’ because it works the latisimus dorsi you know.

Whoa, what happened to your other account? Forget your password or something?

Interesting. Why is it called lateral when the actual motion is vertical?

“Gym Idiots - Epic videos of owned and failed gym idiots.”
What a douch, who says this shit?

Think about that for a second, in the context of say… a lateral raise. Why do thay call it a lateral raise when the movement is vertical?

Because the lat pulldown (or lat raise) works laterally to the body. In other words the arms move laterally not frontally or posteriorly.

Also, since gravity works vertically, nearly all ecercises (free weights) are done in a vertical motion

I wondered where all the traffic was coming from… Gym Idiots is my website by the way.

I’ll address a few concerns.

Yeah, it was a douchebag thing to toss the watermark into the video and I’ve stopped doing that on the current ones. I wanted to see if it’d drive more traffic and it didn’t seem to have any effect whatsoever. If you really want me to remove the video, I’m happy to do so. You could have used the contact page to send me an email and I would’ve removed it.

As for stealing? It’s a video, get over yourself. I’m not using it to push my own product or make any money, I’m simply putting together a website of videos for people to have a bit of a laugh at. I’m come across many videos that made me laugh and I was sick of being unable to find them when I wanted to show friends; hence I set the website up.

I’m not going to debate you on what is and what is not correct form etc. The site isn’t meant to be taken seriously. I’ve been training for a few years and I’ve seen numerous things which I thought wrong which turned out to be correct and vica versa.

As I said, don’t take it too serious. The retarded kid in the superman t-shirt should have made you aware that it’s all a bit of a joke.

As for the barney thing, it’s my brothers friend. So I put his name there to give him some shit. I’m not suggesting for a moment that I shot the clip and this really is Barney. It’s all a bit of a joke.

Nards, your videos are really getting around. You should be collecting royalties.

I’m the guy who made the video and I don’t have a problem with you using it, but it would be optimal if it was just linked or whatever because then I get that little thrill of seeing my number of views go up:)

By the way I saw that guy at the gym again yesterday…same clothes…but now he goes straight to 2 45s and 2 10s (245lbs) straight away now. Still horrible reps with one side getting off the pins a full 3 seconds before the other and back arched and almost dying to complete 3 or 4 reps. Some say he’s working hard…but he only does bench. If the guy did some other stuff I’d give him the benefit of the doubt.

O.o doesn’t work like that… learn your basic copywrite laws. If it did photographers etc… would make even less money then they already do.

What about the thing where break.com has put their watermark on it? The other websites that used my video had it link to youtube…but not break.com

I’m not a lawyer nor well versed in the law, and clearly neither are you, so I won’t discuss this matter, from a legal standpoint, any further. This video wasn’t even taken in the US anyway.

Despite all that, I think it’s a pretty dick move to take video of someone doing something like that and making money off of it.

If you check his website http://www.gymidiots.com/ again he links to a video of a guy doing Oly lifts in an Oly suit and calls him a “fag” in Spandex. Ugh.
I wonder if the original video on youtube was called “fag in spandex” I doubt it.

I thought I made it abundantly clear that nothing on the site is meant to be taken serious. Why do you care if I call a guy in spandex “a fag”?

It’s for the exact same reason I post the comments of people calling me a fag etc, it’s just for a laugh.

Here’s a thought - instead of bothering to register on this site to explain -

just stop being a faggot.

You stole videos.

You put your website logo on them.

That is called using other peoples videos for advertising your website. Instead of being a sneaky and trying to explain this away, just admit that it’s what you’re doing. Other people do it too… trying to explain it away makes it obvious that you know you’re a douche.

Second of all, you used the term “lateral machine” in conjunction with “hey look at this faggot lol”. You have therefore outed yourself as a gym idiot.

Finally -

You make a good point about skinny guys trying to look like twilight, and then you go and encourage people to look like the image attatched?

You are obviously a fat-ass who would rather insinuate that cut / ripped guys with muscles are somehow ‘fags’ and all have pec implants, than to be honest with yourself.

In comparison to chubby soft looking guys with some muscle, women will always prefer to ripped guy. No, skinny ‘twilight fags’ are not the ideal man, but the bodytype you are attempting to promote on your site is fucking laughable and your motive couldn’t be more transparent.

Trim up and stop trying to brainwash newbie lifters.

What a moron.

I just go based on my roommate sense hes a fairly successful photographer… he knows all the laws etc… tries to explain them to me from time to time and I just butcher them.
